Alex's point of View
I followed the two girls out of the dining room and towards an elevator, April pushed the button to call it and whilst we waited for it to arrive I started looking again at my surroundings. On the inside, this looked like no other hotel I'd seen. Not that I went on holiday but I'd seen hotels in magazines. The Pool Outside fit perfectly with what I would have imagined, but in here.... There was no reception, no housekeepers that I'd seen, no kiosk, etc. But like I said, I've never gone on holiday!
When the bell chimed on the elevator we all climbed in. April pressed the button for the first floor. I stood in silence cracking my knuckles. I wasn't great with uncomfortable silences. The lift took mere seconds to reach the first floor and we all got out again. We stopped at the first door we came to.
"So this is your room" April said and opened the door. Again a bit weird because she didn't use a key.
"Good Lord!" I let the expression slip out before I could stop myself. The bedroom was absolutely huge. There was a bed front and centre which could easily fit me and five friends in it. On either side were bedside tables which housed their own lamps - It was the poshest thing I think I've ever seen. There was a door on the right hand side of the bed and one on the left. The room also housed a sofa and a giant flat screen TV. I could see at least six remotes on the table to operate it! It was super Hi-Tech!
I opened the door on the left hand side of the room and discovered a walk in closet. It was bigger in size than the bedroom I used to have when I lived with Mary, it was absolutely bonkers! I had nothing to put in it though, so maybe I'd rent it out to family of four to live in and make myself a few bucks - It really was enormous. I staggered out backwards and looked at April, my eyebrows raised in question.
"It takes a while to get used to the size of this place, but I know you'll be happy here."
Happy here.?... You wait until I have my first nightmare, I thought to myself, You'll kick me out so fast my head will spin. That thought really sucked so I decided to go through door number two.
"Holy Crap!" I squealed. The closet now looked like a broom cupboard. I was in love with the Bathroom.
The small family of four I was going to rent my wardrobe out to, could also live in the bath tub. They must have celebrities staying in their hotel. This Bathroom wouldn't look out of place on 'million dollar cribs'. There were two sinks, a rain shower above the bath and a separate 'walk in shower', just in case you fancied changing it up a bit! I had never seen so much luxury. Let alone stayed in it.
"Are you sure this is my room?" I asked April, feeling a little sceptical. I wasn't what I'd consider to be a lucky person.
"Yes, it's yours." April replied smiling at me. Her smile reminded me of something from earlier that I wanted to ask about.
"Hey, that blonde guy down stairs - What was his name again?"
"Oh you mean Charlie" April asked nonchalantly, although I thought she was down playing her reaction a bit.
"Yeah him. He was looking at me in a funny way, like really, really intense."
"I'll uh, just go and chuck the water on for the bath". Lauren said and walked into the bathroom and shut the door.
"I think he liked you." April shrugged. "What did you think of him?"
"I thought he was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen." I sighed wistfully "I felt like I knew him from somewhere too, but not from my dreams. I'd remember if he was in them." April smiled but didn't ask any more questions about it.
"I've been meaning to ask you something about your dreams, Alex."
"Ask away" I said. I wouldn't keep anything from these people that were helping me.
"Well you said that there are Werewolves there?"
"Yeah, they look really scary!" I answered.
"Ok, but you said they don't hurt the children, is that right?"
"No they don't...."I thought for a while before continuing "to be honest they have their backs to them"
For no reason I could fathom April suddenly started smiling. "So in theory, they could be protecting the children? And they look fierce, but look like they're not facing the twins?"
I thought about that for a while. I'd not looked at the dream from that prospective. I closed my eyes to try and look at it from a different point of view, but I was so tired I span out. I thought I would hit the floor, but April managed to grab me in time and haul me back upright.
"Wow you're strong" I said in disbelief.
"Alex you weigh absolutely nothing. My children could lift you." I huffed and went back to thinking about the visions.
"I can't be sure, so you may be right about the Werewolves. I'll look again next time I have a nightmare."
April smiled the weird smile again "Maybe you won't have anymore"
"I highly doubt it, the most I get is a one night jump on them, and they've already found me at Red Moon."
April frowned and chewed her bottom lip. "Well you never know"
I admired how upbeat she was, but I'd had these things for almost five years now and they didn't look like they were going any time soon. That lead me to another thought.
"How many guests are on this floor? I'm being deadly serious when I say my screaming will wake up the dead. I don't want to scare your customers half to death."
"You don't need to worry about that Alex," She reassured me. "And besides the rooms in the main house are all sound proofed."
"Why?" I wondered out loud.
"So that our guests can enjoy themselves properly" She winked at me. Eww Gross.
I must have wrinkled my nose when I thought about that because she said "You don't have a boyfriend or anything then?"
"Um no, I never wanted to start anything that could lead to an overnight stay, plus the nightmares leave me way to exhausted for sex."
That seemed to please April as well. I was about to ask why my virginity was such good news to her when Lauren came out of the bathroom.
"I've ran you a bath little one" Little one? That was a bit patronising! "Do you want the clothes you are wearing washed or burnt?"
My mouth popped open!
"Lauren" April scolded her "Try some tact will you!"
"Too late, I said. They're the only clothes I own, so if you could wash them that would be great. Have you got anything I can wear until they are clean and dry?"
April and Laurens eyes lit up... "I think we can manage a few outfits between us" Lauren said enthusiastically.
They were both looking at me like I was a Barbie Doll getting ready for project make over. I walked into the bathroom and slammed the door behind me.
