Elders

514 Words
Agnes sat down inside the throne room as she saw the room getting filled up with elderly people. They all took their respective places seems like council to her; but if that is true, then what is she doing here.    All of the elders gave her a weird look before bowing down to Lucy. She just raised her eyebrows at them should she care about what they think; absolutely not; and this kind of careless behaviour ticked elder especially seeing where she is sitting. Lucy nodded at all of them and allowed them to sit down.   “My Queen”   An elder said as Lucy nodded giving him permission to speak up. The elder stood up and looked at Agnes who just looked back at him carelessly which ticked him to a great extent.   “My Queen; I think an outsider should not be here while we are discussing Kingdom’s matter”   Lucy nodded and replied to him.   “Of course, you are right but I do not see any outsider here”   Agnes suddenly looked at Lucy with bewildered expression; she clearly is the outsider he is talking about. Elder furrowed his eyebrows as he pointed towards Agnes.   “My queen this Lady right there is not from our kingdom let alone one of us”   Lucy raised her eyebrows as she looked towards the elder making the temperature of the room dropped.   “Be careful at who you point at elder; if you don’t want to lose your finger”   The elder flustered and dropped his hand down as Lucy continued.   “Don’t you see where Lady is sitting; she is our adopted daughter”   Agnes shook yet did not give anything out; maybe this is just one of Queen’s tactics to do something but what is ticking her off, is that, she is not able to read what is Lucy thinking. All elders started to mumble as one suddenly stood up.   “My Queen you cannot just adopt someone to be the heir”   Lucy gave him a cold smile as she lazy kept she placed her hand beneath her neck supporting her head as she asked. “And why not?”   “You need to consult us; the elders.”   Lucy laughed out loud she shook her head, seems like these elders have forgotten their places she needs to show them their place…so troublesome.   “I think you all old people have forgotten your places”   All of them shook hearing such cold voice of Lucy; they only have seen her gentle aura. Lucy continued.   “You guys are just elders; if we want to consult you guys, we will, if not then we will not. Never forget your place. Elders’ position is made just because we don’t want to handle so much work. You, old people don’t hold power over us. If right now I want to dissolve these council I can and nobody in this world has power to go against me not even my husband; do you understand”   All of the elders gulped; Lucy was emitting so much of her blood-thirst that they have never seen. Even in the war; they never took part as they hid away saying that they are elders and can’t fight. Lucy smiled knowing that her message has been conveyed to them loud and clear.
