Chapter Six - Cerulean Moon

1015 Words
Liam's point of view I floored it all the way to my brothers.  The hour journey took less than 45 minutes, which was a good thing considering the noise that was coming out of the car stereo.  When we hung a left through the perception shield I wondered what the hell Alex would do when the forest disappeared, but she was so distracted trying to keep her eyes open she didn't even notice.  She wasn't even interested in the scenery that surrounded us.  She just kept rubbing her eyes and her temple's desperate not to fall back to sleep. She finally started taking some notice when we pulled up to my brothers pack house.  The building was mostly glass at the front with a swimming pool outside, you had to cross a bridge over the pool to get to the doors.  It looked like the front cover of a luxury holiday magazine! "Wow, is your brother rich or something?"  Alex asked looking at the pack house in awe "Or something"  I muttered. Lauren leant forward and squeezed my shoulder.  I grabbed her hand and kissed it.  I missed my old pack house, but as far as I was concerned I was so much better at Copper Moon - !00% Werewolves.  No chance of me being used as a puppet for evil, I wasn't being dramatic either, that had actually happened to me. I could see my brother waiting across the bridge, dressed all in black, arms folded looking every inch the bad ass Werewolf Alpha, and right next to him stood my Mom.  My Mom is what is known as a "teller" in the Werewolf community - She get's a read off people when she meets them.  She would be able to see if Alex's intentions were good or not.  Alex didn't know it, but she was about to undergo a test. We all exited the car and strolled over the bridge to meet Lucas and Mom.  Lauren and Alex had linked arms, I suspected that Lauren was carrying most of Alex's weight.   "I see your music taste hasn't got much better over the years"  Lucas said throwing me a wink.  Normally I would retort or shove him through the doors, but he was in full Alpha mode due to our guest who he did not trust one little bit.  So instead I wandered over to my Mom and gave her a massive bear hug. "I missed you Mom"  I said giving her a kiss. "You saw me yesterday Liam"  She chided. "Well in that case.  I missed your cooking Mom"  I gave her a huge smile and she swatted me around the back of my head playfully. "Good morning Lauren"  Lucas greeted my mate formally.  She looked at him and rolled her eyes, without Alex seeing the gesture.  My mate clearly thought that the act was way over the top. "Good morning Alpha, this is Alex" Alex looked absolutely terrified of my brother.  At well over 6ft tall and built like a brick s**t house he was very intimidating.  Especially to this little girl, who couldn't have been more than about 5 foot 2 inches and weighed in at around 115lbs. Lucas nodded once at Alex.  "Alex, this is my Mom Lexi"  "It's nice to meet you both"  She said courteously.  Neither my Mom or my brother even acknowledged that she had spoke.  Instead they both studied her intensely.  My brother was giving her a death glare and she was literally withering away right before my eyes. "That's enough now Alpha"  Lauren told him sternly "You must have the information you need." Lucas sighed out a deep breath.  He always said his sister in law would be the death of him.  She always spoke her mind and challenged him whenever she thought he was wrong.  She would argue about the silliest bloody little things and it drove him crazy.  But he respected her and loved her -she was the annoying little sister that he didn't ask for.  He looked at our Mom and raised his eyebrows. "She's genuine" My Mom said to all of us.  Alex looked confused but didn't ask. "Alex I'm Lucas, Welcome to the Cerulean Moon... hotel"  I smirked at him. Hotel indeed! "Thank you,"  Alex replied evidently relieved. "Liam and Lauren said that you might be able to help me with..."  She didn't continue her sentence.  She didn't really know what to call her visions.   I watched my brother then as he finally took a proper look at her.  His eyes softened and he stopped giving her his usual stare down.  He knew she was suffering and it made him feel uncomfortable.  So it wasn't just me and Lauren then? what was with that? "Alex, we will do everything we possibly can, in the mean time you are welcome to stay here and treat this building as your home"  Lucas pulled himself up short.  I saw confusion cross his face.  He couldn't believe what he had just said. "That is very kind of you Sir".  Alex bowed her head.  My brother looked at me with a bemused smile.  I just shrugged.  Lauren tutted. "He's not important enough that you have to bow to him."  She laughed.  "Come on let's get you inside.  I'll introduce you to his wife, April.  She's my best friend and she'll take good care of you.  Plus you'll get to meet our boy Sammy, and the Luna's twins Lilly and Noah." "Who's Luna?"  Alex asked confused. Lauren was about to answer when Alex took a step forward.  Her foot had still been on the bridge, but now she had lifted her leg and planted that foot firmly on the ground.   There was an almighty Roar of thunder that made all 5 of us jump out of our skin!  The building started to shake and a Fissure opened up across the bridge splitting it in two. "What the f**k is that?"  Screamed Alex, she was absolutely petrified. "It's an earthquake"  Lucas shouted above the noise as all hell broke lose around us.   "It's no earthquake, it's her"
