It wasn’t until the curtains swept back that Lexie realized she’d forgotten to tell Nic she’d written It’s Complicated. Funny how life was totally imitating art. Her pulse went from fast to super sonic. Her stomach roiled. Stage fright and she wasn’t even up there. Nic held her icy hand surrounded by his two warm hands. So he had to feel her mini freak out. She felt his worried look and tried to answer with a reassuring smile. His steady presence helped. The guilt didn’t. And no time for an “oh, by the way…”
