MISSING: THE LAST FOSTER

Chapter 22

Shekinah's mind still floating while holding the locked of a passcode box they got in her mom's vault. The passcode is bothering her. Was that really her age and Jasmien's birthday? Are they guessing it right? Because seriously that passcode added the things that bothers her mind.

The vault only have this locked box. Shekinah decided to bring the box home with the documents she compiled in the plastic envelope. She tried the combination of the number they used to open the vault but it didn't worked in this box.

Now, she is scared of what possible combination numbers that can open up this box. She want to know why does her mom has that number as her passcode because it's hard for her to ignore it for that was the date when her family passed away. That was their death anniversary. April 23, 2020.

"Why are you quite, babe?" Raixen said, breaking the silence that filled inside the car while they are on their way back to the Shekinah's home.

"That passcode is bugging my mind, Rex. What does that mean? My age? Jasmien's birthday? Is that really? Because that was the day they passed away. How can these things be like that? I don't know, my mind is getting crazy that I wanted to get all the deepest information I can get in everything that is connected to my family that I still do not know," Shekinah explains letting out her frustration and annoyance.

"I'm thinking the same thing. I am also bothered about that passcode, I mean, how can your mom comes with the combination of your age with Jasmiens, but when you look at it, it can also be possible babe, you are their first born and Jasmien's the last, that also make sense, but the thing is, how can that number coincidentally matched to the date they passed away?" Raixen said and Shekinah processed all of those words Raixen mentioned in her mind. She is getting information, words to fulfill and to form the puzzle.

Shekinah again tries every possible combination of numbers to open this box she has in her lap while Raixen's driving. Another one to frustrate her, another one to annoy her.

"By the way babe, I found a flash drive in your dad's office. This one was taped inside of a brown paper envelope," Raixen said when he realized he has something in his pocket. He took it off and hand to Shekinah.

Shekinah's eyes narrowed and stared the flash drive intently. She seems like finding something in that thing. "This is taped inside?" she asked and Raixen nodded. "How about other things together with this?"

"Nothing," Raixen answered and they finally reached home. "I don't know if there is something with that flash drive but I just think it has since that one was hidden in there," he added.

"These things are giving me headache. I have to get the memory card in my room, babe. Can you do try again some numbers combination in this box?" Shekinah asked and didn't wait Raixen to answer, she hurriedly went out her dad's office and run upstairs to get the memory card that has been sent in a package along with the letter.

Shekinah didn't waste a time and open her spare phone that she barely uses and inserted the memory card. She run back downstairs where she left Raixen in her father's office. Raixen looked at the door opened when Shekinah enters with her eyes busy and locked in that phone in her hand.

"How was it?" Raixen asked Shekinah.

"I don't know but it says here to mount a sd card! But I have already inserted the sd card correctly, but why the hell this thing is not working?! How about that?" Shekinah answered and asked about the box Raixen trying to open.

The guy shake his head to answer a no. Shekinah closed her eyes tight in irritation, she have to open all of these. She can feel that one of these things can answer all of her questions, she can feel that.

"Can we switch, babe? Can you do this? I'm getting pissed of this sd card and I don't want to throw my phone just because of this sh*t," she said with her annoyed voice.

"Calm down, irritation won't help us a thing," Raixen said, reminding Shekinah who looks really tired and frustrated. Raixen get off from his seat and get out from the room and walk straight to the kitchen to get some snack for Shekinah.

She has been working all these time that she forgot to take meal. Shekinah's house helper came and volunteered to do the snacks for Shekinah and the woman added other two sandwich and made four for him and Shekinah.

Raixen brought the tray of sandwich and orange juice in his hand inside the President's office to keep both of them in sane.

"What is that?" Shekinah asked when she glanced at Raixen with a tray in his hand coming in.

"Sandwich, have this, you are probably hungry." he answered.

Shekinah smiled and take the one sandwich a bite. "Babe, can you open dad's computer, please? I'll check the flash drive," Shekinah said and Raixen nodded and do the thing.

Shekinah set aside the locked box as well as her phone and go to the documents she had compiled while watching Raixen opening her dad's computer and going one by one in the files that the flash drive have.

"Babe, look at this, what does this mean?" Raixen said calling Shekinah with his eyes glued and studying the file name that reflected.

"That's the address---"

"Address? What address?" Raixen asked to the Shekinah who's scanning her sweater pocket to take the paper where the address was written and show it to Raixen.

"Look at that, that's the same right? That number is the number written in here and look at that word, it's the same, that was just written backward but they are the same. Can you open that? Let's see what is---"

Shekinah wasn't able to finish her saying when Raixen click to open the file and it went "encrypted". Shekinah's ass fell in the floor and lean her head in the wall to exhale and breath sharply.

