Chapter 26: She Resembles Someone

"Others couldn't be saved, and you collapsed first." The man naturally helped her adjust her coat.

Nancy Gu looked up at him: "Your clothes are wet too." He had jumped into the river to save someone; his situation wasn't much better than hers. By giving her his only coat, he would now be exposed to the cold wind.

Nancy Gu thought about taking off the coat to return it to him when a slightly cold hand grabbed hers, which was tugging at the clothing.

"I’m a man; I can withstand this bit of cold."

While they were talking, Leo Ye, who was constantly checking the time, urged, "Five minutes are almost up. You said my brother would wake up; why is there still no sign of him?"

Nancy Gu didn't explain but reached out to remove the silver needles from the boy's back and then raised her hand to pat his upper back a few times.

The little boy suddenly spat out several mouthfuls of water.

"Cough cough."

After a violent fit of coughing, he emitted weak moans. The sound was faint but heard by those nearby.

Old Mr. Ye and Leo Ye excitedly gathered around.

"Ah Yu... Ah Yu wake up; grandpa is here for you."

The boy gradually regained consciousness as Old Mr. Ye personally took his grandson into his arms.

At that moment, an ambulance from the Pingcheng Military District Hospital arrived just in time. The doors opened, and a group of medical staff stepped out.

Leading them was a young man wearing a mask. Surrounding tourists noticed the large characters on the ambulance that read "Provincial Military General Hospital," casting curious glances.

"Did we really call in the military hospital? Who requested this ambulance?"

To summon an ambulance from the military hospital indicated significant status even without knowing who was involved.

The leading doctor moved through the crowd and approached Mason Fu and Luke Bai.

"Jason Fu, Luke Bai, are you both alright?"

"We're fine; please check on this child first," Mason Fu pointed towards the child in Old Mr. Ye's arms.

The male doctor nodded and went beside Old Mr. Ye to perform a preliminary examination on the child’s body.

"The child has awakened but we cannot rule out fluid accumulation in his chest cavity, so he needs further detailed checks at the hospital."

"Alright! I'll take him to the hospital; Ningyu, go home and tell your parents that we've found the child."

"Okay, Grandpa."

Old Mr. Ye handed his grandson over to medical personnel before walking over to Nancy Gu.

"Young lady, I must first apologize; I underestimated your capabilities earlier. Furthermore, I want to thank you for saving my grandson’s life—if anything happened to him, I wouldn’t have lived long either—your kindness has saved our entire Ye family. If possible, please leave me your contact information so I can personally express my gratitude after settling Ah Yu at the hospital."

Nancy Gu didn't want any thanks from the child's family and certainly didn't wish for this incident to escalate unnecessarily.

"I just happened upon it; there's no need for thanks."

Seeing that Nancy Gu refused to leave her contact information, Old Mr. Ye took out a business card from his coat pocket and offered it to her.

"This is my contact information; if you need help with anything else, feel free to call me using this number."

Not wanting to refuse an elderly person outrightly, Nancy Gu politely accepted the card.

"By the way, what is your name?"

"Nancy Gu."

Old Mr. Ye stared at her silently for a moment: "Miss Gu is from Pingcheng?"
