Alena
We were all heading out to head to the airport, but Natalie pulled Ryker and me aside. Ryker has barely spoken two words this morning. He was still worrying about everything.
“Are we any closer to knowing who it is?” Ryker asked.
“No, we are still working on it, but it can’t be your mother,” Natalie said, “She passed away three years ago, a drug overdose,” She added.
“And my father?” Ryker asked.
“We haven’t managed to track him down as of yet, but we have a team working around the clock,” Natalie said, “Have you heard from the person again?” She added.
“No, and I don’t know if that’s a good or a bad thing,” Ryker sighed.
“Ryker, stop worrying about it, OK? We will deal with you, and we have upped security too, just in case,” She said, “I want you to enjoy the rest of the tour, and let us sort it OK? This is a new experience for both of you. Alena has never seen the world like this, and you have never shared sharing the world with someone, so please try to enjoy it,” She added.
“I will try my best,” Ryker said.
“It will all work out,” Natalie smiled, “Now get your asses to the cars,” She added.
We chuckled and headed out to one of the cars. Ryker slipped his arm around, pulling me close to him.
“I am sorry, my love, this is not how I wanted this to go,” He said, “I don’t want to ruin this for you,” He added.
“You don’t need to be sorry, baby,” I smiled, kissing his cheek, “You will not ruin this for me, as long as I have you, that is enough,” I added.
He hadn’t said anything about the death of his mother. Then again, she was exactly his mother anyway, and he has been away from her for years. I wouldn’t bring it up if he wanted to talk about it, he would.
Our first stop was in Paris. He had two nights there. I still sometimes forget just how big he is and how well-known he is all over the world. It was madness, and I still was not used to it.
“I can’t wait to show you Paris,” He said.
“It is going to be amazing!” I said, trying to contain my excitement.
He laughed, kissing me, and we made our way to the airport. Our flight was in two hours, but we needed to be there early because we were first class. I never thought I would be flying first class. It would be another experience for me. It would be a long flight, close to ten hours. I will sleep some of it, and hopefully, Ryker will too. Apparently, there were beds on the flight. That would be strange, sleeping in a bed on a flight. That is if I can sleep anyway. Hopefully, after some time, I will get used to all of this.

We were in the air; everyone settled and fed; most people were already sleeping. Ryker and I were settled in our bed.
“How you doing, baby boy?” I asked, resting my head on his chest.
“Trying my best not to worry too much,” He said, kissing the top of my head, “I am not going to lie hearing about my mother was a bit of a shock, but it doesn’t surprise me that is the way she ended up killing herself,” He added.
“I am sorry, my love,” I said.
“It is OK. She stopped being my mother a long time ago, well, she was never my mother,” He said, “And to think I was doing all those drugs at one point, that could have been me,” He added.
He had a point. I knew he was into all, but I never knew the whole truth until he told me recently. There was a stage where he was taking cocaine every day, staying awake for days, not sleeping, not eating.
“But you stopped,” I said.
“Yes, because of you,” He said, “If you weren’t around, I don’t know where I would be right now,” He added.
“Well, I am right here, always,” I said, kissing him, “I love you,” I added.
“I love you too, beautiful,” He said, “You saved my life, Alena,” He added.
I could feel the tears well in my eyes when he said that to me. I smiled, reaching in and running my fingers through his hair before planting a soft kiss on his lips. We lay there, close and kissing for the next few minutes.
“Ryker, can you please try to get some sleep?” I said.
“I will, as long as you snuggle and go to sleep with me,” He said.
“I promise, I will stay right here with you,” I said.
He stole one last kiss, getting comfortable. He closed his eyes over, and within moments his breathing becomes shallow, and he was fast asleep. I hope he can sleep for more than ten minutes. I stayed snuggled into him.
I was hoping when we get to Paris, he can forget about everything, even only for a couple of days. I would make sure I would make that happen anyway I could. It was Paris after all; there was a lot to do.
“Hey, how is he doing?” Natalie said, appearing at the side of our bed.
“He is OK,” I said, “Have you heard anything else?” I added.
“No, not yet,” She sighed, “We need to keep him busy and distracted the best we can, and I am sure you are the best person to do that,” She added.
“I plan on it,” I smiled.
“I know you will,” She smiled, “Get some rest, it is a long flight, and we have a busy few days,” She added.
I smiled and nodded, Natalie, heading back to her bed. Ryker reached for me, pulling me in tightly to him as he slept. I snuggled into him, burying my face in his neck. I placed my hand over his heart, and I could feel it thud against my hand. I closed my eyes over, hoping sleep would take over me. The sound of his heartbeat and breathing relaxed me, as corny as that sounds, it was true.
I feel myself finally drifting off. I can’t believe that when I wake up, we will be in Paris or closer to the place. The rest of this tour was going to be incredible. I loved seeing more of the US, but I was more excited about seeing the rest of the world. I just hope nothing else comes along and ruins it for us all. I am sure together; we can all get through anything.
