Chapter 5: First casual Meet up

1095 Words
After ensuring everything was clean, I closed the kitchen door and called it a night. Alpha Aeris didn't show up for dinner, and Isaiah instructed me to put the Alpha's food in the fridge. She notified him to leave her food and that there was no need to bring it to her office. Of course, it was too late when he received the message. I was about to deliver her food when I heard a scream inside the office. "Marriage? Are you kidding me?" Aeris' angry, loud voice made me stop my track. "This is for the good of the pack, Aeris. You need to marry- "Bullshit!" she roared, and the next thing I heard was the sound of a crashing table and the loud thud it made upon hitting the floor. I saw the old Alpha cowers in the corner as Luna tried to calm Aeris down. "I didn't go back just to be bossed around," she said. "I came here because it was my brother's dying wish. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't care less what happened to your pathetic trash of a pack. And you dare to arrange me a marriage to someone I don't know!? I'd be happy to kill him and deliver his head to you. How's that sound?" "Aeris, sweety-" "Shut your mouth, b***h," Aeris shouted at her mother. The old Luna instantly shut her mouth. "You are no parents to me," Aeris said mockingly. "You were dead seventeen years ago. And taking the pack isn't one of my plans, and then here you are, trying to control my life. What a pathetic piece of trash you are," she said calmly, but she was far from being calm. "Listen here, you old geezers. The only family left for me is Red—no one else. If you do not call this marriage off, I'll be happy to declare war on the pack you arranged me with, or I'll just let the Greyhound pack attack you and watch you being killed. Choose." I didn't have to listen to their quarrel. I left trembling with fear thinking Aeris could do that with the former Alpha pairs. No one has ever shouted at them as she did. I gulped at her punching the table, breaking it into two. I shook my head, got it together, and needed to go home. I need to rest. I still have work to do tomorrow, and I just can't let Aeris bother me like this. And she scares me. I got up early in the morning despite my lack of sleep. It's Saturday today, and I have part-time work to do in the human settlement. As a college art student, I need to earn cash to buy materials. I can't just rely on the pack's allowance. And besides, my birthday will be in the next two weeks, and I would like to treat Leona in some decent cafe. I work as a tattoo artist. Believe it or not, I travel three hours by bus to my part-time job, which is the place that reeks of humans. I knew our Alpha would kill me if she learned I was working in a dangerous place like this. Human hunters are everywhere, and I knew some of them living here. It took a lot of courage for me to come there because the pay was high and I have regular customers. I checked in and began my day's work when I arrived at the tattoo shop. Because I have a little bit of talent in art, I always have ten or eleven clients, depending on the style they want. I am the youngest tattoo artist here, and the boss favored me more than the others, which is ridiculous because I only work here twice a week. The doorbell rang while cleaning up my station, indicating someone had entered the shop. When I turned back, I saw someone that scared the s**t out of me. "A-Alpha?" I whispered. Aeris spun around when he heard my whisper. Her cobalt blue eyes fell on me, and she slightly squinted her eyes. We made eye contact which made me blush. Oh damn it, I whispered to myself. Why am I blushing every time we make eye contact? Aeris approached me and sat down in my seat. I was wondering and confused as I looked at her. She wanted me to do her tattoo? "I didn't realize you worked here," she stated, her tone filled with genuine curiosity. "Despite being dangerous, hmm." "I do Alpha. But during weekends and temporarily until I graduate." I explained, surprised that I wasn't stuttering. "You're graduating next year, right?" I nodded at her. She rose from her chair and removed her shirt. I was surprised when I saw a lot of scars on her body. Werewolf has insanely rapid healing, but why does her body have a lot of scars? "I got all those from living as a nomad," she said. "Wolfsbane and silver are the culprits," she added as if she didn't fear those Werewolf's nemesis, werewolf killers. "I'd like my tattoo to be on my back," she said. She gave me the picture of the tattoo design she wanted. "Do you want me to c-cover the scars, Alpha?" "No. Put it on the skin without the scar," Aeris replied before removing her bra's lock. I was slightly taken aback when I saw how many scars she had. There was barely any unscared skin. How many wars or battles did she go through to get this huge amount of scar? I found one spot just below her shoulder space on her back. "Would you like me to put it here, Alpha? I asked her, touching the part that I was telling her. "Go ahead," she replied. As I started to work, I tried my best not to get drunk on her scent. She smelled divine. It was a combination of sandalwood and bergamot, which made my mouth water. "What the hell are you thinking? I screamed at my wolf. "I can't help it. Alpha smells so nice," my wolf whimpered. "She is not our mate. Remember that. She wouldn't like a weakling like us to be her mate." The scent created a wonderful aroma that was unique to her. As my work continued, I noticed she remained still, as if she wasn't in pain. And when I finished, the wound incredibly healed before I could even apply some cream. After that, she put on her shirt and looked at me. "When will your shift end?"
