In front of a large window with the spectacular view of the sunset and the city below, a man with black hair stood while staring outside the window.
Even with the spectacular view coming from the sunset, the man wore a stoic expression in his face, his mind wandering somewhere else.
'It's been a week since I last saw her. What could have happened to her to not show herself for the past seven days?'
The man was thinking about the girl who has been following him secretly everywhere he went. It was a girl he saved back when he was still the former King's protector.
'Cain, I love you, my son.'
The man, Cain, frowned after remembering his mother's last voice before she died. He placed his palm on his forehead after it ached.
'Why am I remembering that now?'
Cain held unto the window and steadied himself after feeling his body become heavier. He sighed and walked to his bed turning his back on the sunset.
Cain felt his body becoming heavier with ever step he took. He barely managed to reach his bed before he threw himself on it.
"I must have been too tired from today's events." He murmured to himself and closed his eyes.
Cain moved his heavier than usual body to the side and felt the warm sun touch his face and blinded his eyes. He was about to stand up to close the curtain, however, he couldn't move at all.
His body was now so heavy that he could lift himself anymore.
'What's happening?'
Cain thought after trying to open his mouth but couldn't. In the end he let it be as another thing took his attention. His breathing was becoming more and more heavier and he felt as if his chest was being squeezed by a boulder. Soon enough, Cain's consciousness leaving him.
'Am I dying?'
Cain couldn't breathe anymore nor can he hear anything. He knew that if he didn't breathe any longer he would die, but he couldn't do anything because even if he wanted to he couldn't do it.
Just before Cain loses his consciousness he hears a mechanical voice. Although he was on the verge of death he still managed to think where the voice came from because his sense of hearing isn't working anymore.
[The soul extracting is currently operating. Soul extraction is at 99%.]
'Who's there?'
Cain wanted to ask but because he couldn't open his mouth he just asked it inside his head. He thought about where the voice was coming from when it spoke once more.
[Soul extraction is at 99.3%...99.7%...100%.]
'Is it coming directly from my head? Is this some kind of telepathy?' Cain wanted to ask once more but the voice ignored him.
[Soul extraction completed. Preparing to reincarnate it to another subject. Reincarnating soul 1%...18%...45%...98%...]
Cain felt as if he was floating the moment the voice spoke once more. Unlike how he felt earlier, like how his body was being crushed by a large boulder, now Cain felt like he was a feather being carried by wind, no, it was like he was the wind himself.
[Reincarnating soul ...100%. The system will temporarily be on silent mode until the new subject has completely come out…]
'What the hell is it talking about?'
Cain already knew that the voice he had been hearing this whole time was not from a person. He hadn't heard of a person having such a mechanical voice in his whole life. However, the longer he thought about it the more he couldn't understand what it was or where it came from.
Because Cain was so focused in his thoughts he didn't notice that he was now feeling normal again. His senses had returned to him, although they had slightly regressed to the point that it was like a newborn baby's.
When he came back to his senses he finally noticed that his senses returned and that he can't see nothing but a light ahead.
'Huh, a light?'
Cain instinctively knew that he should go to the light. Although he might have not known what the source of the light was and if it's dangerous for him to be near it, he couldn't care less. All he knew was that he should definitely go to that light.
Cain moved his body, but for some reason he could only take small movements. He felt as if his limbs had shrunk incredibly and he couldn't move them properly according to what he wanted.
'Just what is this place? I feel like something is pushing me to the light.'
Cain felt nervous about the force pushing him toward the light, but after a minute nothing happened to him. The only change the occurred was that he got closer to the light. After deciding to just let himself be pushed toward the light, the nervousness inside him settled down.
After waiting for some time, Cain was already in front of the light and the moment he came through it a brighter light had blinded him.
Cain squinted his eyes and moved. However, he momentarily froze. He was being held. It was not just simply being held because Cain felt the hands holding him to be big.
'What the hell?'
Cain squirmed as he opened his eyes. For a moment, he let his vision settle because it was blurry. He heard a voice.
"Madam, he looks just like the Lord!"
'What? Madam? Looks just like the Lord?'
Cain's vision became clearer and he saw an old woman. Right after Cain laid his eyes on the old lady he felt chills all over his body.
'She is talking about me.'
Cain realized that the old lady addressed him when she said 'he looks just like the Master'. His realization became more clear when another woman became visible through the range of his vision. Cain, once again, felt chills.
"Oh, what a cute little baby boy!"
He wasn't getting chills because of the sight of the women. It was because the women in front of him had horns. The old lady and the middle aged woman beside her both had horns.
'They… have horns.'
