~Azula~
The rest of lunch went by surprisingly well, she had learned many things about him in the time they had shared. His favorite food was Steaks, his favorite animal was an otter which she found oddly adorable, she also learned he was a bit of a musician who played guitar and he could sing as well. While she sounded like a drowning cat, a smile crossed her features as she made her way to the old library located on the edge of the pack borders.
There was an updated library in the packhouse but she wasn’t looking for something updated, she needed something old … very old. Finding the library thanks to his descriptive instructions. Honestly, she had no idea where to start looking, deciding to move around and start off by pulling different thick and heavy books out to place them onto the table blowing the dust off of them which resulted in her coughing and waving her hand in front of her face.
Azula silently began looking over the different books filtering through old splotchy pages, and she kept coming up with absolutely nothing growling her annoyance before she caught something peeking out the edge of one of the books she had brought over to the table. Hesitating before she reached for it sliding it over to her carefully opening the book as she grabbed the folded-up piece of paper. Her head tilted slightly observing it in great detail before carefully unfolding it eyes widening as she realized it was a map, but to what?
She stood spreading it over the table eyes moving over it realizing it was in Latin…. But she did see one word she knew Draco, it translated to English as Dragon. The thing that perplexed her the most is Dragons haven’t existed in a long long time, they were one of the original rulers over the world, of vampires, humans, witches, shifters… it was the dragons who were the originals giving the eternal flame also known as life.
She quickly looked around the room looking for a book to help her translate it into English it took a while before she finally found something that she could reference as she turned to the book’s cover
Fabulae Antiquae
Didymus Flames
She began translating the words carefully before finally having the cover of the book’s name.
Ancient Legends
Twin Flames
Her breath hitched as she allowed a small spark of blue flames to form at her fingertips she had only done this because of the coincidence of it mentioning twin flames and her mate also having flames but when the blue fire illuminated the book cover beautiful images shimmered to life, rising from the book taking life as two stunning phoenix's manifested themselves soaring above her.
One was a brilliant fiery red while the other was a beautiful stunning blue color. Her chest clenched as she watched them dive towards the book disappearing into its pages. She quickly looked around finding an old candle as she used a regular old fireplace lighter to start it. Trying to use the regular flame to summon the image but it didn’t work, once again she tried her flames and the same thing happened.
This book responded to her magic and more than likely it would respond to Vulcans as well, she couldn’t ignore that this book had something to do with the ancient magic they possessed but she had so many questions, why was the book here? Who wrote it? What did this mean, phoenixes and dragons? But what did this have to do with them? They were just regular wolf shifters, who forgot to mention this in the prophecy? but then again… usually prophecies have hidden meanings and they are never straightforward.
She turned to the map once more using the blue flames this time. The Latin words shifted to those in English thanks to the magic she possessed wishing she had known it would have translated from the beginning. Blue eyes drifting over the very detailed map through the vampire’s territory, it was north of here within the snowy capped mountains it was hard to get to, you had to be fast, immune to the intense cold and well .. you get the point. The word Dragon was located in tiny shimmering letters over the castle. She had a bad feeling about all of this.
She decided to advert her attention back to the book, it was a story, about ancient magic, which is probably why it responded to her, a blue phoenix represents opposition and is meant to help your rigidities with flexibility. While the generic red and orange phoenix represented immortality and spiritual rebirth…
This specific pair was part of an old legend that depicted life and death, Morana the Blue phoenix represented death along with the opposition, and Ankur stood for life, immortality, and rebirth. It felt .. all too similar… was this the ancient magic they represented? While he shined brightly willing things to grow .. she destroyed?
Her mind wandered back to the prophecy or at least a part of it “when what is red turns blue will two brothers bring about the death of millions.”
Well, she didn’t have brothers and he only had a sister…. But if what red turns blue means what she thinks it does…. He couldn’t mark her until they figured out what it triggered. He had just openly accepted her as his mate, red was turning blue … he accepted her…… she couldn’t let him mark her not until she figured out what this all meant and what they were supposed to do.
For now she took the map and carefully put it into her back pocket and collected the books she had used, heart racing at the information she was keeping to herself but she felt it was for the best. Placing books over the one that responded to her magic as she exited the library only to see it was dark out! Her jaw dropping as scurried to the pack house, did he forget to grab her for dinner?
Azula entered it only for someone to grab her arms twirling her around as she looked up and spotted Vulcan’s worried expression,
“Where have you been !!!! I was searching hours for you Azula!”
She raised her brow confusingly
“I was in the library where I said I’d be” she said still slightly confused.
“Azula” he whispered searching her gaze with his golden ones..
“I looked in the library, you wasn’t there..” he said concerned.
It felt as if the world was closing in around her and she couldn’t breathe, then where had she gone?
