CHAPTER FIVE
Sam was led back to her cell and the procedure for releasing the cuffs was fast. Liz had already gotten back from whatever it was she was doing. Sam wanted her spot back but after everything she had just seen and heard that was not on her list of worries. “So, who wanted to see you?” Debbie asked.
“What, oh, I don’t know what happened, it was some kind of mix up. No one showed up,” Sam replied and lied to her. Who would believe the truth, she barely believed it herself. However, no one had yet noticed her new accessory on her arm yet. “Well, lucky you,” Debbie replied to her and Sam put her back against the far side of the wall and slid down to the floor.
“Yeah, lucky me,” she responded and took a deep breath. “What would you guys do if you knew the world was going to end?”
