Chance, Chase, & Katie return to the residence with the 13 pups. Luna Rose, Alex, Ariel, Lucas, & Hannah accompany them with their 7 pups. Even Alpha Jason is with them, Kylie crawling up into his lap nuzzling into his chest, falling asleep.
Katie looks at all the eyes that are watching her. "Well, first things first, we need to name the babies."
Chance speaks up next, "Wells, I have been thinking about this. How does, Jason, Jessie, Savannah, Sierra, London, & Paris sound?"
"I like those," she says grinning. Turning to Jason, "How did you get my daughter to do that?"
"I am not sure, the first time I saw her, she was crying for you. I just wanted to hold her. Ever since she just cuddles up against my chest and falls asleep. It actually relaxes me."
Katie just smiles seeing her little girl look so peaceful. Turning her gaze to the other pups, she sees all of them playing so nicely together.
"What did you want to talk to us about?" Alex finally asks seeing Katie watching the pups.
Katie doesn't speak for a few minutes. Then finally says, "It's pretty obvious that your pups are mated to ours."
"What makes you say that?" Hannah questions.
Laughing, "Please, look at all their development." Katie says looking at the faces in the room.
Chase speaks up, "I have noticed the same thing. Haven't you realized that these kids never fight, they don't look their age."
"So will this age progression continue throughout their lives? They will be older than us soon." Katie says looking worried.
"No, it stops once they are adults," Chase says looking at Katie.
"How can our pups be mates when we are cousins," Lucas asked getting upset. "I am not allowing any of this."
Luna Rose clears her throat, "I can answer that." All heads turn to her.
"Aunt Rose, this is not right. The Moon Goddess would never do something like this." Lucas says shaking his head in pure disgust.
"Calm down my boy, it is not what you think." Taking a deep breath. "When your father and mother found each other, she was already carrying you. We were never going to tell you that, but now it matters."
"My mother would not have done that," Lucas says shaking his head. "She believes in the true love of mates."
"She believes in it because she already had it." Luna Rose explained. "Her mate died, killed by a hunter saving her. You are the only reason she is still alive."
"What?" He says looking stunned.
"Your father and I found her, close to death. We brought her back here, nursed her back to health, and she had you. He never left her side. He promised to take you as his own and love her as his mate. She finally accepted him, because of how he treated you."
"How did I never know?" Lucas says still confused.
"You are his son, my nephew. It never mattered. But if the pups are mates, we can not allow your parent's ability to love to prevent theirs." she said looking at the pups.
Lucas looks back to the pups, "Mates" he whispers. "They found their's already and we never found ours. How is that possible?"
"You regret us being mates?" Ariel asks choked up.
"No, I love you, Ariel," He says kissing her forehead, turning to Hannah, "I love you too Hannah" kissing hers. "Our family is perfect but how can our pups already have mates? How can my parents not have been destined to be mates?"
Katie speaks up, "They were meant to be mates, your mother would have left this pack otherwise, and our pups would have spent their lives looking for each other. That was not supposed to happen. You were meant to stay in this pack."
Just then Alexa falls and Emmett & Evan rush over to help her each kissing her on the cheek. Lucas looks at Katie, "Oh s**t, two."
Laughing, "The sensitive two." Katie tells him seriously. Looking back over the three take off running, holding hands and stop to look at the new babies.
Alex whispers, "That means Rosie & Anna must be for Vincent & Victor?" As he watches the two boys with his little girls. "We all know they are the next Alpha's, so they are going to be Luna's."
"Nothing is certain yet. We have to wait for them to identify each other." Katie tells them. "We could be wrong or have them figured for the wrong people. We need to let it happen naturally. None of us ended up with our original mates, we made our own destiny. They deserve the same chance."
"Katie, baby, we were destined to be mates. We fulfilled a prophecy that was passed down for thousands of years." Chance says kissing her. "Everything happens for a reason, they are mates because I said something that I never thought they would do. Mom locked them in a room." He said laughing. "No one knows how fate will work out. I think we all got our perfect fate, Alex and Lucas have never been happier, The girls, Us, even Chase. We just have to figure something out for Jason there," he says with a laugh. "Maybe mom can lock him in a room."
"No," Jason says looking serious. "I am waiting for my mate unless of course, Katie is willing to dump you, two clowns."
Chase growled at him and Chance gave him a warning look.
Jason laughed, "You two objected she didn't." Throwing Katie a wink. "Let me know when you're ready to switch packs. I have an open Luna position."
"We could kill you and the pack would help hide the body," Chase warned.
Katie laughed because Chance told Chase that exact same thing not that long ago.
"The kids want to share a room. They have been asking for the past month." Chance tells Katie.
"What do you think Hannah, Ariel?" Katie says to the other mom's.
For a few minutes, no one says a word.
"Why not. I think we might as well let them. They sneak off to play together anyways. At least that way we know they are all together and safe." Ariel said breaking the silence. Seeing the look of panic on Hannah's face, Ariel leans over and kisses her. "Relax, they will be fine. They always have guards to protect the Alpha's children, ours will be protected as well."
"Yeah," Hannah says thinking Ariel's words over. "They will protect our pups as well right?"
"Of course, they are just as important to everyone's future."
"Just so everyone understands, the room would be on this floor." Chance tells them.
When Alex tries to object, Chase cuts him off. "You four will also be on this floor. No one is getting separated from the pups."
"When they are older, the girls will be separated from the boys," Hannah says looking quite serious.
"Won't last long, once they figure out that they are mates." Katie laughs.
"We can get the construction done by the end of the week." Chance states.
Alex, Ariel, Lucas, Hannah, Chase, & Katie all nod in agreement.
True to his word, the construction was done by the end of the week and they were all moving onto the Alpha floor. Jason had become more of a staple, coming to see the Alpha family almost every day.
"Uncle Jason," Kylie squealed running up to Jason with her arms out. He immediately picked her up hugging the little girl. "Did you bring me anything?" She asked with hopeful eyes.
"Of course." He said handing her a pretty unicorn blown glass figure. She squealed running into her new room to place it on her shelf with the other glass figures that he had given to her.
"You are spoiling her," Katie told him shaking her head.
"Can't help it." He said laughing. "She's always excited to see me."
The kids all ran ahead and checked out their new room.