"What is that? Why is that like that?" She angrily said. Shekinah immediately stood up and grabbed her sweater. "I'm leaving," she said that caught Raixen's attention and make him serious. Raixen walked after Shekinah and grabbed her arm.

"I'm coming with you," he said in a hard tone. Shekinah's looking into his eyes and that gives her a serious look that is saying 'I won't take no for an answer'. Shekinah nodded and waited Raixen.

It's just almost 4 pm, they still got a lot of time to go there. Her doubt of that place is now became even more big and deep. There is really something in that place, not sure of the people that lives in there or the place or the location itself.

She happened to woke up inside her car when she passed out outside and near in her car's trunk, that means someone put her inside and she is going to find out who and why.

"What do you have in your compartment?" Raixen asked while having his eyes locked in the road.

"I always have water, flashlight and my pocket knife here." Shekinah answered. "I wish this time I can get the information that I need and bring them when I go back home. I can't waste time and effort, Rex. I need answer." she added.

Raixen nodded because if it happens that he is in Shekinah's shoes, he would probably do the same. He will also trade the deepest secret of the world that can answer all the questions he have in mind and form the puzzle.

"We will. But babe, the person that touches your shoulder that you had mentioned. Were you able to know if that person was a girl or a boy?" Raixen asked curiously.

Shekinah's eyes narrowed trying to imagine and remember if she got a chance to see the face of the person before she passed out. Shekinah sighed and shoke her head.

"No, I wasn't able to even see his or her face. I don't know, everything happened too fast. I would get startled but a fright like that won't lead me to black out. I don't know, he or she didn't touched my nape, he or she just touched my shoulder," she explains still trying to remember what happened before everything went black.

"You could've get killed that time, babe. Don't you ever dare to do such stunts again, alone. You do not know who and what you are going to see there, how many minutes do we still have to drive?" Raixen asked. Shekinah's looking at the car's maze since she didn't open the google map like what she did before.

"30 more minutes," she answered.

Shekinah open her Twitter account and people are still talking about her. Bashing her family, her father because of that rumour that her father has an anomaly during his time as a President and that eager her to find an evidence and prove to these slapsoil people who are calling her father parents some names.

She won't let people taint the name her parents taking care off for decades. She won't let other people ruin her family. They were the best person in earth and no one is allowed to call them names! Stupid people! Shekinah gritted her teeth.

"They won't stop doing that," Raixen said making Shekinah turn her head into him. "You are looking twitter? Everyone is crazy there," he added.

"They won't stop until I prove them that my father wasn't the one who had a black long horn in this country. I will prove them that he is innocent and he is a victim," she angrily said.

Her father was in the business for decades and in politics for less than 10 years, now she actually doesn't have an idea in where among the two she is going to focus because it seems doesn't have a problem with her parents when they were alive. But her guts is telling her to read between the lines and see between the holes.

"This is f*cking away from the city and you went here alone?" Raixen said in a hard tone when they enter the start of uncivilized location. No more houses just the thick grasses around.

"I did," she answered.

"Are you sure we are in the right location, babe? Are you sure we are approaching the right address?" He is clarifying things because he couldn't believe that Shekinah went in this place. He knew how brave she is but when she told him what happened, that made him think that his girlfriend is not afraid of anything or anyone for her family.

"Yes, this is the right place. We are approaching the dead end in 5 minutes," Shekinah said while looking ay the car waze.

"Dead end?"

"Yes, this road has a dead end. It's seems like this whole place is a private property but the fact that whoever can enter here, that's questionable, isn't it? But if it's also a public road, this supposed to be continues but no. There, we are almost there," she said pointing her finger.

Raixen nodded focusing his eyes and mind in this place. He is memorizing every angle of the road they are passing. Shekinah's right, this place seems to be a private property but the open gate of it is a big what and how. Raixen stepped in the gas to pull over when the road ended in here.

"Let's just turn," Raixen said when Shekinah was about to open the door and go out. When Raixen successfully parked the car in the road. The whole place is filled with silence, even the sounds of an animals, nothing, cannot be heard.

"Babe, there's a small way in the middle of that thick grass, let's go there," Shekinah said grabbing her sweater and put her gloves on and hang her sweater in her shoulder.

"Put your sweater on," Raixen said.

Shekinah is nervous, because again, she came here without knowing why she is here. She do not know what is in here.

"I'll go first," Shekinah said and Raixen nodded. The road is for one person only and they do not know how long this road can be and what is in there waiting for them in the edge of this road.
