Chapter 4 THE NORTH TERRITORY

Cerise had no choice but to let them take her. Part of the reason is because she wanted to get away from the forest so fast that the rogues chasing after her wouldn’t find her or even come near her; and the other part is because it somehow made her feel right to be around that guy who was so powerful and strong, yet she still doesn’t know his name yet. Her heart was telling her that it feels right but her mind was telling her to mask her emotions and not let him get to her in any way. She’s strong and she can handle herself, even when she’s going to be dealing with a hot stranger who makes her feel something other than hate. She didn't like this condition--that she was kind of not like who she used to be. Just a few minutes of walking till they stumbled upon a dirt road where a black Range Rover was parked. Elijah immediately climbed into the driver’s seat and started the car. The alpha opened the backseat door for her and she glanced at him first before getting inside the car. He angrily slammed the door behind her, causing her to flinch. She swore under her breath at him while watching him get into the front seat. Then, Elijah started driving. “What are you planning to do with her, boss?” Elijah asked Kayne through their mind link. “Gather the people at the training grounds immediately, I have an announcement to make. Then take her to the underground rooms after we’re done.” Cerise frowned while watching them communicate through their mind link quietly. It was quite obvious they were talking about her, because Elijah kept glancing at the alpha every after ten seconds and then nodding his head without saying anything. It frustrated her but then she realized that it was a good thing they were not speaking--because it gave her some time to think about her next move. A few minutes later, the car entered a clear highway that goes straight to another part of the forest. When she looked out the window, she saw many houses coming into view with a few cars parked outside. Her jaw dropped open in surprise when she noticed how big and fancy the houses all looked like, including the cars. It made her wonder how the alpha’s people can afford to live in such houses and own such expensive looking cars, yet they lived in the middle of nowhere that is probably far from town. And then something suddenly hit her mind. This was another pack, so that means that they’re either the North pack in the North territory, the Blood moon pack in the East, or the Silver pack in the West. The pack in the South was out of the question, she’s been running for her life ever since they stabbed her in the back. Now she’s a lone wolf, she knew some places in West Virginia to avoid for that would lead her back to them. So which one do these guys belong to? The car finally came to a stop and she looked to the front. Her eyes widened in surprise when she saw the beautiful open mansion in front of her. She knew straight away that this must be their pack house, and of course, it’s the only beautiful mansion in this area which can only belong to their alpha and it’s where he also lives. Elijah suddenly turned around and grabbed both of her wrists, quickly tied a cable tie around them before she could even protest. She hissed in pain when he pulled the cable tightly, and caught the alpha glaring at Elijah without saying a word. “Let’s go.” He said before stepping out of the car. Elijah held her arm and they followed the alpha through another clear pathway. Through the trees till they came upon a huge clearing, a crowd of people were already gathered there. Both men and women, girls and boys, standing together and talking with each other. Once they saw the alpha approaching them, they immediately bowed their heads in respect, but not before shooting a confused glance at the woman walking behind him dressed in a weird way. It only took them a second to catch her scent. Then the pack members in the crowd growled nastily at her, while the rest started talking about her. “Who is she?” “Why did alpha Kayne bring a female rogue here?” “Did he agree to sign a contract marriage with the rogue pack for some kind of peace agreement?” Cerise heard them asking all at once, and the last one almost made her laugh. Kayne, the alpha who she now knew his name, stood in front of them all and faced them. And Cerise and Elijah both stood by his side, facing the crowd as well. The people immediately stopped their whispering and looked back at the three of them. “I have something to say. My wife Charlotte will no longer be a part of us starting from today.” The people were obviously shocked by this news. However, nothing had changed Kayne’s serious face. “She have betrayed us and have eloped with a rogue named Andrew, so she’s no longer your Luna and she’s no longer my mate. She is a traitor and have chosen to become one of them!” He paused for a short while and then sentenced, “So, if you ever come across any rogues, regardless of who they are, do not hesitate to kill them.” The people all mumbled in agreement and started to whisper questions all over again. Cerise was blocked out their words, staring at Kayne with a puzzled look on her face. The news about what his mate did to him and the fact that he had a mate already completely threw her off-guard. It kinda hurt her feelings that he had already marked someone else as his mate. Wait! Why the hell did she feel like that?! It was none of her business. She slightly shook her head to rid of the thought and shoved away all the new feelings that she got today. When she looked up, Kayne was looking to the side at her. “This woman standing here in front of you, is one of them. Though she denies to admit it, we brought her here to find out the truth.” The pack people started to throw insults and offending comments at her, and some even voted to kill her. Cerise looked down on the ground with her fists clenched tightly, forcing herself to keep a straight face on. Kayne announced it like that with purpose. He wanted to see if he can get any useful clues from her reaction, but the girl remained calm with no expression on her face at all. For a minute, her expression almost convinced him that she was innocent. But, since he had been fooled by a woman once so he won’t allow it to happen again. “Quiet.” Kayne commanded once, and the crowd immediately falls silent. “I have made my decision. We will not kill her right now but keep her locked up in one of the underground rooms. And, I will personally hold a private investigation with her and we will soon know the truth.” With that being said, he nodded at the people who were standing guard nearby. And two of them came by Cerise’s side and grabbed her arm, starting to take her. They soon entered a huge dark hallway located behind the mansion. They stopped in front of one of the rooms and one of them unlocked the door with a code. They pushed her inside and closed the door behind her. There was only one light bulb hanging from the ceiling, and the light it provides was not even enough for her to see the dark corners around her. Anger pulsed through her veins and she glared at the closed door in front of her. Then, she released her breath and slowly and sat down on the floor. She closed her eyes, trying to keep her thoughts in one place and her emotions under control. Cerise kept her eyes closed, just thinking about her next move in silence. She wasn’t going to let the situation to get to her, as she knew that she’s strong enough to even go through whatever they have planned for her. She was once an alpha! She moved to the corner and leaned her back against the wall. Having been running away for so many days, she was exhausted. In the next few minutes, her lids started to grow heavy and an exhausted yawn escaped from her lips. Finally she let sleep take over. ******** The next morning, someone entered the room with a bucket full of ice cold water. The person smirked before tipping the bucket over Cerise’s head to wake her up. The cold water made contact with her skin and she immediately jumped up in shock, drenched from head to toe. That, was enough for her anger to resurface. She slowly turned around to face the person who did it with a deadly glare on her face. “Rise and shine b***h!”
