Axel’s P.O.V
The next morning I woke up after barely having any sleep, but I still didn’t say anything to Selena about what had happened. There was one person I needed to talk to, one who would understand what I was feeling, thinking and going through and that was Mercury. I got out of bed and went to the bathroom, took a shower, then came out and got dressed. I was nearly at the door when Selena stopped me and I could feel how worried she felt through the mate bond, which meant that she could feel how uneasy I felt.
“Axel, what’s wrong? Please talk to me.” Selena said, making me sigh.
“Selena, before I say anything I need to talk to your dad, okay. I promise after I talk to him I’ll be back up and we will talk, okay?” I asked and she quickly nodded. She must have understood on some level what I was going through because she didn’t ask any questions or try to pressure me into telling her, which I was grateful for. I kissed her cheek and forehead, then walked out of the bedroom, going straight to Mercury’s office. I knocked on the door, but didn’t wait for an answer before I walked inside. Mercury looked up from his computer and when he saw me he looked a little surprised that I was here. Maybe he thought after last night I was going to leave, but I had no intention of doing that. The only thing I had the intention of doing was asking questions.
“Mercury, we need to talk. I need to know how you cope with this? How do you go on with your life after you go out and do the things you do?” I asked and watched as Mercury took a deep breath.
“Axel, close the door and sit down, son.” Mercury said and I did as he had asked.
“Listen, I know you're still young and I know that this is hard for you, so I’ll tell you how I go on from doing like I did last night. The answer is simple, my family. After doing something like I did last night I come home and be with my wife. I hold her tight and spend time with my family. Yeah, it's still in my head, but I block it out. You have no idea what I do and will do to keep my family safe, but now you know. Cheyenne never asks what I do, but she figures it out sometimes and there was one time when she came with me. We never talk about these things, but she is always there for me. Well, now you know what I do, so what are you going to do, Axel?” Mercury asked, making me think about everything that he had said.
“Well, I now know why people are scared shitless of you, but I’m not leaving, I’m not leaving Selena. I thought about everything that happened last night, everything that you told me and I understand. I came to terms with it last night that I would do the same as you. I would do anything for my family and I would have done exactly the same as what you did last night. I would kill everyone that tried to hurt or kill my family, I would hunt them down and kill every single one of them.” I replied and Mercury nodded.
“Well son, welcome to the family. You asked me last night if you could buy some of my territory to build on and be closer to us, well, my answer is yes and no. I will give you some land, but you don’t have to buy it, just take care of my daughter because you know what will happen if you don’t. I have already called my builders, so you should call yours and then you can start building. I think it's best if we keep some trees up that way it will act as a boundary before our territories and also there won’t be any confusion. I’ve already spoken to my builders about it and asked them to leave two hundred trees between us, but you will need to link or call yours as well, so we can start on it.” Mercury said and I quickly nodded, happy that he had agreed. Mercury showed me the land he was giving me on a map of his territory and I was shocked with how much he was giving me..
“Will do.” I said and began mind-linking all my workers and the rest of my pack.
“Everyone, we are moving packs to be closer to my mate, your Luna’s family and their pack. We need to make a start on the building, so can the builders please meet at the location I will be sending you briefly. Everything will be fine, I promise.” I said, mind-linking my pack and then letting them know what's going on, where we were moving to and only to take wood for the cabins and houses. I asked them to also get some from our old territory. I ended the link and then turned my attention back to Mercury.
“Alright, I have let my pack and builders know, but I was also wondering if I could invite my sister to visit here.” I asked and Mercury nodded, so I began linking Mia.
“Hey, you want to come and meet the one and only Alpha Don Mercury, Luna Cheyenne and my mate, plus the others?” I asked, mind-linking my sister.
“Hey, yeah sure, that sounds fun. Let me finish up here and I’ll be there.” Mia replied, mind-linking me back and then ended the link.
“Okay, my sister Mia will be here shortly to meet the family.” I said and he nodded.
“That’s fine, the sooner we meet the better.” Mercury replied, looking back at the map as we started planning.
Unknown’s P.O.V
I had to run for two days just to tell Eli about the wolf he wanted, but he wasn’t going to be happy with what I had to say. I ran onto the territory and straight to the pack house, right to his office. As soon as I burst in through the door Eli stood up and scowled at me.
“Damn it, I told you not to do that…” Eli said, but I quickly cut him off.
“Eli shut up and listen to me. The wolf you want isn’t white, she’s a pure black wolf, an Alpha wolf.” I said and he looked pissed off.
