Chapter 8 - The Ancient Dragon (3)

“This is my dimension. It is called the ‘void’ where nothing exists. Although that was what the people outside of this dimension says it is actually not the case. I just control this space however I want. You might be guessing why you haven’t peed or soiled yourself, that’s because I’m controlling you.” The Ancient Dragon proudly explained the characteristics of his spatial dimension. “So, back to my question, do you want to regain the years you have lived?” Cain let out a sigh but the side of his lips were raised. After seeing this the Ancient Dragon already knew… “Of course, this comes with a price. What is it that I have to do?” That Cain would want to get back the years he had lived. Cain looked straight at the Ancient Dragon’s eyes as he spoke in a serious tone. He was determined to do anything just to get the years he had lived in his past life. This is not because he didn’t want to start out a new life as a baby, although everyone was an infant at first. It was because he thought that there must be a reason why he was reincarnated into this world. And he thought that whatever that reason was, it would most certainly not be a light one. Cain didn’t want to restart completely from the start while knowing these facts. He needed to be prepared and he was going to right now. “This space’s time runs slower than the space outside. A hundred of years spent here is equivalent to fifty of years outside a 500 years inside is 250 years outside. In other words, the time spent in this dimension is double the time spent outside.” Cain nodded his head as the gears inside his mind started to work, especially the gears which were responsible for mathematics. “Then a thought occurred to me, what if I created a dimension inside a dimension? What will happen?” Cain thought once again how dragons are geniuses and nodded his head. Dragons are the entities that are most skilled when it comes to magic. The more a dragon knows about magic the more skilled and experienced a dragon was. This was the case for the Ancient Dragon and because it was an ancient Dragon Cain had expected that this dragon was even more exceptional than any other dragon out there. “I tried it once and succeeded in my first try. The result when we speak about time is that the time in the second dimension runs even slower than that of the first dimension. For example, a 100 years spent outside is 200 years in the first dimension and 300 years in the second dimension.” The Ancient Dragon stopped speaking. Silence took over them for a few moments and in those few moments Cain started to question why they were talking about dimensions and time. Cain’s confusion must have been pretty visible on his face because the Ancient Dragon sighed and shook its head. “I guess you don’t get it, huh? I’m telling you to spend the time you lived in that second dimension!” The Ancient Dragon slightly raised its voice. Cain suddenly felt flabbergasted. He was just thinking that he needed to prepare and it was to prepare fast. If he spent his new life up to his former life’s thirties it would be more or less 10 years outside. For Cain, who was in a hurry to grow stronger in order to find the reason why he was reincarnated in this world and fulfil it, ten years was too long of a time to prepare. However, his worries were washed away by the Ancient Dragon. “Oh well, that would be the case for normal circumstances but that is not what’s going to happen to you.” “What do you mean? How can you even change the process…” Cain stopped in the middle of his sentence. He felt like he just spouted some nonsense and so he immediately shut his mouth and decided to trust the Ancient Dragon. “I’m a dragon.” The Ancient Dragon said as a matter of fact. “Well then, let’s get to it. I must warn you that the process will take at least a month in this dimension.” Cain nodded his head. He was willing to spend 30 day of fast and efficient process rather than thirty-plus years of long and annoying preparation. “That’s more like it.” Cain commented but he started to feel iffy after seeing the wicked smile in the Ancient Dragon’s face. “Hehe. Then, brace yourself for the impact…” The Ancient Dragon paused in the middle of his sentence as a dark purple mana started to come out of the Ancient Dragon’s massive front paws. It was gathering slowly at first before it suddenly burst out of the Ancient Dragon’s whole body. Cain felt like he was just standing in the middle of an explosion when that happened. Massive amount of mana then rushed towards Cain. He used his small arms as a shield when the massive dark purple mana rushed into him. It looked like it was going to surround him and suffocate him to death. He even thought that the massive amount of mana would shapeshift into a spear and make a whole in his body or maybe even disintegrate his whole body. “For you will be engulfed by excruciating pain for a whole month.” In that moment, the massive amount of mana surrounded Cain's body. It felt like someone was tickling him which made him confused. He thought if this was the excruciating pain the Ancient Dragon had told him, then his and the Ancient Dragon's definition of pain were extremely different. However, Cain had soon taken back what he said. A moment. A moment was all it took for the tickling and slightly tingling sensation from all over his small body to turn into something like being struck by tens of hundreds of lightning all at once and continuously at that. His vision blurred as he screamed from agony. He thought that he saw the Ancient Dragon's devil's smile before he lost his consciousness.
