Chapter 9

Cindy pov

I couldn't believe he came back for me. He told me to hurry up and pack a bag and we left. But once we were almost there he pulled over and started talking to me like I was the one that was going to start trouble. I really wasn't in the mood for this. I truly wasn't but I had to listen to him now. But I wasn't going to stand by and let him talk to me the way he did.

Something tells me he had found his mate. And when I find out who it is. It's not going to be pretty. He's mine and I won't let him go without a fight. What Reid had said. Let him do what he needs to do. But watch him to see if he is about to betray him. I won't let that pack go. So he needs to grow some balls and do this and get it over with, so we can be together and i'll be able to be the luna. If he can't grow some balls then it will be up to me to make this happen. I have the vile for it. Reid gave it to me before I left. I will make it happen,

Alpha Reid pov.

When Conner came back. I thought for sure that he was going to challenge me, instead he had to bring Cindy with him he didn't tell me what for. I really didn't care as long as he's going along with the plan, I had to mindlink someone to see how they were doing. They told me they were arguing. That's nothing new to me. I knew what she was doing, I gave her a vile to give to Conner to make sure he does what he is supposed to do. And if he doesn't. I know she will. It's all going to plan, all she has to do is put the vile in her drink when she drinks it, the poison will start working. Let's just hope they don't catch on.

Mariah pov

They were coming up the drive way toward the gates. I saw her on the passenger side of the truck. My heart was beating so fast that it felt like it was going to beat out right out of my chest. Alyssa was looking at me. I knew she could hear my heart beating like crazy. She grabbed my hands in hers and made me look at her.

"Mariah, Listen to me okay. By any chance she won't know what any of us looks like. You could be me. I could be you right?" She walked behind me and brushed my hair with her fingers. This felt so weird, she undid her hair and then put my hair and a high ponytail. She walked in front of me and made some of my hair around my face.

"They're perfect. He will catch on when I go to him and tell him that the alphas daughter is nervous and she would like to talk to him. He will get the clue. Let's just hope she didn't see a photo of me. If she hasn't everything will be alright. I even mind linked mom and dad. They are going to play along until tomorrow. That's when she will leave okay. Let's just hope he will catch on."

Conner pov.

We finally made it after a silent drive to his pack. she was still pissy and I really didn't care. I just wanted to get this over and done with. And then tomorrow take her back home and I will come back by myself this is just for only one night thank the goddess, the same guard I think was named Helm came to the gate when I drove up.

"Hey man, I see your back. I think the Luna's daughter is going to be happy to see you. And I see you brought a friend." He turned to look at her. His eyes wide. And so was hers. She suddenly set back. What the hell was that all about?

"Go on and drive through, I'll be there shortly." now why would he be there shortly. Things are getting weirder by the second.

"Cindy, do you know him?" she shook her head no. She didn't say anything else. She just calmly set back and watched the road ahead. I think I know what's going on. I couldn't help but feel a little jealous. But yes there is a but if I can just act like I care just a little bit. She would try and comfort me and go to Helm, it might just work, but I have to be careful about this. We drove up to the pack house. Were two girls standing. Both my mate and Alyssa Jordon's daughter, but Mariah looked younger. Now what are they up to. I stopped turned the truck off and jumped down, Cindy jumped down and came to my side she stood beside me and held onto my arm. I knew what she was doing. She was telling them that I was hers. Alyssa came forward. And said softly.

"Conner. Your mate is nervous. She knows this girl right here is your chosen. And she is beautiful. But she needs to talk to you in private".

she looks at Cindy, and kindly says.

"I know you don't like this. But please understand he is her mate as well. While they talk I'll show you around. And I promise, he will be back soon enough. It's just talking, I promise." I knew what was going on right away Mariah was acting like Alyssa that's the reason why her hair was up. I just hope Cindy hasn't seen a photo of Alyssa or we are up s**t creek.

