"Don't you ever do that again," Raixen said in a hard tone. Shekinah just nodded her head and didn't say anything to comment Raixen's word. Because she can't promise. Because if there's a chance that she has to go there or anywhere alone just to find an answer to every question, she would do that, with no hesitation.
She informed Raixen what happened last night that made her even more curious and that added the hardship of the puzzle she's fixing.
"I have to go to Foster's Empire building, babe. Can you drive for me? I don't know but I feel like I have to check everything about mom and dad's stuff. I can search here anytime but I don't want the reporters to spot me everywhere, that's a hot in their eyes," Shekinah said, grabbing her purse and her phone.
"Of course, let's go." Raixen answered immediately.
This will be the first time that she's going to step in their company's building after how many months, after her family died. She's not telling her secretary since this visit is not about business, or not about the company. This is personal business.
"I do not know where or to whom this investigation will lead me to. But this mysterious letter is telling me to do it, as soon as possible. You can help me during your free time, but don't turn your studies down, babe. You already have a lot to catch up now," Shekinah said, without looking to Raixen, instead, focusing her eyes in the box she brought that is also full of her dad's stuff — little stuffs."
"There are so many amputations against dad now. People in social media will never stop harassing me but I am just thankful that those people who knows my parents well, they stood for us, they stood and protect my parent's legacy. I have to understand where are these things coming from, Rex. I can't have a peaceful night to sleep if these things are bothering me," Shekinah said, massaging her temple in tiredness.
She's tired but she doesn't have fancy time in the world to sit down and have a bottles of wine and chill. Gone are the days for that, she's thankful that they went in a vacation atleast that helped her lessen the burden her mind got stuck.
Raixen drives straight to the exclusive parking area. He can access there, he's with the President. VIP guests have the VIP parking area but Fosters have their own exclusive parking area.
"Don't tell anybody that we are here," Raixen said to inform the guard and the man nodded in agreement and respect. Shekinah didn't speak a word and just pressed the elevator up. Her parents offices are in the 30th and that's a good thing because nobody is allowed to go up the floor of the President and the Chairman.
They are not strict but they respect privacy that is why 27th floor is the conference room where whoever wants to see Shekinah's parents won't have to go to the 30th. They will be the one going down to 27th to welcome the guests and the elevator inside the building – except the exclusive elevator, the employee parking as well as the VIP doesn't have a 30th floor button.
Everyone understands that, because Mrs. Foster, Shekinah's mom was once harassed inside the elevator when they didn't have the exclusive elevator yet and that angers her father too hard.
"We can't check all of these on just a day, babe," Raixen said while roaming his eyes around on Shekinah's dad's office. There are documents in a steel cabinet inside the room of this office.
"Yeah, let's just see what we can find in only time that we have." Shekinah answered and started opening her dad's drawer.
Nothing's suspicious everything was just a paper but when she transfered to another drawer, a document with strange things written on it – printed on it, catches her attention. Shekinah compiled all the documents she thinks are something in one plastic envelope and she will be bringing them back home.
Raixen's eyes glued in one piece of paper fold and stapled in a transparent plastic folder. This must be very important.
"Babe, look at this," Raixen said handling the thing to Shekinah and his girlfriend's eyes narrowed on this. She opened the drawer to get his dad's staple wire remover, Shekinah can't find one so she just added that paper in her plastic envelope and will check that at home.
Raixen is observing Shekinah while doing what he is doing. He can see how determined Shekinah is in everything. There was never a time that she ignored everything she has in mind. That is why he understand that even the smallest thing about this case, she will still investigate it, it's all about her family — about her loved ones. And the only thing he can do is to stand in her back, support her and protect her at all cost.
"Babe, where are you going?" Raixen asked Shekinah when she walks towards the door and put her hand in the knob to open it.
"I'm going to mom's office, these papers here doesn't belong to dad, these are mom's paper. I'll check mom's stuff, maybe some of their stuff just got switched or something, stay here, continue searching. Whatever that looks strange to you, set them aside." Shekinah answered seriously.
"Babe, everything about Mr. President is strange." Raixen replied. Shekinah looked at him and glanced around.
"You would know if the documents is for business and the things of him being a President cannot be found her, so yeah, thanks babe."
Raixen seriously turned his eyes again in the unending documents of Mr. Foster after Shekinah closed the door and left him alone. He actually do not know what he is searching for but Shekinah's right, everything that may sound or look strange is something and only Shekinah can tell if that is what they need or not.
While flipping other papers, Raixen's eyes landed in a white folder in a brown envelope and half of the white folder was outside and a word "ential" is visible. Without having a second thought he just grabbed the brown envelope with the white folder inside in it.
"It says, confidential. Maybe I can find something strange and important in this confidential document," Raixen said. However, the moment he took the white folder out there was nothing of a paper inside. The white folder was just a white folder alone with the word confidential written on it nothing else. "You are a prank!"
For some reason, Raixen just widened the open brown envelope and take a look inside of it. His eyes widened when he saw a small flash drive glued in the envelope with a packing tape. Raixen torn the brown envelope and took out the flash drive in it and put in his pocket.
