His Secret Admirer

CHAPTER 12

Elijah POV

What happened to our baby was very bad. I felt like I was the one who caused her miscarriage. After I received a phone call from Steve that night, I immediately drove to the hospital. They said that she was still in the operating room. I was confused about what had happened.

After waiting for an hour, the doctor finally came. He told me that she was getting a miscarriage because she was overly stressed these last few weeks. Judith stopped taking the supplements and taking care of herself. I didn’t know about that. I was too busy with my job. I was such a terrible husband and dad.

I waited for her until she woke up, and here comes the hardest part. I had to tell her that we had lost the baby. Our precious baby.  I was grateful Judith still let me be with her through all this.

I wanted to start from the beginning with her, and I think buying a new house is the first thing that I should do. I picked a house that was a bit far from the city because I just needed to spend more time with her, without any distraction. So when the doctor told me that she could be discharged tomorrow morning, I got a little bit nervous. Will she like the new house that I bought for her? I carefully picked the house myself, considering all things that she liked. I hoped she liked it as much as I did.

She didn’t ask me to leave, but I still felt distant from her. I wasn’t even sure she would allow me to touch her again. Trust me, being in the same bed with her without being able to show her my affection is not easy. I had to wait until she fell asleep to get closer to her. I hugged her from behind, feeling the warmth and softness of her body. I made a lot of mistakes. If only I could go back and rewind everything from the beginning, I would not do things the same way. Maybe we wouldn’t lose the baby.

This morning I woke her up with a kiss, half hoping that she wouldn’t punch me in the face. When I was still in the middle of deepening the kiss, I felt her kissing me back. Her hands went to my hair. She tugged them lightly, earning a low growl from me. It’s been more than a month since the last time we had s*x.

When her belly grows bigger, I felt very cautious about touching her. We didn’t have s*x as much as we used to. I took off her pajamas, leaving her only in her lace underwear. I try to take it slow because she just got surgery last week. But the slower I get, the more impatient she gets. I got surprised when she took off my clothes forcefully. It always turned me on when she was in control. We ended up having two rounds of s*x. By the time we finished, I felt very worn out and satisfied.

“God, that was amazing,” I said. I was sweating a lot. She slept on my chest, and we both chuckled together. “I know, right…It’s been a while.” Judith said, sighing in relief. I wanted to stay in bed with her the whole day, but she convinced me to go to the office.

She was standing behind me, watching me as I prepared myself to work. She liked to watch me getting prepared. She even picked out the suit and the tie for me this morning. After I finished with my tie, I turned towards her and planted a kiss on her lips. The s*x that we had earlier was amazing. I felt as if it was the first time we were doing it. I wished I could make her change her mind.

“I’ll come back earlier today. We’re going to have dinner together.” I told her before I left. “Sure, I’ll be waiting for you at home.” She said, smiling at me.

Judith POV

I learned to accept the fact that all people make mistakes in their life. After all, we were all human being. I am not a saint either. That’s why I decided to give Elijah a second chance.

He was being supportive after the miscarriage. He even leave the job just to accompany me the whole week at the hospital. I know it was a huge sacrifice for him. I know how busy he was, running his empire, but he still made an effort to be with me.

This new house is huge. I spent the whole morning exploring the new house. After I felt tired, I eventually felt a little bit bored. I was thinking that I would surprise him today at the office.

I would bring him some lunch. I packed up his favorite food, beef wellington. When I was dating him, I learned how to make them because I know how much he likes it. Now I could proudly say that I was the master of beef wellington.

I changed my outfit and put on a bit of make up. If we wanted to have a healthy marriage, both of us had to make an effort. I told the driver to take me into his office.

It took about an hour for us to get into the office. The house was a bit far, but I like the fact that it has many trees. It was so peaceful, and it was definitely the kind of house that I wanted to grow old and spend the rest of my life in with Elijah.

It would be even better if we can stay with our grandchild later as well. It was big enough it could fit five families in it.

“Mrs. Penn…” the receptionist greeted me the moment I walked into the office. “Is my husband here?” I asked her. “Oh, yes… I believe he was in the middle of the meeting.” She replied.

“I could wait. Thanks.” I told her before I took the elevator. My heart was pounding loudly as I waited for the elevator. This was the first time I surprised him in the office. I was just curious about how his reaction would be when he saw me.

When the elevator went open, I was surprised to see Elijah with Rebecca. She was pushing him to the elevator wall, and she was kissing him passionately. “Elijah!?” I yelled, and he pushed her away.

The lunchbox in my hand slipped away and fell to the floor. “Judith, I can explain. This isn’t like you think.” He said, his face went pale. Rebecca gave me a sly smirk. I wanted to rip that mouth so badly.

“You’re a f*****g liar!?” Tears fell down to my cheek as I ran away. “Judith, wait!” Elijah said, calling me.

Obviously, I ignored him. I crossed the street, a few cars honking and cursing at me because I was passing when it was on the green light. I stopped when I suddenly heard a crashing sound, like something got hit behind me. I turned around and found that it was Elijah.

He just got hit by a car, people started to scream.
