Elliot had refused to come down to dinner, and she was pretty sure he had not eaten lunch. Haisley sighed as she put away the extra food in the fridge. If he was hungry later, he could come down and warm it up, at least. She didn’t hear much coming from upstairs as she took care of a few chores around the house. So far, her new job had not been too hard, but she was worried about making enough money to pay all the bills. After she had washed all the dishes, folded the clean laundry, and ran the vacuum over the carpets, she decided to try and get some sleep. It was getting a little easier as time went on, but she still didn’t sleep well. She often woke up having nightmares about the incident. Being alone at night with her thoughts while she tried to sleep was the most challenging part of
