SHE WAS AMAZING IN HER WORK

 Maggi’s P.O.V.

I don’t know why he requested me to accompany him in the meeting with Fisher’s but I was glad that he did. I knew that he had ordered the legal department to to legal against them but one last try wouldn’t hurt anyone.

We both were sitting in front of the representatives from Fisher’s in their meeting hall. Their CEO, Mr. Nate Campbell, was sitting in front of Theo. I didn’t want to notice anyone outside the office to suspicious the tension between me and Theo, so I was discussing things with him normally. It was not easy for me but I had to do this for our company’s reputation and for Mom and Dad.

“Mr. Campbell, I am sure that you are aware that our company has declared your firm as defaulters because we didn’t get the payments on time and now your department is refusing to pay as per the schedule which is of course a breach of contract between us”, Theo started the conversation and I saw an uneasiness in the composure of Mr. Campbell.

I was watching him closely since I entered the room. He was trying to giving a bad vibe but was failing miserably. I had done my homework. I knew that his company is second in line in the same project that we are going to start soon. If we failed to start the project in a given time period, that project will automatically goes to them.

I also came to know that someone from our company gave him intel about our financial crisis. I knew how to deal with him here and I really wished that Theo would take me lead here.

“Mr. Turner, I really thankful to give another chance to explain our inability of not paying back. Actually, from last few months, we are facing some financial crisis and really unable to pay the rest amount as per the schedule. I am requesting you to give us some time to arrange the money and please called off the remark on us as defaulter”, he said with a fake smile on his face and I scoffed. You better think before giving any s**t out of your mouth.

I looked at Theo from the corner of my eye and we both smiled. I already told him about the possibility of request that Mr. Campbell just made.

“As you can see my associate Ms. Collins is here with me. She will talk to you on my behalf”, Theo turned the table towards me and looked at me and I nodded.

“Good afternoon, Mr. Campbell”, I greeted him politely and he greeted me back with again a fake smile on his face but somehow he was not happy to see this arrangement between me and Theo.

“Mr. Campbell, please forgive for me being straight forward but if we talk about the financial crisis you were talking about, I heard that your has finished it’s 3 govt. projects you won last year and the company already has got the rest p*****t that is… if my calculation is correct… must be around… 200 million? I gave him a questioning look while raising my brows.

His eyes widened in shock and his jaws dropped. I chuckled internally as it would be unprofessional in front of both company’s CEOs.

“Also, the last quarter balance sheet that your company released for your share-holders stated that the company has earned a good profit in last quarter that closed only 21 days ago. Also, the company has received all the bidding security deposit  this month that the company lost in last 2 months”, I paused while looking at him straightly.  Disbelief and disappointment was written all over his face. He was looking so frustrated that he would lose his temper any second.

I knew that I had infuriate his anger but to made him clear that we are not stepping back from the project and also we are not so weak as he thought so, I threw my last card to him. “Mr. Campbell, I know that a traitor from our company has given you this information that we are lacking some funds for our next project for which you have also bid and if somehow we stepped back , you will get the project. But….”, I paused again while stressing on the last word. I looked towards Theo. He was also surprise to hear what I told a moment before. Mr. Campbell was all red due to anger.

“But… he didn’t tell you that we already started the first phase of the project a few days before. So … you can see now that all your efforts to put us down on this project is totally wasted now and also you let us to ruin your company reputation by marking the company as p*****t defaulter. Now, I can only suggest you to clear the p*****t as soon as possible to stop yourself being embarrassed more”, I said to him in a rude tone with a stern voice.

There was a silence in the room. Mr. Campbell was shooting daggers on me. I felt an uneasiness in the air and was having a feeling that he was up to something right now.

Suddenly, I felt a hand on my hand that made me shivered a little. I looked in the direction of Theo. He was continuously looking at Mr. Campbell without blinking his eyes. He had a cold aura around him. I gulped hard. He held my hand in protectiveness.  I didn’t understand and was about to ask him, I heard Mr. Campbell shouting at me. “You b***h”, he pounced over me across the table and Theo instantly pulled me behind him in his embrace while roaring on him. “Stop now Campbell otherwise you will face the consequences”.

Theo’s P.O.V.

I was simply impressed by her. How she politely but sternly threatened that CEO. I was also amazed by her skills. But the thing she said about a traitor in our company surprised me. I was so angry right now but I could deal with this later. Now, I didn’t get the good vibes from Mr. Campbell who was sitting in front of me across the table.

His face was red in anger and he was looking at Maggi with so much hatred and disgust in his eyes. Instantly I gripped Maggi’s hand to protect her if any case he attempt to harm her in any way. I was glaring at her without blinking my eyes and held a tight grip on her hand.

Suddenly, he pounced over the table at her while shouting at her, “You b***h. I instantly pulled her behind me in my embrace and roared, “stop now Campbell otherwise you will face the consequences”. The company person who were sitting with him, immediately engulfed him hard to make any further movement.

I was furious now. How could he think of doing anything to her in my presence? I will make him pay for what he did in front of me and what he did to cause me this project. Maggi was shivering hard due to fear and she has clenched my shirt so tight that her life depended on this.

I embraced her a little more and started stroking her back to calm her down. “Please, take me out from here”, she whispered in her trembling voice and it infuriated me more. That b*****d scared her like hell.

“Now we will meet in the court Mr. Campbell and….”, I trailed off while heading back towards the door and stopped in my way while holding her in my embrace firmly.

“I wanted the footage of this meeting before evening at my desk. I know that you have installed cameras here”, I pointed out in the direction of the cameras.

Mr. Campbell was shivering hard due to anger. His mates were having difficulty to hold him back.

“Make me”, he challenged me and I stopped instantly before stepping out of the room.

“Don’t make me to do so Nate. You will not like the consequences. You are already in hell”, I roared again and he was stunned now.

I gave him a last threatening look and stormed out of his office towards my car with her.
