Chapter Two Nic almost expected his mother to emerge when he finally let himself back into his apartment. She would have waited up until midnight and would be…unhappy with him. He could and would stand his ground, but he was glad he didn’t have to face her yet. He needed some time before she tried to rain on his parade.
