CH: 5: Strang Girl In the Park

Delta’s POV

In the High school

I parked my black Scorpio car in the school parking lot and entered through the back side gate of the school. Ian told me their school was arranging some kind of funfest for students and parents. And he got one of the stalls for Funfest. He and his two friends were going to help him. They work hard for that stall. This is why Ian wants me to come and see his talents. But now he must be upset and didn't focus on his stall for sure.

‘But now I’m here. Let's cheer for him.’ I walk straight to the school grounds. Ian already told me, that their stall was arranged on the school grounds. So I have to go there. That path was from here.

“Mom….” I heard a faint crying sound. As I was passing through the pathway that was hidden from snow, the last snowfall was very much. This was very low but my wolf ears still heard a sweet girl's voice from a distance. There was such a yearning in that voice that the untold bond pulled me towards that place.

As soon as I entered the garden, a lovely fragrance hit my nose and my body shivered. My wolf nose is still able to catch that sweet scent in the winter season. It makes my heart feel warm.

For this reason, I feel surprised by those scents. It seemed I had smelled this fragrance somewhere before. I couldn't remember the place and person.

Estranged!

I feel an indifferent connection with anyone these twenty years. Now I want to know who is the owner of these scents. Thinking of this I followed the sweet scents and the sound of crying. A coding to sound this must be a high school girl's voice.

Why is she sad? Has someone hurt her? Or did she get hurt herself? The thought of her hurting makes me angry.

This is not good. Why is her voice affecting me? I walked faster and reached near a bench under a tree.

There she was sitting on the bench.

It was her! Something moved in my heart as I saw her. Her face was hidden so step forward to see her clearly. But my feet froze in place when I smelled another strong scent coming out of the girl.

She is not a human. She is a werewolf!

Ian told me there are less werewolves hidden in school for their personal reason. But one thing is clear that all wolves in school hide their identity from humans. Ian and Jade also keep their identity hidden. Wolves students keep each other's identity and help each other keep their secrets.

So this girl must be one of them. My mind becomes alert. Now I have to think what should I do? Should I go to her? Or should I leave her alone?

With this thought in mind, I stood at a safe distance from the bench. I have to take care that no one gets into trouble here because of my powers. I know how protective werewolves are of strangers they encounter. They don't even talk to anyone without any reason. If the girl considers me a threat, she may even attack me. That's why I thought that keeping an eye on that girl from a distance was better for me.

I saw the girl was wearing a light purple hoodie and navy blue jeans with white snow boots. Her burgundy long hair is still visible from her necks on both sides. Her hands are pure white, like she forgot to wear hand gloves. But she is a wolf so she can stay in this cold weather. Both hands hold her mobile as her right leg taps nervously on the snowy floor. Her hoodie was covering her half his face. Perhaps she had hidden her face on purpose so no one would see her crying.

"I miss you, Mom." The girl murmured as she looked at the screen of the mobile phone held in her hand. I felt the desperation in the girl's voice.

I know…

I know the pain of not seeing my mother. I try to remember about my Mom and all I get in return is nothing but a headache.

I look back at the girl. Seeing her crying for her mother, my heart also melted.

‘I hope her mother will be safe.’ Thinking this, curiosity started increasing in my mind to know about her mother, so I gathered courage and went to that girl. Other hand, I didn't want that girl to cry any more.

But the girl stopped crying because of the sound of my footsteps. She quickly wiped her tears. So I was thinking right, this girl was crying secretly here. So it means I disturbed the girl. I hope she is not angry with me.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to bother you. I heard you crying so I came here. Are you okay, miss?" I said quickly.

“Yes, I'm fine. But who are you?” The girl asked in a sad voice as she looked at me.

“I… I…” I didn't know what to say anymore.

Her eyes!

Those were the same eyes that I had drawn on the paper in the morning. The color of the girl's grey eyes was different from the woman I saw in the dream, but her eyes’ structure was the same.

Am I dreaming?

Why are her eyes so similar to that woman?

Let me check her face once again carefully. Her face was not at all like that woman at all, but her eyes resembled hers. She must be younger than me.

