Eli sat down on the couch, looking at both Owen and Drake as they watched Abby leave the room.
Oh no, oh no. No, no, no, no. No, this wasn’t good. He knew the look on both men’s faces he had seen it many times before when they saw someone they wanted to take as a lover. f**k, just his luck. His mate was in his Alpha’s sights, well f**k!
He would not give up her up, he couldn’t. Maybe if she rejected him he could, that thought didn’t give him any pleasant feelings. It made something in his chest twist painfully sharp, like a knife’s blade.
He carefully composed his features into a playful smirk and raised an eyebrow as he cleared his throat.
“She’s sexy.” He said smirking at both men.
“Yeah, she is.” Drake said as he spun to look at him, “What can we do for you, Eli?”
Owen sat down the file he was reading after making another few notations, he capped his pen and looked over at both men.
“I need you to come into Moonlight,” Eli said, looking over at his Alpha.
Owen looked between Drake and Eli. Eli seemed tense, Drake’s Beta was normally at ease whether he was at the pack house or on the stage with girls throwing themselves at him. His metal persona on stage caused him to normally have a flock of groupies hanging around, so his bed was rarely empty. It was something his pack mates and band members liked to tease him about.
Although the handsome wolf’s bed was often filled, both Owen and Drake knew that he was holding out for his mate. He never slept with the same partner twice and was very firm about that rule. Drake couldn’t even count how many times he had seen some random groupie leaving the house in the early mornings reeking of s*x and the dark-haired wolf.
“Did you find it?” Owen asked.
“I did thought I’d share.” He said with a shrug, he looked towards the door thinking about the girl on the other side.
Drake nodded at him, “I’ll head over there later tonight.”
Eli pushed off of the couch to stand, stretching his arms above his head. “Well, I’ll be off then. Alpha,” he said, nodding his head at Drake before turning and doing the same for Owen, “Owen.”
He strolled to the frosted doors and waited as they slid open. His wolf was practically vibrating under his skin. Excited to see his mate again, eager to claim her before any others could. He knew that he would have to work quickly if he even had a chance.
He hustled down the short hallway towards her desk; he leaned against the door frame; he watched her concentrating on the paper in front of her. She had a pen in her hand that she brought to her lips; he groaned, watching as she nibbled the lid with her straight white teeth. He’d never wanted to be a piece of plastic filled with ink more in his life. The way her lips and teeth were moving, he could think of several things she could be doing the same thing to on his body.
Eli pushed forward with the rolling gait of a predator towards her; it was the same way he moved to pick up some random groupie. He hoped it would work with her as well, he had never been nervous hitting on someone before. His palms started to sweat as she looked up at him, pulling the pen away from her mouth.
“Mr. Abbott, are you already done?”
“I am, are you busy tonight?” He asked, smirking at her.
“I’m not, why are you asking?” She said with a nervous smile.
“I’m interested in you.” He smiled at her blush, “What time do you get off?”
“Umm, I’m not really sure.” She said with a shrug.
Eli grabbed her pen from her hand and popped it into his mouth as he leaned over to grab a post-it note, he breathed in taking in her scent; he growled at her sweet taste on his tongue. He pulled the pen from his lips and smiled at her, writing down his number, “Call me when you get off.” He said winking at her. “We’ll do something.” He tucked her pen behind his ear.

Abby blushed, she wasn’t used to handsome men talking to her. Much less giving her their number.
“Okay,” She smiled shyly. She watched as Eli headed to the elevator. Shaking her head, trying to get back to work as she tucked his number into her bag. It was turning out to be a great day, a new job, and a hot guy gave her his number. Maybe even a date tonight? Her roommate wasn’t going to believe her luck today.
Abby smiled as she looked down, shaking her head; she tucked her hair behind her ear. Looking around the desk, she realized Eli had stolen her pen. She frowned, looking in her bag; she knew chewing on her pens was a bad habit and she didn’t want to chew on any of the fancy pens at her desk.
They all looked way too expensive. She sighed as she realized she didn’t have any more pens in her bag. She’d have to try hard not to chew on one of those fancy pens. She grabbed one, uncapping it and admiring sterling silver finish.
Yikes, she definitely didn’t want to chew on that pen. She sighed and flipped through the papers. What was this, an NDA? She bit her lip as she read it over.

Owen looked over to Drake as Eli left the room.
“He seems off today. Something happen?” Owen asked, motioning towards the door Eli had just walked through. He had known Eli before his turning and had been good friends with the werewolf, he had been too many of his shows and practices. And the cocky wolf seemed to be hiding something from them.
Drake shrugged, “Not that I’m aware of.” He said with a sigh. “You know how he is, must have something on his mind.”
Owen shrugged his shoulders, grabbing the next file of paperwork that he needed to work on, “We going to talk about Nikki?” He asked, picking up his pen.
“I’m done with her, you?” Drake asked as he started playing on Owen’s computer.
“Oh yeah,” he answered, “I think we’ve both moved on from her.”
“Want to talk about it?” Drake asked with a smile at the thought of Abby. “I know it’s hard learning to deal with a demon. How does he feel about her?” He leaned around the computer screen, looking pointedly at his friend.
“He wants her, it’s a fight.” Owen answered honestly, “I know you won’t let her get hurt. I trust you.”
