Mason Fu's cold eyes shot out a glimmer of frost.
"Are you the child's family?"
The old man's gaze shifted away from the child. Although he was angry that these people were treating Ah Yu so carelessly, he still maintained a degree of calm and composure.
"I am the child's grandfather."
Mason Fu snorted lightly, "Your grandson fell into the water because this girl risked her own safety to jump into the river to save him, and now you treat her so roughly? Is this your way of repaying her?"
The old man frowned slightly and looked at Nancy Gu.
When he saw Nancy Gu's appearance, his originally murky and deep eyes suddenly froze in shock.
This girl actually resembled Jin En quite a bit when she was young; there was at least a seventy to eighty percent similarity.
However, Jin En came from a prestigious family and had a gentle temperament, which made her appearance more serene and elegant.
In contrast, the girl before him exuded a cold aura with a hint of defiance in her brows and eyes.
The two had very different temperaments despite their similarities.
"Grandpa, quickly look at Ah Yu; his complexion is terrible!" the girl exclaimed anxiously.
The old man snapped back to reality and looked worriedly at the little boy.
"Quickly take Ah Yu to the hospital."
"Yes!" The bodyguard stepped forward to carry the boy away.
"Don't move him yet!" Nancy Gu called out to stop them.
The old man frowned at her.
"Young lady, considering that you just risked your life jumping into the water to save Ah Yu, I can overlook your unauthorized acupuncture treatment on him this time, but Ah Yu needs immediate medical attention; you can't save him."
Nancy Gu's cold eyes revealed a resolute expression.
"Give me five minutes; I guarantee he'll wake up once that time is up."
The old man's face remained indifferent as he did not speak further.
Instead, it was the nearby girl who was furious: "Who do you think you are? Just because you jumped into the river to save my brother doesn’t give you the right to dictate here! Ah Yu's situation is critical; those five minutes could cost him his life."
"If anything happens to Ah Yu, no matter how many lives yours are worth, it won't be enough compensation."
Nancy Gu ignored the girl's accusations and kept her gaze fixed on the old man while waiting for him to make this crucial decision.
Given the boy's current condition, it would be difficult for him to hold on until they reached the hospital.
After all, it's about saving a life—one she retrieved from drowning—and she couldn't bear watching him become a corpse. The old man pondered for a moment: "Alright, I'll give you five minutes."
"Grandpa..." The girl protested in dissatisfaction. "Ning Yu, Grandpa has already made his decision; let her try," he replied firmly. The girl furrowed her brows tightly and stamped her foot in frustration. "Grandpa, you'll regret this decision."
The old man didn't argue back but looked deeply at Nancy Gu with wise eyes. "You have these five minutes—but I want my grandson awake."
Nancy Gu said nothing more but straightened up and quickly inserted several remaining silver needles from her cloth bag into the boy’s back. Ning Yu watched every move Nancy Gu made closely—afraid she might hurt her brother even more afraid that Nancy’s acupuncture skills might not be sufficient and could cause further issues for him. Mason Fu glanced over at Nancy Gu; her drenched school uniform clung tightly against her body revealing a white T-shirt underneath while long hair soaked from being submerged in river water hung loosely down both sides of her face with droplets continuously dripping down strands of hair.
Her lips appeared pale and nearly transparent while those small ears flushed bright red indicating clear signs of catching a chill. Mason Fu turned toward Luke Bai: "You carry him." Luke Bai thought Mason Fu was tired and hurriedly stepped forward to take hold of the child while mimicking Mason Fu’s actions by laying him face down across his legs. Meanwhile Mason Fu stood up picked up his coat that had been tossed on ground walked over beside Nancy Gu without hesitation draping it over her shoulders.
