Lily had closed the door behind her, looked at her daughter and said, “We’ll talk later, darling.” Because the show must go on, they’d left for the party. And it had gone on. Lily had shone brighter than Lexie had ever seen. It almost felt like every other show. The first reviews started showing up sometime after midnight. Most of them online. Most of them beyond good.
