Chapter 76

Samika's POV

"I need your help, Nyle" I say again and this time he is nodding at me.

Until now he was busy thinking. But somehow he was staring at Devon as he did that, making me wonder if he still has any grudges or whatsoever.

"What am I supposed to do?" Nyle asks me and it feels different to be standing here, opposite him and talk about something werewolf related.

Suddenly, my mind reminds me of days I actually noted the questions down on a paper that I wanted to know about. Questions related to werewolves. And Nyle laughed when I pulled out the paper from my pocket.

And how things have changed now! I am not just an Alpha, but a Madfur by birth. Who knew? Who would have seen this coming?

"You still have the keys to Alyssa's home?" I ask him and he nods. I received an information that Alyssa and Timothy have both fled from here. I don't know where they are, but wherever they are I hope they are safe.

"I want to shift a prisoner from here to there. And that should be a secret. I hope you don't mind staying at that place for a few days. Of course I'll send guards too and you will all be in disguise," I whisper and he nods, totally understanding.

Paxton's father wouldn't even guess this move. He knows my home but he wouldn't even suspect that the home right beside mine is where his son is.

I actually expected a blow by now. But maybe he does not like his son as much as I thought him to like. Whatever the reason, now that I know many things I want to be on the right track.

"Great. I'll make the arrangements," Devon says and I nod. But Devon doesn't leave without kissing me. It is to poke Nyle again and again about how he is the one I chose. He is just rubbing salt on Nyle's wounds. And we shall have a discussion about it later.

Even dad is enjoying the show. But when his eye landed on Nyle, that's when Nyle shivered and took a step back.

I agree my father can be scary, and not just that but there are several incidents in the past where he beat up Nyle. Nyle once told me he heard his bones crack like they were popcorn and I didn't know if I should feel pity for him or afraid of my dad.

But now, they are both afraid of me. Maybe that's life.

Dad walks out, but two guards follow him everywhere. For now he is free to walk on pack lands just because he has so much of valuable information that I can use for this war.

"How are you?" Nyle asks me, just when I am about to turn around to leave.

"Yes. Fine. How are you?" I ask him as I take a look around. He has minimal furniture and knowing his cooking skills, I wonder if he is starving himself.

And just when I am about to offer him help if any that he needs, I catch another Alpha's scent. But it takes me only a moment to realize that the only other Alpha who can enter the pack lands without permission is Alpha Judith. Nyle's mate. The one who he said he would never have feelings for.

I turn to face her but she is glaring at me. And before I get a chance to process, she punches me in a way that I don't see anything.

I actually don't see anything right now.
