Finding Her

Edward's POV

'Everyone under 18 and not turned, Wear your f*****g gears and helmet' I yelled out as we started to gather near our bikes ready to move as soon as we can.

I looked up at the full moon and shook my head.

'Why did she has to go out today of all days?' I whispered to myself.

Of course I knew why.

Maria, was the mother of my boss, Xander, and even if I didn't belong to this pack or their family, she has always treated me like her own son since I have come here.

She was aware about my problem and the curse and has taken it upon herself to help me with that. She was stubborn in that way, more than my boss, more than me. Since today was Full Moon, and a Priest has told her that, if she goes to the woods and worships today to the moon goddess, she would be able to find my mate.

I had told her again and again, to not go. Since we already had a party at the mansion and it was a full moon. It was dangerous. On top of that, she wished to go alone. Not letting any of us go with her. But still Boss had decided to send two boys from the pack to follow her. Rookies.

Only after she was in danger had they called us and informed us about it.

'I am gonna kill them' I muttered again, putting the key in and raising the throttle to the highest, just waiting for others to get on the bikes.

Even if they were werewolves just like us, we couldn't turn in front of the humans. First we have to reach the woods and only then transform.

'We are ready!' I heard them call and didn't waste another second to pull my bike in the gear. It was a 1000cc sports bike, so I knew that I would be reaching the woods before any of them.Their 300 and 600ccs would be far behind me. But I didn't care. As far as I know, I could take them all if it comes to saving that stubborn woman.

The woods were not that far away, or else Boss wouldn't have let his mother go. But still it would be difficult to find her as we weren't aware about the exact location she was at.

'Go in different directions. Half of you go in East, Half in West and the rest come with me' I had already commanded them to do so with the in-ear piece we all have on us. It wasn't just for the times we rode together for us, but more for when we were out on missions.

'I think the cops are on our tail' I heard one of them say in the mic and shook my head

'For f**k Sake' I cursed but didn't stop.

We couldn't stop right now since someone most important to me was in danger.

I turned a little to look back, moving only the top half of my body, while my hand was still on the clutch.

There were at least two visible cop cars which were following us. I knew that with my speed and bike I wouldn't be caught, but the rest would be.

Taking a deep breath, I felt the wheels in my head rolling and I switched the network to call my Beta, Noah

'There is a tail on us on 30th North, send some guys from behind and try to distract them. I can't compromise this mission now and I want all the boys here with me. Got it?'

I didn't wait for his confirmation since I know the Beta would understand and obey my commands without my questions.

One thing was handled and we were almost there to handle the second.

I switched the channel again and spoke into the mic

'I am there and I am going to hunt that SOB who had dared to touch my mother'

Hopping off the bike and putting it on the side, I strode towards the entry of the woods.

It has been a while now since I have been here. Staying away from humans that belonged to city, and not being a threat to them in any way had been my top priority. Even if I didn't care if I hurt them, I couldn't put the rest of the pack in danger. Looking up at the full moon again , I cursed inwardly.

'I am hoping for your safety that my abualea is fine'

Even though I didn't believe much in all of this, that was the only person Boss's mother believed in.

I had been already a little inside the woods when I heard the rest of the bikes arrive there as well.

'You all know what to do right'

I spoke again, this time not needing the mic, since I knew they have started to transform now.

'I am going to search in human form only, I could hear you just fine, so let me know whenever you find her'

The sudden growling from one direction got my attention. It was not the pack. These growls sounded like they were hungry, hunting by not to hit but to eat.

I let out a sharp breath and closed my eyes

'You all heard it right. They are not domesticated ones. They must probably be Rogues, not belonging to one pack, they sound more feral and with no proper training. You have to be careful when you attack them and take them down. They won't have any code for the packs. They can tear you apart if they felt threatened'

This wasn't a good sign at all. It meant that Maria was in more danger that we had expected. It wasn't an enemy pack. It was a feral pack.

I couldn't tell Boss now since it would get him more worried

'Try to approach them calmy and when they are not prepared, lunge on their neck and hold them down'

'We found her!' I heard one of them say, but he sounded worried, his speech was slurry
