“How’s the kids? Ano’ng sabi nila?” tanong ni grandpa makalipas ang ilang sandaling katahimikan.
“We haven’t told them yet, but we’ve formally separated. We’ve been sleeping in separate room for months now, and the paperwork has been signed. It’s all being handled right now.”
“So, final na ba ang desisyon mong ‘yan? I mean, ang mag-stay rito sa Pilipinas?”
Tumango ako bago sumagot. “Yes, grandpa, and I’ll take the kids with me. Kylie and I are discussing custody, but it looks like I’ll get the kids, and she gets visitation.”
Kumunot ang noo ni grandpa. “Bakit? Ayaw n’ya sa mga bata?”
