The car came to a halt and they were parked in front of Amber’s sister’s ranch, her heart stopped. Amber dreaded the moment that they arrived on the property, as much as she hated the abrupt stop had scared her; she loved the fact that Nick took the long route, because it had given them time to really enjoy the ride even though it was in utter silence.