For this to be hidden like this, this can't be a joke. Who knows, maybe Shekinah can find something in this. He's so proud of Shekinah. As much as possible, she don't want to start a commotion or a scene in the whole country without a strong evidence. The case of her family can be considered as a very huge and heavy case not because her father was the country's President but because it was her entire family member.
Shekinah is into something sure ball. She knows the law for she is studying law even though she didn't take the exam yet that doesn't mean she is having less of a knowledge. She just doesn't have the power and authority yet, she 's still a civilian.
Raixen bring the plastic envelope that Shekinah set from her father's stuff to follow Shekinah in her mom's office. He carefully closed the door and looked around to check if somebody is here, though, no one is allowed to be here aside from the Fosters secretaries that can only be in this floor once they were called.
Raixen was about to open the door with Shekinah's mom's name on it that also said 'President' however, he wasn't able to open the door since it was locked. Raixen pressed the door chime and there, Shekinah went to the door to let Raixen in.
She was trying to open her mom's locked vault. She was trying all the possible passwords her mom had to use and still wrong. All of their birthdays are wrong even her parent's wedding anniversary is wrong!
"Why? You don't know the passcode?" Raixen asked when he noticed that Shekinah is trying again and again pressing the buttons for the passcode.
"Our birthdays were all wrong, I'm trying to combine our birthdays and those I tried were wrong as well. What the heck mom put as a passcode? She changed the passcode of it into something we do not know! I was the one who set the passcode of it before!" Shekinah answered in irritation.
She can't afford to lose all her time here. She still have tons of things needed to be done. She is doing in her phone's calculator and adding their birthdays randomly.
Shekinah gave up and transfered to her mom's drawer. She is also taking all the documents she thinks has something to do with her research. But Shekinah's eyes keeps on glancing to that locked vault and Raixen as well.
It seems like that vault is calling them and asking them to open it but Shekinah couldn't think of a possible passcode. She was trying to add her family's each others birthdays but nothing. None of those numbers work. She even tried the number when her mom and dad met way back in their high school days. She also tried the day her dad made up his mind to run as a senator and also as a President.
"This thing is making me crazy, Rex. I need to open this!" She said and struck the vault in frustration. Raixen immediately come into her and making her calm.
"Calm down babe, we can open this, just calm down, okay?" Raixen said calmly and hug Shekinah to calm her.
"I am running out of time, I can't waste any second, I can feel it. I can feel that I need to rush everything!" She said and wasn't able to hold her tears anymore because of frustration.
This side of Shekinah is breaking his heart. She will never be in tears if she ain't tired and feels hopeless. Raixen tried to press random numbers and he failed. Shekinah's still in tears sitting in the floor while leaning her back in the wall.
"Don't forget you have me in this fight babe. So don't ever said that it's just you again. Use we, because it's always us. You don't have to shoulder everything because you can share it with me," Raixen said while still trying his luck to open the vault.
He is also doing in his phone's calculator to convert numbers from Fosters birthdays.
"I wish I didn't wait 7 months. I wish I already seek for their justice right after they died. Mom and dad are probably disappointed to me now, my siblings, Gio and Jasmien. I wish I didn't chose myself first. I can't understand the feeling that I have Rex, it seems like I'm running out of time, it seems like I have to do it hurriedly. It seems like I have a deadline. I don't know! But the letter, oh my God!" Shekinah said while her buckets of tears are coming out from her precious eyes.
Raixen removed his hands in the vault and pull Shekinah for another hug. She needs him, his girlfriend needs him.
"I'm pretty sure they are not and they will never feel any disappointment on you, babe, because you chose to get yourself back in order to have the strength to fight for the justice that they deserve. I can guarantee that your family must be very proud that you are their daughter and their sister. They know how much they mean to you, how much you love them, so don't ever think of that again," Raixen said while caressing her back and giving a small kisses in her hair.
Shekinah nodded her head and wiped her tears. She really can't understand the feeling she has right now and she's afraid she might not be able to find anything that she can use as a proof that her family's death is way too far from the word accident. She haven't visited the van yet. She needs some evidences away from the medias and camera before she is going to lay everything in the country.
She can't fight for those people behind her family's death without an Ace even if she have the money and all. She is pretty sure, those people are also wealthy ans powerful as hell.
"Oh!" Shekinah startled when the vault's lock clicked in unlocked. She looked at Raixen who's the one pressing the numbers.
"What did you pressed?" She asked with her wide eyes and take a look at the number button.
"230420" Raixen answered uninterested.
Shekinah stiffened when she heard the combination of the number, with her widened eyes and slowly moving her head to turn and look at Raixen directly. Maybe she heard wrong.
"Come again? What did you pressed babe?" She asked in a low tone of her voice. Raixen's face fell like he realized something. He looked at the number he put in his calculator and he was right.
"I combined your age 23, Jasmien's birth month April so that's 04 and added her age to her birth year that 2016 plus 4. So that 230420." He said making Shekinah tremble in shock and paled.
Her lips and trembling and she stutters. "H-How? That's — that's their death anniversary."