"He can go and speak with her. I would love to take a look around. I know it must be hard for her knowing he chose me to be his mate thinking he didn't have one. Conner. Please be kind to her. Let her down easy." I looked at her like she was crazy. Let her down easy. s**t this woman is my true mate. I am not about to let her down easily. I had to say something to her. Even if she didn't like what I had to say.

"Cindy, honey, did you forget what we talked about in the truck on the way up here. I think it's best for you to go with her and take a look around and enjoy it. You might even see some rabbits or even deer," she stood back from me with a hurt look on her face.

"Don't be like this ok i whispered to her. I caressed her face with my right hand. Be kind Cindy, show me who I fell in love with okay," she slowly nodded as she walked away with Alyssa. She looked back at me only once trying to figure me out. I softly smiled at her pleading with my eyes to be the girl I once fell in love with, she nodded and walked away with Alyssa. I turned back to look at Mariah.

"I'm sorry Mariah, please do not hate me."

"I don't hate you Conner. You are my mate. Come on, let's go see Alpha Jordon. He wants to talk about the marriage thing. And see what we can come up with. I held her hand in mine bringing it up to my lips kissing the back of her hand. I felt the sparks. The sparks I wanted to feel so badly last night. I pulled her to me holding her tightly

"You look beautiful, baby. Come on and let's get to the office. If it is you that I marry. It will make my whole life," she hugged me back, then we walked toward the office. She knocked Jordon said

"Enter." she opened the door and pulled her on my lap.

, I'm sorry you haven't found your true mate, maybe when you do. You two could have a conversation and see what will happen. I know you love Conner. But just how wonderful it will feel when yourr in your true mates arms feeling the mate bond,"

"I'm sure it will feel amazing. Have you found your mate Mariah?"

"No not yet. But I will sooner or later. Everything will be okay. And if I don't find him. I will still be alright. I want to travel the world first. And if I find him before then. Maybe he could come with me." but only time will tell." we jumped when we hear a throat being cleared both Helm Conner and Mariah aka Alyssa was standing there listening to us. Helm knew to play along. Helm walks over to sit by Cindy, Conner growled. We all looked over at him.

Conner please don't do this. You have your mate. Let me see what and where this goes. Helm I'm sorry but Conner is my chosen mate. I really don't know what to do right now. She looks down then takes something out of her pocket. Then looks up at Conner and Mariah shaking her head. Then looks back over Helm.

"Listen all this $hit is fu+ked up. I know your not Alyssa, I know your trying hard to not hurt me Conner. I know you been Alyssa all along. I just wanted to get to know you. But this is what your father has planed for you Conner. He has told me about the plan, I had to go a long with it so I would be let out of that smelly cell. So listen carefully you might be pissed off at me but i had to do it because if I didn't he would kill me. When you left to come here he came to my cell to see how I was doing. He also had the very person that I thought he won't never find, my sister. She was the one that was suppose to be here today not me."

"Wait, what, you have a twin sister?"

"Yes I do. But alpha Reid had kept her hidden. She was the one that was in the office that day laughing and joking. It was her that was in the shower with you when you told her no. He came to the cell and told me of his plan, he planned on blamming you for everything. He was going to tell alpha Jordon that it was all your idea to get this pack away from him. My sister is his mate. And she wants all if it. He wanted me to watch you having fun with my sister. I begged for him to stop this. It was a bad idea. But he told me if I didn't go through with this. He would find away to kill her without him doing it. He gave me this" she opened her hand to let us see what was in it. It was a small Vile. With liquid inside.

"It's poison to give to Alyssa. To make her want to marry you Conner. I wanted to be rich and be the luna. But I didn't want it that bad. We need to figure out how to out smart your father. Because he will know something is up if we came back all happy and all." Helm took the vile out of her hand and smashed it on the ground. Conner came over and kneeled in front of her as she set down.

Cindy, are you willing to reject me for your mate, she shook her head no.

"If reject you my sister will feel it. We can't yet. But you haven't marked me just yet. So it won't hurt as badly. But my sister Conny would still feel it. We have to wait until the very last minute to do it. That way if she tried to attack she will go down,"
