Nadine POV The sun shone brightly, casting a warm glow over the city as I descended the stairs. As I reached the bottom step, I was startled to come face to face with Layla, who seemed to be going somewhere. "Hey, Nadine," Layla greeted me with a smile. "I'm actually on my way to an interview. Wish me luck!" My heart swelled with pride for Layla, knowing how hard she had worked to find a job once we moved here. "Good luck, Layla! You've got this," I encouraged her, feeling genuinely happy for her as she walked out the door with determination in her stride.
