Finn pulled into the parking lot of the popular lunch spot downtown. “Of course, Kai had to pick somewhere packed,” Finn groaned. He rubbed his hands over his face before shaking out his fingers. The random numbness he was experiencing was back again.  He saw Kai waiting for him outside the doors and begrudgingly got out of the car. As he approached the restaurant, he couldn’t help but feel antsy. Adjusting to civilian life had been hard so far.  “Hey,” Kai said, shoving his phone into his pants’ pocket as Finn joined him. “We should have a table any time now.” “Cool,” Finn responded.  “You okay, man?” Kai questioned.  “Yea,” he replied. “I’m fine.” “If you say so,” Kai said.  “Two for Kai?” the hostess called.
