Mother Nature and Father Time

Grimaldey I sat across the living room with my adorable wife sitting on my lap and watched my son's eyes glued on us waiting for an explanation. Donna caressed my hand and smiled at me encouragingly, I never thought it would be so early after our son was born, that we have to tell him our story. - Dear Lord... Where should I start? - I asked out loud and Donna pinched my cheek over her shoulder. - From the beginning. The very beginning. - I've nodded and cleared my throat. - Before Earth had been created, there were two lonely comets who wondered around the universe. When their ways finally crossed each other's, they collided and created the planet Earth. These comets were your grandparents, Time and Nature. - Hold on for a second.... Tata and Nona?! - Dean asked with his jaw dropped and I've nodded. Donna stood up, walled to our son and closed his still open mouth. Then, she walked back to me elegantly and took her seat next to me. - May I? - I asked and my lovely son nodded slowly, still at awe. - So, after they met and created Earth, Mother Nature and Father Time, wanted a family for themselves, and from their love two children were born. Their names were Life and Death. - I saw Dean outting two and two together and his eyes widened even more. Yeah, it must've been completely shocking to hear that your father and Aunt were the first really living creatures upon Earth. - They let us play on Earth and as your Aunt got bored, she started nagging our mother for new friends. Whatever she thought of, mom created it for her. Soon Earth was inhabitated by millions of plants and animals. According to the rules of mother Nature, they found their counterparts and had their own families. But as time passed, due to the many different kinds of creatures, Earth became chaotic. That was when father asked for my help, he came to me and said. "- I'm sorry my son, but your sister's creatures are not able to live together without trouble. Since your mother's weakness is Life's beauty and cuteness she can't say no to her. We must take care of the situation, even if it hurts their feelings. - How should we do that? - I asked and saw the sadness in my father's eyes. He didn't want to destroy what mother and my sister created. So, I knew that it's going to be my job to take the blame. - I'll set a time for everyone and start their time, once the time is over... They must disappear. - I understand, but where should they disappear? - father sighed and buried his face in his hands. His silver eyes were filled with worry. - I don't know it yet. - I thought about the solution for three days and nights till I finally found out what we should do. I searched for my father avoiding my giggling sister, who played with a few baby deers. I found him under his favorite tree, he watched its leaves slowly falling down. I took a seat next to him and watched how he turned a leaf between his fingers. - Father, I know what we should do. - he smiled and caressed my face. - I'm all ears my beloved son. - I took a deep breath and took the leaf from him. - We must cherish and respect what mother and Life created. So, let's make the time they have on Earth beautiful as well, just like the creatures as well. Passing time and death, shouldn't be sad and ugly by nature. - I showed him the leaf and it changed from green to yellow, then to orange, slowly into red, then brown and finally drying out before turning into powder between my fingers. The wind blew it away and we watched as it disappeared into thin air. The powder fall onto the ground and I told my father. - Once it dies, the remaining will nurture the ground and give a perfect place for a new life. Let's change the weather, and give beauty to each season it has, so the living creatures could count their time. - Father pat my back and smiled at me proudly. - That's a splendid idea my son, but what about their souls? - he asked. - I'll create a place for them, a whole new realm, where they can rest till eternity and watch over their loved ones. - Back at that time, there was still no bad on Earth, that concept came with the first human created. We had to exterminate in silence many other creatures so these new humans could survive. With their arrival, we needed to make many modifications within the realm I've created. It took us centuries to create the system that you already know. - I watched my son contemplate over what he just heard. He rested his head on top of his fists, kneeling over his thighs and just watching in front of him with an empty glance. After a while, he took a deep breath and looked into my eyes. - So, to summarize, Tata and Nona created Earth, Aunty Lee created everything living with Nona, and you were the one who decided that everything must come to an end with Tata. - I've nodded and he stood up walking up and down. - Dean, what's wrong? - Donna asked standing up to talk with him, but as soon as her hand touched our son's shoulder he brushed her hand off. - Don't call me by that name! You haven't even give me a proper name, it was her... - he looked sad and confused. I sighed and stood up, walking to him and forcing gently my son to look into my eyes. - There is a reason why we haven't really named you. Because, the name you know me by, was given by the one soul that won against death. - I said pulling Donna into my arms and giving her a small kiss. - What do you mean by that? - Dean asked and Donna answered. - I think we should leave that part of the story for tomorrow. I want you to think about what you just heard and we will discuss whatever questions you may have tomorrow. Now, go to your room and rest a bit. - she said and kissed the forehead of our lovely son. Dean nodded and headed towards the stairs but Donna called after him. - Dean. - he looked back and my wife smiled sweetly. - Don't force yourself not to think about Katherine. If she comes to your mind, just go with the flow. - Dean chuckled a bit by the mainstream expression she used and went to his room. I've sighed and turned to face Donna. - This wasn't an easy conversation. - I said and she wrapped her arms around my neck. She brushed the tip of her nose against mine before kissing me deeply. After our kiss, I got lost in her eyes and she blushed a bit. - What are you looking at? - she asked and I just adored her tiny smile in the corner of her red lips. - The first soul that managed to conquer death! - she giggled and looked towards the stairs where Dean disappeared not long ago before saying. - Looks like we will meet soon the second one.
