The Fortune Teller

Sylvia blinked not quite understanding what he was talking about. She was sure she hadn't met him anywhere before so why was he suddenly saying that he saw her? They both stared at each other for a while until the boy spoke. "I have the ability to see the future" As he said this, his gaze looked serious. The playfulness that was visible in his expression before disappeared as he continued "And ... I saw you in one of my visions" For a moment, Sylvia felt like she was not speaking to a child. The way he looked at her was as if he knew everything. Her gaze was calm as she leaned against the seat, looking at him with interest "That's something. What did you see about me then?" "Alot" "Tell me one of them" She probed and when she saw him open his mouth to speak, she was expecting to hear something that she might actually believe but instead... "You long for someone" Sylvia "..." Long for someone? Sylvia resisted the urge to laugh. She had never even fallen inlove so how could she?. Now she knew not to take him seriously. She casually took a sip of the wine that was served "And... That person cannot be you right?" The boy smiled, exposing his teeths "I know I am handsome" He got closer and whispered to her "Probably all the girls wants me" but this action made Gerald be at alert as his eyes keenly watched the boy incase he was here to pull tricks. Sensing Gerald's gaze the boy pulled back while Sylvia laughed. He was funny. "But my brother isn't too bad either. I'm guessing you guys will make a great couple. How about i introduce you? He is picky with women but the first time i set my eyes on you, i knew you were the one. My brother will like you too. Come with me hm? i will show you" From being a fortune teller to being a match maker. Well, it was getting interesting. Sylvia wanted to know what else he would suggest but a deep angry voice made her turn her head. "Kai!" Seeing the man who was approaching their table, Sylvia noticed how Kai's expression changed and he quickly stood up, then his lips stretched into a smile that looked so fake "Brother" He called with a charming voice while making a cute face "How come you are here? I looked everywhere for you" The moment his brother reached him, he received a hard flick on the forehead which made him fall back on his seat holding his forehead "Ouch...." Sylvia looked up to meet a set of grey eyes. He was quite handsome and she wondered if this was the brother Kai was talking about. "I'm sorry if he has been a nuisance to you. Please ignore him. It's my fault for not teaching him properly" Came his deep voice. Sylvia quickly shook her head with a rare smile on her face "Don't worry. He was quite entertaining" Hearing this, Kai grinned taking his hands away from his forehead to reveal the red patch that had appeared there "I told you i wasn't going to cause any trouble" His brother glared at him and he quickly went quiet. "We'll be leaving then" He grabbed Kai's hands and started to practically drag him away. "I hope i see you again" Kai shouted back and Sylvia chuckled seeing the way he was being dragged like a rag. He was so cute and funny. Seeing her smile like this, Gerald stared at her "Does he make you that happy? I have never seen you smile like that ever since that day" He was surprised. The smile slowly disappeared from her face when she realized this and she started to eat again without saying anything back. .... Only when Kai was dragged completely out of the restaurant was he released from his brother clutches. "Ouchh... Why are you so fierce with me" Kai complained but only received his brothers glare. "I told you not to wander around and go telling people useless stuff about their future" "I didn't tell her anything. i Just..." Kai seemed sad when he thought about something. " I can't stop myself from seeing it okay?" His brother looked so frustrated that he wished he could just punch a wall "Have you forgotten what you were told?" Kai finally looked guilty as he lowered his head "I know. It's just... That woman..." He sighed "Her future looked so rough and uncertain. It was sad" He looked up to meet his brother's eyes "I saw her die Kel" .... When Sylvia and the rest finished eating, they found a place to spend the night and the next day, they continued on their journey. The moment they entered the town across the mountain, a commotion was heard and Sylvia saw a woman running towards her. Before she could move away, she was hit. The woman ran past her and a moment later, a set of men ran past her too holding weapons. Sylvia's eyes widened when she realized what was going on. A witch! They were pursuing a witch! Gerald hurried towards her as he helped her up. His eyes narrowed at the scene that was playing before him. That witch was already weak and very soon, she will definitely be caught... and burned! "We have to help her" Said Gerald but Sylvia remained quiet. She didn't say anything and just watched. 'The witches who goes into the werwolves territories on their own and without being given a mission is definitely none of her business' She always said these words and has been true to them. She wasn't going to start going against the rules she set for herself simply because she was asked to. Just as she had predicted, the witch was caught. Her hair was messy and they binded her hands together with a kind of material special designed for a witch. It will make them slowly weak until they give in and fall unconscious. "Please don't kill me. I swear i haven't caused any trouble. I have been leading a decent life here for two years. Don't kill me" As the woman was taken past her, Sylvia could actually hear the rest of her words which she hadn't dared to say out. ' Who will support my children when i'm gone? Kayla, Leila, i'm sorry. Forgive your mother for being a witch' It was as if she was already resigning herself to her fate. In this world were the supernaturals were seperated from other creatures, Sylvia wondered what they were going to do to the woman. As she followed behind them, she could tell that they surely were not going to burn her then what were they going to do? When Sylvia saw a car in the distance and saw them approaching it, she frowned then moved quickly to stand in front of their way. Stopping them from moving. The bald head man who was holding the woman glared at her then stared her down. "Who are you?" Instead of replying, Sylvia pointed to the witch who was now looking at her with hopeful eyes then as if the witch realized something about her, her eyes widened and she would've covered her mouth in shock if her hands were not binded. Sylvia secretly threw her a warning glare. "Isn't she a witch?" Silver asked and the men looked at each other before nodding. "We have caught her and we are taking her away for judgement" The bald head man replied and Sylvia smirked. "But... This is not the way. I remember its' the other side right Gerald?" Hearing his name, Gerald stepped forward along with the others "I remember it's the other way too. I wonder where they want to take her" Seeing this, those men glanced at each other and it was already obvious to her that they weren't among those given the rights to pursue witches. So what were they? "The king wants to have a talk with her. So we are bringing her to him first" "Ahhh... now that sounds so much like a lie" Sylvia said as she got closer and stared straight at them. There was a playful look in her eyes but to them it wasn't playful at all. They felt like if she could speak like this, then she wasn't someone simple "I doubt you have seen the king before even being given an order by him. I work in the king's mansion and of course i know this types of mission would be assigned to official guards and you..." She smiled at the bald man "You don't look like you have any post right? How about i report you right now?" Sylvia took out her phone and dialed a number but the men had quickly let go of the woman and ran away as if something was chasing them. Sylvia now stared at the witch who was left behind. Her eyes were overflowing with gratitude and she quickly got on her knees as she bowed. "I'm sorry i didn't recongnize you earlier my queen. Thank you for saving me" "Take your children and go back to your rightful place. You won't be saved twice" Sylvia's words were cold and scary that it frightened the woman. She nodded her head furiously as she promised to return. The woman remained in her kneeling position with her head facing down as Sylvia walked passed her along with the others. She couldn't believe that she had met the queen in person and the rumours about her were definitely true. Still, she felt grateful. Really grateful that she was saved. If she had the chance, she would repay her one day. For now, she needed to escape this place with her children.
