Abby carried the coffees balanced in a brown cardboard cup holder in her hands, the warm sweet smells mixing with the bitter black coffee making her mouth water. She hadn’t had time to finish her coffee this morning, although in her excitement she probably didn’t even need it today.
Who was she kidding, it was coffee who was she to say no to the warm, tempting beverage?
“Where are you going?” A sharp voice said it was the receptionist from earlier. The one who had all but ignored her in favor of Drake.
“I’m Mr. Walker’s new secretary, he and Mr. Collins needed coffee.” She answered over her shoulder, not stopping or slowing down to talk to the woman.
“You don’t have a name badge,” She answered trying to catch up to her, the woman’s stiletto heels clicking on the tile floor behind her. Abby moved quickly towards the elevators, weaving in between the businessmen and women to slip past the closing elevator doors just at the right time. Leaving the rude receptionist behind, she smiled sheepishly at the man dressed in an expensive-looking suit beside her.
He smirked down at her, “You new here?” He asked, his voice had a lazy southern drawl to it.
“First day,” she smiled at him, holding the coffees close.
“You’ll get used to Melissa, that’s just how she acts.” He said leaning back against the wall of the elevator, “What floor are you on?” He said as he motioned towards the panel of buttons.
“Oh, the executive office. So the top floor.” She said smiling, happy to finally belong somewhere.
“So you’re Owen’s new secretary?” He asked leaning over to press the correct button, he leaned back crossing his arms over his lean yet muscular chest.
She took a moment to study him as she nodded her head. What was it with all the men here? It was like they only hired models or something. His black hair flowed down his shoulders and looked silky to the touch, his blue eyes were focused intently on her. She knew she was pretty but in a simpler way, a way that was easily overlooked with her messy red hair and eyes hidden behind thick-rimmed glasses. Abby didn’t feel as polished as everyone she had met today. She would have to go shopping after her first paycheck, maybe pick up a few more business looking clothes that would be suitable. If she could afford it after paying her bills.
“Looks like you and I’ll be seeing each other a lot more.” He said with a smile. “My name’s Eli Abbott, I’m friends with Drake and Owen.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Mr. Abbott,” Abby said to him with a smile, she shifts the coffees over to hold against her stomach with one hand. “My name is Abby Jones.”
“Abby,” he said her name, his voice practically purring as he let it slip from his lips. “Mmm, I like that.”
She felt the redness returning to her cheeks, what was it with him and Drake. Both men seemed to ooze a sexiness that she wasn’t used to. The coiling feeling of arousal in her belly that had faded as she picked up the coffees was slowly creeping back in. She could feel it working its way deeper, tightening in her body as he looked at her.
The elevator dinged, knocking her out of her trance-like state; she felt like her face was on fire as she jumped.
“Oh, that’s me.” She said moving forward, he pushed off the back wall chuckling as he followed her with a deep grin.

Eli watched as she hurriedly made her way out of the elevator and into the office. Was this what it felt like when you found your mate?
He had heard stories from his pack mates of what it would be like, he just hadn’t expected it when she had slipped into the elevator.
For a moment it had felt like the air had been knocked out of his lungs when her smell had hit him. Eli had never smelled anything so good in his life. When she had smiled up at him, he knew that it was over. He was a goner; she was going to trap him with her sweet smile and that blush she had. Eli had a weakness for blushing redheads, and she was practically dropped in his lap by the Goddess herself. Smelling like berries and chocolate, making his mouth water for a taste.
His wolf was itching to claim her, the beast roaring in frustration at his need to claim his mate now. He had to fight back his growl as he strolled behind her. It wouldn’t do to frighten the girl off. He watched her hips moving from side to side, the way her slacks clung to the curve of her ass. His hands were itching to give that ass a good squeeze, he wanted to see the surprise sweeping across her face when he did it.
He would wait, though. It wouldn’t do to have Owen pissed at him for groping his secretary on her first day. His Alpha would probably be pissed at him too for the tongue lashing he would get from his lover.
If the Goddess fated it, it would work itself out, he smirked knowing that fate was on his side.

Abby rushed out of the elevator. She tried not to look back at the man casually strolling behind her. The skin of her back felt hot and she knew that he must have been staring at her body. What was it with the men here?
She lightly rapped her knuckles against the frosted glass door and waited for Mr. Collins or Mr. Walker to open the door. Or at least let her know that she could come in.
The door slid open and she took in both men, Drake was still sitting behind Owen’s desk. Owen was sitting on the sleek white couch off to the side, he was flipping through some paperwork and making notes on it as he went.
He glanced up and smiled briefly, Abby felt her heart flutter. She bit her lower lip and tried not to frown, she couldn’t feel this way about her boss. Sitting his coffee down in front of him on the small coffee table, “Black coffee for you.” Abby said with a smile, taking in his newly changed clothing. She knew she was right, they were lovers.
Walking over to the desk and Drake looked up at her, leaning back in the leather computer chair. He took a deep breath, and for a moment she could have sworn his eyes changed colors.
Abby shook her head. She was probably just tired. It had been a long day, even though it was still quite early. She sat Drake’s coffee down in front of him and frowned, “You have something on your neck.” She said pointing towards his neck. It looked like blood. She tilted her head, “Are you okay?” She asked, concern coloring her voice.
“I’m fine, I cut myself while shaving this morning.” He said with a smirk.
Abby looked at him skeptically. She hadn’t seen anything on his neck before, and she didn’t think she believed him. Then again, maybe her eyes were playing tricks on her, “Oh, you have a friend here to see you, a Mr. Abbott.”
He nodded and took a drink of his coffee, “This is good. What is it?” He asked.
“It’s a mocha, it’s my favorite.” She said turning back towards Owen, “Is there anything you’d like me to do, Sir? I mean, Owen.” She said, “Sorry about that.” Hastily apologizing.
“I’ve left some paperwork on your desk, let me know if you need any help with it.” He said watching her over the file in his hands.
