Nadine Pov The wedding day The door creaked open as Aunt Noel entered the room, her warm voice filling the air. "You ready, girls?" She cast a gentle gaze upon me, her smile radiating kindness. "How's our little bride doing?" she continued, addressing me. Layla, my cousin, who stood beside me, couldn't help but chuckle. "Well, she hasn't run away yet." I laughed, grateful for Layla's humor, as she and Aya, my other cousin, had been teasing me since this marriage was made official. Aunt Noel, who had taken on my parent role, led the preparations. Layla and Aya, on the other hand, had taken it upon themselves to make me look like a princess. Aya glanced at my jewelry box and asked, "So, which hair ornament are we using for your hair?" "It's this one," I replied, pulling out a box containing a silver headband adorned with pink rhinestones. Aunt Noel's eyes sparkled with excitement as she held the beautiful headband to my hair. "Oh, it's perfect! It matches your dress so well," she exclaimed. Layla and Aya nodded in agreement and joined Aunt Noel in admiring the headband. They stood around me, helping me prepare for the most important day of my life. I couldn't help but feel my heart racing with anticipation as I thought about the ceremony that awaited me. Aunt Noel placed the headband on my head with great care and whispered, "You look stunning, my dear. Your late parents would have been so proud of you." Her words tugged at my heartstrings, and tears lit up in my eyes. Though it had been years since my parents had passed away, their absence was still felt during significant moments like this. Aunt Noel noticed my emotions and enveloped me in a warm embrace. "They'll always be with you, my love." Aya and Layla stood on either side of me, their eyes brimming with tears, as they wrapped their arms tightly around me. I could feel their embrace, the warmth of their bodies, and their love for me as they held me close. Aya's voice quivered as she spoke, "Oh, we'll miss you so much, sis." Her tears flowed freely, dampening my shoulder. I smiled, trying to hold back my tears, and returned their embrace, squeezing them as tightly as possible. "I'll always be there when you need me," I whispered, my voice filled with genuine affection. Layla joined in the embrace, her soft voice barely audible as she kissed me gently. "Remember that I love you so much." Aunt Noel stood a few steps away, watching the emotional scene unfold. She walked over with a tender smile and enveloped us all in a warm embrace. The love in the air was palpable and comforting in this bittersweet moment. As we slowly let go, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. My heart skipped a beat. My hair was beautifully styled, cascading down my shoulders, perfectly complementing the elegance of the wedding dress I wore. As I stood in front of the mirror, I couldn't help but admire the stunning transformation that had taken place. The soft glow of the lights illuminated the room, casting a warm and inviting aura. Suddenly, we heard a gentle knock at the door, causing us to snap out of our reverie. "Come in," Aunt Noel welcomed with a smile, her eyes twinkling with excitement. We all turned our heads towards the entrance, eager to see who it could be. Corey, my younger cousin, entered the room with enthusiasm. "It's almost time, ladies," he announced, his eyes gleaming joyfully. He turned towards me, and his gaze softened. "You look absolutely beautiful, sis," he complimented, taking a few steps closer. I embraced him tightly, feeling grateful for his kind words. "Thank you," I whispered, feeling the love and support radiating from him. Corey tilted his head towards the hallway, reminding Aunt Noel of her impending role in this special day. "Come on, Mom, Grandpa is looking for you," he urged, his buoyant spirit contagious. With a deep breath, I attempted to alleviate the nervous jitters beginning to worm into my system. The moment of truth was rapidly approaching. "Okay, sweetie, let's go," Aunt Noel declared, assuming her position at the door. It was time for me to embark on the journey down the aisle towards the beginning of a new chapter in my life. Taking a deep breath, I began my walk down the aisle. The guests' eyes were fixed on me, and their stares made me slightly nervous. But as I saw him standing at the altar, everything else seemed to disappear. Edward looked dashing in his suit, and with every step I took, I felt a stronger bond between us. When I reached the aisle, I looked over at my family. My grandfather was standing near the aisle, his face weathered and proud. His expression had a touch of sadness, but I knew he was happy for me. Seeing him brought back memories of warm stories shared by the fireplace and wise words of guidance. I smiled at him, silently thanking him for being there with me on my special day. Beside my grandfather was my aunt, a pillar of strength and support. She was always there for me, providing comfort during good and tough times. Her eyes sparkled with joy and a hint of tears, assuring me that she was truly happy for me. My bridesmaids were Layla and Aya, my lovely cousins. They stood gracefully, holding beautiful bouquets of pink and red roses—my favorite flowers. The vibrant colors of the flowers represented the love and excitement in the air, symbolizing new beginnings and blossoming love. I glanced over at them, and my heart swelled with gratitude for their unwavering presence throughout my life's journey. As I took each step closer to Edward, my heart raced with anticipation. He stood tall and composed, waiting for me. The aisle seemed to stretch forever, and every breath I took felt heavier than the last. We exchanged vows, promising a lifetime of love, support, and adventure. Each word spoken felt like a step closer to each other. The world around us fell away, and we were the only two people who existed at that moment, bound by the unbreakable thread of love. As I said, "I do," my whole body heated up from pure happiness. We sealed our vows with a kiss, and the room erupted into applause and joyous cheers. The moment that had begun, it had nervously transformed into a magical one. Surrounded by loved ones and cherished memories, I knew that this day began a beautiful chapter in our lives filled with love, growth, and endless possibilities.