"Hello… Hello…! I am asking you something. Where are you lost?” The girl tried to get my attention by waving her hands in front of my face.

I stopped my wild thoughts and turned my attention back to the girl. I'll find out what connection between her and that woman. But before that, I have to leave.

“Sorry, I'm leaving,” I said in an apology tone and turned to leave.

I had never talked to an unknown girl before. Only Jade girl that I talk to. So I don't know how to talk to the girl. Mostly she is so beautiful, I have never seen a beautiful girl like her. I feel my heartbeat become faster. I'm feeling so nervous, it's best I leave from here, before I embarrass myself with the first cute girl I meet. Ian and Jade will laugh at me if they know I'm shy. But that girl stopped me before I stepped forward.

“Wait! Where are you running?” The girl asked while standing in front of me with her hands extended blocking my way to go.

“I am not running away,” I said, moving back from her in panic.

I have to avoid the girl's touch. So my powers remain under control. I don't want my power to harm anyone, especially this girl whom I feel close to.

“Then why didn't you answer my questions? You don't know that coming to school without permission is prohibited. And I haven't seen you in this school. You are not a student of this school, right?” Bella said, looking carefully at me head to toe.

“Yes, I am not a student of this school. But I came here to meet my brother. He had called me for today's funfest. I was just passing by when I heard you crying. So I…came here.” I told her in one breath.

Damn! Why am I so nervous in front of a cute little girl?

“Oh, you heard me crying. I tried my best not to make any noise. How did you hear? One minute you… You’re a wolf.” The girl said after smelling the fragrance of me in the air.

“Yes. But don't be afraid, I won't hurt you. I'm a friendly wolf.” I said quickly.

I saw that the girl looked at her phone once again and a shadow of sadness appeared on her face. She sat back on the bench.

No-no-no!

Don't cry, dear!

Your tears are precious gems. Don't waste them.

What the hell am I thinking?

And why?

She is just a wolf girl.

My mind started getting restless. Why am I getting affected by her sadness?

I was an expert in controlling my emotions. I trained myself to control my emotions because Grandma didn't like me showing emotions. Today my morale seems to be broken by a little girl.

Suddenly, I remembered something. I search in my coat's pockets. I finally found what I'm searching for. I quickly took out the chocolate bar from my pocket and held it in front of the girl.

The girl looked at me, as she smelled the chocolate.

"Chocolate!" The girl said looking at the chocolate. I saw sparks in her eyes.

So she likes chocolate?

“Please, don't cry like this. Eat this chocolate. You feel better.” I said in a nervous voice.

I hope she takes it. When I was sad and alone, Jade always gave me chocolate to cheer me up. So this chocolate cheers her too.

The girl extended her hand and took the chocolate from me. I feel so relieved to see her taking the chocolate. She opens the chocolate bar and takes a bite.

Now I can leave from there. Her face became lighter.

“Have a seat." All of sudden, the girl said in a low voice.

“Huh?” I looked at the girl with a confused face.

Does she want me to sit? But why?

“Please, sit with me.” The girl said in a sweet voice and also pointed to the place next to her.

Without thinking anything, I sat next to him. If she really wants me to sit here. But I maintained my distance from the girl.

"Here, take this." The girl held a piece of chocolate towards me.

“No-no! I have given this to you so you stop crying and your mood can improve.” I shake my head as I say that.

“I don't like to eat alone. Please, give me company.” The girl said with a faint smile.

Finally, I saw a little smile. I feel so relieved. I nodded my head and took a piece of chocolate from her. I put chocolate in my mouth. I found that chocolate was sweeter than before. The girl also started eating chocolate.

"You….” I tried to find words to start a conversation.

I didn't even know her name. What's worse is that her sweet scent was overwhelming for me.

“Bella…” The girl said all of a sudden.

“Huh?” I looked at her in confusion.

“My name is Bella. And yours?” The girl asked by extending her hand.

Hearing the girl's name, there was a strange stir in my mind.

Bella!

Her name also affects me.
