His Unexpected Mate

chapter seven.

Isabella

We have been driving for god knows how long we are both tired I know the horses are getting tired as well. Ugh... I'm ready to be out of this truck.

Mandy is driving we got about half an hour till we will be at Clara's place.

Mandy sent her a message letting her know we are close.

Clara replied and told her where to go once she was down the driveway.

Dave has called a couple of times to check on us he said Chris didn't come back at all which made me worry a little I wonder what he was up to. I know he will be looking I just hope he doesn't connect everything.

Mandy sent Brian a message letting him know that Chris had gone to her place looking for him. Dave gave him the story we put together.

Brian just said alright...

We turned off the main road onto a dirt road it wasn't a big road it seemed to go on for a while. It twisted and turned we came up to a gate it opened when we got close we followed the driveway down for a little bit when I see a huge brick house off to the left...

It looked more like a mansion it had a big white porch that looked like it wrapped all the way around to the side of the house. People were working in the gardens that were just by the house.

I noticed another building behind the house that looked to be a garage it was just as big as the house.. how many vehicles did that have in it...

We passed the house we went to the right we came around a small bend there was a big beautiful brick barn.

We stopped in front of the barn I just sat there looking at it ...

It was well-kept people were coming in and out with horses. people carrying tack ... I was starting to get nervous I haven't been around so many people in a long time Chris never let me.

Mandy gets out.

"Hey, You Coming?"

She says as she closes her door I snap out of my thoughts open my door get out and walk back to the trailer. Mandy is starting to open the trailer door. I know these horses are ready to get off this trailer they need to stretch their legs.

We see a lady walking towards us. She was a tall lady with long blonde hair that was pulled up into a ponytail. she was very pretty.

"Mandy !"

We hear her say with excitement in her voice .. Mandy turns she walks over to the lady they hug each other.

"It's been too long," Mandy said to the lady

"Yes!! it has been. We have so much to catch up on."

"But first let me in introduce you to Isabella .." Mandy says to her.

"Clara this is Isabella.." Clara extended her hand to me I shake her hand.

"It's nice to meet thank you for helping me.."

"It's no trouble really when Mandy called me I was more than willing to help you," Clara says to me.

I just look down feeling embarrassed about her knowing what has happened to me.

She sees my look she walks closer to me putting her hands on my shoulder. "Please don't feel embarrassed or unsafe here no one knows anything but me. You are safe here no one will find you."

I relax a little with her words.

"Thank you," I say to her.

" Now let's get these tired horses off this trailer let's get them settled in that way you guys can come up to the apartment to have a rest.."

We get them off Clara walks into the barn. I'm walking with duke while Mandy leads the other horse.

Clara leads us down the aisle around the corner. There are two stall doors open she says to put them in there.

The stall is a good size there is another door on the backside that's open it goes out to a paddock so they can walk in and out to stretch their legs after being on the trailer for so long. I take Duke's halter off he walks out into the paddock looking around.

Clara comes back with another guy. He has hay for them she says he will look after the horses while we go to finish unloading my stuff so we can go up to the apartment.

Chris

I'm driving home after work Brian still wasn't home when I left. I figured he is longer seeing how he said he was looking at horses.

I wanted to get home to see if Isabella did what I had left for her. I told her we would go out for dinner if she did everything.

She doesn't go out unless I allow her to when we do she is not allowed to speak to anyone.

I get home walked through the door and noticed there were no sounds nothing I call her but no answer.

That's strange she knows to answer me. I walk to the kitchen and see the list I gave her this morning on the counter.

I turn walking to the living room nothing is moved she is not in here.

I walk to the bedroom again nothing. I notice her cell phone on the bedside table I open it no calls or texts.

I go to her clothes no clothes are missing. I see her bag I grab it looking through I see her wallet is missing but everything else is there.

I instantly feel my blood boil. Oh I know she didn't leave oh wait till I get my hands on her she gonna have a punishment like never before.

I storm out of the house jump in my truck and peel off the only place she can run to is her friend Mandy's. I race all the way there I fly up the drive stopping in front of the house jumped out I'm banging on the door there is no answer. Dam It...I walk off the porch around to the barn where I see Dave.

"WHERE THE HELL IS SHE!!!"

He stops and looks at me.

"Where's who?"

"Don't play dumb with me. I know she is here where is she? I want her NOW...."

"Look if you're looking for Isabella she's not here. I haven't seen her since last Saturday when she was here for the day.

Mandy is not here she left yesterday to deliver horses. You know duke left yesterday. She has one more to drop then she will be home. Do you want me to call her to see if she spoke to Isabella?"

"No," I say "I'll find her myself .. Do you know where duke went?"

"No," he said. "Mandy made the deal I wasn't in on it all I know is the lady lives out of town."

I just turn walking away from him. He to calm for my liking he knows something he just not saying it. He and Mandy have been friends with Isabella since before we met he would be upset if he thought she was truly missing. I get back in my truck grabbing my cell... Dialing it I wait for the person to pick...

"Hello.."

"Hey man I need a favor I'm on my way over now it's important.."

I hang up and start driving... Oh you just wait Isabella you want to run.. I can play I will find you, and you will pay for it.
