~Vulcan~
Fear had consumed him, it was eating away at his mind like a parasite, burrowing to make its home there. He had just agreed to openly accept her as his mate and then she disappears, she was supposed to be in the old library and she wasn’t! He had sent out patrols and even went on some as well and to his displeasure, there wasn’t even a trace of jasmine and rain, he was going mad. This solidified his reason to mark her regardless of whether she was ready or not.
He would keep his word and not mate her but now he just had to get her back so he could mark her. At whatever cost, he couldn’t risk losing her, not when he just got her. He sent a fist flying into the nearest wall just as Elias came running up to him, he turned on his heels.
“Tell me you found her or at least tell me you found her scent!” He snapped but his beta shook his head.
“No Alpha I’m sorry it’s like she vanished in thin air,” his beta tried to explain helplessly.
Vulcan was about to tell him to send out more patrols before the door opened and she entered before she could turn he lunged gripping her arms twirling her to face him. Taking in her angelic face, “Where have you been!! I have been searching for hours for you Azula!!” He said worriedly quickly checking her over to make sure she was alright.
Though at her response of being in the library his heart plummeted like an anchor into the sea, trying to ground him in one spot despite the storm wishing to throw him about. He didn’t know how to tell her this, he could try his best.
“Azula,” he whispered
“I looked in the library and you weren’t there,” her face said it all.
She was telling the truth and tightly clutching the book he just now noticed, did it have to do with her disappearance? Was it something to do with the prophecy? “Mark her,”Sol demanded. He wanted to he did truly, but if she had information marking her right now could cost him finding out until it was too late. He had to play this carefully, why were they born into such a complicated mess? Why was this fate chosen for them?
“Little Flame,” he said cupping her face watching with a small smirk as she melted into the sparks despite her worried appearance.
“Tell me what you found,” he said using his Alpha tone as he shifted closer teasing his lips against hers, he wanted her to get flustered and slip up. Perhaps it was not the best way to use the mate bond but he didn’t want to be cruel. He knew being that way with her would result in a standoff with his mate. Her soft gasp caused his eyes to darken with lust despite the situation if her gasp sounded that good he had no doubt that her moan would be the end of him.
“I don’t know what I found yet” his mate answered truthfully.
“I want some time … to myself to look it over” she explained and he rightfully hesitated at her request. His mind wandered to her twin brothers he was keeping a secret from her. Seems they both had something they were hiding.
“Fine,” he said relenting to her request.
“I’m giving you a week,” he said seriously.
“At the end of that week, I want a full report of everything you found, I want you to be open and transparent with all the details.” He explained before making his last demand.
“Also be ready to be marked, I will give you a week for that as well but at the end of this week there is no option other than you being marked.” He said seriously. Though her horrified expression caused him to growl. As she quickly spoke
“You can’t mark me!! Not against my will!” She said seriously as he moved to press her against the wall.
“Repulsed by my mark?” He snapped as he studied her, anger building up within him once again. How dare she? He had given himself to her, finally became willing to accept her as his mate and she doesn’t want to be marked? What utter f*****g bullshit was that? They had been making progress and this felt as if they had taken multiple steps back.
Azula didn’t speak only glared as he growled deeper cupping her chin tightly, angrily. Why was she so defiant over everything! His canines elongated as he moved to press them against her neck. Let this be a warning.
He bit her not hard enough to mark but enough to cause her flames to begin to erupt as he pulled away to keep her from exploding and burning the packhouse down.
“I am going to mark you, either now or in a week, if you choose in a week you will be escorted by wolves of my choosing, or I can mark you now and be done with this,” he snapped knowing he was going to need a drink after this.
“A week” she finally admitted defeat, he released her turning to his Beta.
“Escort her to our room, stand guard outside of it, she is not to leave it without me being notified do I make myself clear?” He said once more allowing Domanice to drop from his voice, leaning into the minds of those around him.
“Yes Alpha” Elias quickly said dipping respectfully before moving off to follow his Luna.
He, on the other hand, was going to his office where he could tear into some whiskey. Entering it as he found another report from Elias regarding Azula’s situation from her old pack. Deciding he should look this over before he started drinking, tiredly opening the beige folder allowing his eyes to scan over the paper.
DNA tests, the results weren’t something he expected and what was there was even more shocking than finding out about her brothers. The woman who raised her wasn’t even her mother, he had thought the scent was off to him, usually, women who had birthed children had their scents altered slightly from pregnancy like a slight shift in hormones that was subtle but if you sniffed it out you could tell.
Something, not pleasant happened in that pack…. And he wanted to find out. He needed to speak with someone… tapping his fingers against the wooden desk before pulling out his phone and leaning back. He had a lot of phone calls to make.
And he needed a lot more alcohol.
