I couldn't believe it when Nadine told me she was pregnant. I felt a mix of anger towards the man who had hurt her and happiness that she finally seemed ready to move on with her life.
The baby growing inside of her was a symbol of hope and strength, and I knew I would do everything in my power to help Nadine through this.
We decided that Nadine living with Grandfather would be better while she tried things out. As such, we packed all our things the next day and drove back. It was a familiar place, filled with memories of happier times, and I hoped it would provide some comfort for Nadine as she went through all the tests at the hospital.
