Filzer was surprised that Cain didn’t know of the last sage’s death.
"I didn't. The sage never told me anything about it."
"Ah. I think I know why."
Filzer managed to catch Cain's full attention. This was because Filzer spoke in a very relaxed manner that didn't fit the information Cain knew would come out of his mouth seconds later.
"As you may know a dead person can't do anything to the living. It can't interfere with anything as long as it is a living creature. However, that is not the case for a record. A record can influence a living person's life. Do you get it?"
Filzer had his forefinger lift up as if he was lecturing in front of a class. Cain, now, had understood why the last sage couldn't tell him everything he wanted to know.
The last sage wanted him to adjust in this world with his help. He wanted Cain to not be suspicious; he must go out and show his existence to the world.
And with that consideration in his mind, Cain found out that he would soon need to reveal his existence for the world to see.
'But not now. It's still too early.' Cain thought as he locked himself in his own world making him unable to notice Filzer's gaze.
“Anyway, I wanted to tell you that if you want to appear as normal as possible whilst having to experience something you didn’t experience in your past life, then it’s like killing two birds with one stone don’t you think?”
Cain narrowed his eyes at Filzer.
“I’ve been noticing it earlier but it seems that you know too much about me in my past life.”
Cain stated with suspicion in his eyes. He thought that Filzer would somehow feel guilty if he did something wrong and avoid his eyes but contrary to Cain’s expectations Filzer didn’t do anything. In fact, he looked at Cain straight in the eyes and spoke.
“I caught a short glimpse of your life while you were undergoing the process of body modulation.”
It was half true and half lie. Filzer didn’t lie when he said that he saw Cain’s past life, however, it was not just a glimpse.
It was more than just a glimpse. Filzer had seen almost all of the years that Cain had lived in his past life.
Although, the memories flew past so quickly that Filzer didn’t get to nail some of Cain’s memories into his thousand year old brain.
“Well, more important than that. You really should do what I told you. You would learn not just anything about this world but also the principles of core and how to use it.”
Filzer brushed the topic off.
“But you can just teach me. Since you have lived enough years that must mean you already have a lot of insights about the principles.”
“You… It's still different when a human teaches you first. Don’t you want to know if your learning pace would be faster than the humans or demons?”
“Of course, my pace will be faster since I have already experienced using ki.”
“Must I remind you again that ki and the core may be similar but they are still completely different with their own traits and quirks.”
Cain had shut his mouth after hearing Filzer’s argument. The Ancient Dragon was right. Although ki and magic are similar, both were actually very different.
‘I guess… it wouldn’t hurt to try this old dragon’s advice.’ Cain thought. His thoughts were more or less displaced in his face that Filzer had realised that he had already taken his advice to heart.
“Good then that is that then. The best magic school in the human world is called Noblesse Academy.”
Cain’s eyebrows twitched. He had a feeling that he wouldn’t fit nor even like to get involved with the people inside this academy.
“Uh, the name sounds so not my type.”
Cain commented truthfully. He had the urge to share his thoughts all of a sudden.
“I know. However, this is the best school in the human world and the only school that teaches magic.”
Filzer had a look of pity on his face as he replied to Cain’s disbelief of a comment.
“Haaa. I guess I have no choice. You’ll help me enrol, right?”
“Before that, there are things that you need to know about that school.”
Filzer cut off Cain's thoughts of enrolling.
“First of all, that school only accepts people of noble birth, however, there are times where they accept talented commoners. Second, the said time will be held in a year. It was actually every ten years and luckily this year is the t
10th.”
Cain listened carefully at what Filzer had to say. After all, he already decided to take Filzer’s advice seriously.
“Finally, there is an age requirement, well, it’s not like that will pose a problem for you.”
“Right.”
“You must enrol inside the school as a commoner. So, you must wait for less than a year. But, of course, it’s not simply waiting but training ferociously aggressive.”
At that time, Filzer had a benign smile befitting of his age, however, it didn’t suit well with his young and handsome face. That was why Cain Filzer rather looked like some wicked scamming bastard.
“I know the perfect place for such training.”
Filzer then created a small gap between his domain and was about to step outside.
“We’re going right now?”
Cain asked and looked at the small gap that was gradually growing slightly bigger enough for the both of them to pass through.
“Of course. And don’t forget to change your appearance into a kid’s.”
Filzer had a slight frown in his face as he spoke. This was because he thought that Cain would have no problems about it as was in a hurry just now.
“Do I really have to?”
Cain grumbled and looked down on his body.
“Of course, you need to get used to having a teenager’s body if you're planning on infiltrating the academy.”
“Don’t phrase it that way.”
Cain nonchalantly replied and switched his appearance without any complaints anymore.
“Where are we training?”
He asked and Filzer immediately had a bright smile as he answered Cain’s question.
‘I liked his wicked smile more than that.’ Cain thought as he looked at Filzer’s smile which made him feel the chills.
“It’s near where humans reside but it is also a place where limited humans can go in and out and that is also considering their courage to enter the place.”
“Sounds like a dangerous place.”
Cain commented with a rather uninterested gaze.
“Yeah. A lot of strong humans don’t come back after going inside every year.”
Cain walked to the gap and Filzer moved to let him enter the rift that will lead them outside.
“The humans call it the Great Lands.”
Filzer said as Cain stepped outside before following him soon.
