Agnes looked at the knights as they drew their swords and pointed at them shouting with all their power.
“Get away from the King”
Russel waved his hands and spoke up; eyeing each one of the knights with his assessing eyes. It must have been true there is a traitor or someone is controlling his personal knights which is very hard because they have been trained very well. So, he has to go with option one unless the one who is manipulating is a witch but that too is very rare cause witches are in alliance with them and they are not very powerful now.
“It’s okay this young lady has saved me, which was your duty”
Agnes assessed each one of the knights while Jane was looked at the manly beauties in front of them. How much she just wants to see all of them while practicing and admire their muscles. Lucas narrowed his eyes something is not right with all of them; somethings a miss. Arthur just did not care; right now, he is hungry and when he is hungry, he just cares about food and nothing more.
The knights bowed down in shame not daring to speak anything. King Russel narrowed his eyes he cannot see any difference in their behaviour other than their carelessness in this situation. He looked at Agnes who was now just bouncing her Jack-In-The-Box; seems like that it is her favourite toy as she always keeps bouncing it up and down.
“Have you brought a carriage for me”
Knights nodded still down in shame as the carriage arrived; carriage was big enough for all of them as it was a Royal carriage. They all boarded the carriage and started their journey back to Kingdom, while knights followed their carriage.
“So, where are you from Lady Jane?”
Jane weirded out hearing someone speak so formally to her, she shook her head seems like she has to get used to it cause even Agnes did not bat an eye hearing such formal speech.
“We are from far land”
Jane gave him a vague answer not wanting to answer him anything that would put them in danger. King Russel raised his eyebrows in question as he asked another question.
“Won’t your parents get worried?”
Nobody answered as they knew this question was directed towards Agnes as she looked the youngest among them even though she is 21 is still looked as if she is just 18. Agnes looked up at Russel answering with a shrug.
“I don’t have any while others have informed their parents about this outing”
King Russel was taken aback seeing Agnes' such casual behaviour seems like she has grown up without parents and does not really know about parental love. He assessed Agnes again hoping he could read her but he was unable to do so; he sighed he has confirmed one thing about Agnes, that she does not mean any harm.
“What is Lady Agnes’ full name?”
He wanted to know did she knew her parents or she does not have any to begin with.
“Agnes Shankoff”
Russel raised his eyebrows and was about to ask another question but Agnes interrupted as she continued.
“I knew them they died when I was around 5”
Everyone grew uncomfortable especially Agnes’ friends they wanted to rip Russel’s hair out who in their right mind would ask about her surname when he knew that her parents are dead. While Russel was dying from guilt, he should have not asked about such delicate matter. While on the other hand Agnes was just bouncing her toy not caring about the heavy atmosphere in the carriage. Thankfully a knight announced that they have arrived the kingdom.
