Thanksgiving Day
It seems unreal how much weight I have managed to gain over the last few months. My blood work is terrific, and my headaches are almost nonexistent. Noah and Dr. Mitchel found a new medicine for me to try that seems to work well with me. As a result, I am able to drive and be more independent for the first time in years.
"John, today is the day. I am calling my mother," I say to him.
"Are you sure? What if it goes bad? I do not want you upset on the holiday," John says.
He is right about one thing, it will probably go wrong, but I want to do it. I want to call her and tell her about the baby. Leah will be here soon, and I want her to know. She is my mother, and I feel like I need her to be there for me.
