Effie Contreras is the younger sister of Elijah Contreras. She’s one of Kayne’s pack members and the girl grew up with Kayne ever since they were kids. She always managed to get her way with things except one thing;
Kayne.
She had a huge crush on him for years but she never told him. Although she did drop a few hints every now and then when they’re together, the only person that managed to notice, was her own brother. Since he was the alpha’s beta and also his best friend, Elijah wasn’t so happy about the fact that his younger sister has a crush on their alpha. But Effie was a strong headed girl that won’t take no for answer. So it was hard for him to control her sometimes.
Effie’s crush on the alpha turned into something more over the years. But when the time came where she had finally decided to tell him about her feelings, Kayne had suddenly met his mate and made her the Luna of their pack.
She never liked Charlotte one bit.
One reason is that she had stolen Kayne away from her and the other reason is because she always knew that Charlotte would do something like this to betray her alpha.
When she heard the announcement Kayne made that morning, relief struck her like a lightning bolt. They were no longer together, so this could be her chance to have him all to herself.
However, it was no sooner for her to enjoy the delightful news, her heart fueled with anger and jealousy-- for the contract marriage rumor about Kayne and the female rogue who they brought with them.
After they all dispersed from the training grounds, she suddenly came up with an idea.
Why not make their work easier and kill the b***h for them?
If she can’t have Kayne, then no one will.
*******
She stood in front of the rogue with one hand on her hip and smirked back at her. The cold water managed to wake her up and Effie felt satisfied with what she had done. She tossed the empty bucket to the side and narrowed her eyes at the rogue.
“So you’re the one. Don’t they have better options?” Effie questioned with distaste while her eyes roaming all over her appearance.
“Why on earth would they pick such an ugly b***h to seduce Kayne into marriage? Like seriously, don’t you rogues have better clothes to wear or something? I mean look at you! You’re disgustingly filthy and messy. But then again, it’s just the way you rogues are meant to be.”
The rogue glared back and started to breathe heavily.
“Who are you?” She angrily snapped back at her.
“Me? I’m the one who’s going to kill you. But before that, I’m going to have a little fun with you first, to teach you a painful lesson! Oh and please, those tricks won’t work on any men especially when you look like that. So don’t even try to think you can seduce Kayne with your pathetic ways.”
The rogue just smirked and Effie glared at her in surprise.
“Sweetie, seducing is not on my mind right now. It would be the last thing actually, if I have to choose that option to get out of here. But you on the other hand, something tells me that no one knows you’re down here threatening me about your alpha. What? Do you like him or something?”
Effie's mouth set in a hard line and she quickly glanced away to the side. She’s always been good at hiding her true feelings and she wasn’t being obvious about it right now. But how can this b***h see right through her?
“No! Are you insane? He’s more like a big brother to me.” She quickly covered her slip-up with a lie.
The rogue smiled and leaned her back against the wall while standing.
“Right, if that’s the case, then why are you down here threatening me not to seduce him? If you really think of him that way, then you wouldn’t mind him bringing me here.”
Effie started to feel annoyed with the way she was talking to her. It made her think that she was not in control of the situation anymore, but she was. She thought she would be weak like the others that they’ve captured and been kept here, but she was kinda mad at herself that she was wrong.
This rogue was a lot different and that infuriated her.
“I don’t mind of course, but I do mind the fact that you’re still alive and breathing!”
Effie suddenly turned around and called outside. Three guards entered the room and stood behind her. She turned back to the rogue and shot her a smile while crossing her arms.
“Any last words?”
The rogue pushed herself off the wall and then shrugged casually.
“None actually.”
Her calmness was starting to bother Effie and she scoffed out loud.
“Suit yourself.”
She turned around and walked out of the room, leaving the guys to take care of her instead.
Before she could even take one step further, Kayne and Elijah suddenly appeared right in front of her.
