Once we had arrived at my house, Logan excitedly enters the house. I watched him look around the house. He seemed to be looking for photos. I raised my eyebrows at him.
"I don't have pictures here." I stated.
"How come?" he asked as he turned to look at me.
He had this very curious expression on his face. I can't somehow find myself to resist.
"I just don't like keeping pictures of anybody, especially myself. Not even my parents." I plainly said.
He pressed his lips together and nodded. I went into my room and grabbed some things that he might need for him to stay the night. Thank God I have extra supplies on me. When I headed back to the living room, he was typing away on his phone.
"Logan. You can sleep on the couch. Here's your towel, change of clothes for tonight and tomorrow, personal necessities, pillow, and blanket." I said as I handed him the stuff.
"Thank you. I ordered some food for us for tonight and tomorrow. We both haven't had a decent meal since this morning." he smiled.
"What did you get?" I asked.
"I ordered two chicken salads for tonight, and a full meal of breakfast with mixed vegetables, eggs, sausage, and pancakes." he said with a huge smile.
I furrowed my eyebrows at him.
"Is there something wrong, Dr. Burton?" he asked.
"Did you do your research about me or are you just stalking me?" I asked.
"I asked around with the nurses at the hospital on what they see you usually eat... Which was never often. They said you only had coffee." he frowned.
"It's hard to eat if your entire time is filled with patients and a bunch of other people calling you to go here and there." I groaned.
"Don't worry, Dr. Burton. As your personal assistant, I'll also do my best to take care of you." he said.
"Don't forget about yourself." I grumbled. "I'll clean myself up."
"I'll call you when the food is here." he smiled.
I headed back to my room, stripped off of my clothes, and hopped into the shower. I quickly showered, and once I finished I dried myself off, grabbed my boxers, and put them on. I threw myself on my bed and felt unconsciousness slowly drag me into sleep.
I woke up to the sound of my alarm. I yawned and turned it off. I sat up from my bed and stretched. The sounds of my bones cracking filled the quiet room. I stood up and headed straight for the kitchen only to see the chicken salad sitting on the kitchen counter. My eyes slowly widened and I let my gaze fall upon the sleeping figure of my personal assistant. I passed out last night and forgot to eat with him. I mentally smacked myself for even forgetting.
I quietly headed over to Logan, hunched over a bit by the couch, and woke him up.
"Get up. So we can still have time to eat. If you're not up by the time I finish getting ready, I'm leaving without you." I threatened.
I knew deep inside that it was something that I wouldn't be able to do to Logan. There was something about this kid that has been drawing me closer and closer to him by the hour.
I headed back to my room, quickly showered, brushed my teeth, and put on semi-formal clothes. I had to choose something that was comfortable to wear since I would most likely be walking around a lot. I quickly brushed my hair amd headed back to the kitchen. Logan was already there, bathed and dressed.
"Just in time, I had just finished heating up the food. I also prepared coffee." he smiled as he handed me a plate filled with the food he ordered last night.
"Eat with me." I said.
"Of course, Dr. Burton." he smiled.
We grabbed our plates and headed towards the dining area. We sat in front of each other and started eating our breakfast quietly. Once we were done eating, I pulled out my phone and booked a car service that was coming soon. Logan placed my coffee in my thermostat.
I hate people touching my things, but for some reason, I wasn't angry with Logan. A honk came from outside and Logan quickly grabbed our plates and set it to soak in the sink. He headed outside and slid in the car.
I pulled out my phone once again and told my parents I was stopping by before heading to work. None of them replied to my messages. Maybe they were busy with work.
"Are your parents doctors in the same field as well?" he asked as if on cue.
"No, but my mom is a Psychology graduate. They run a family business now to help provide for things." I said quietly.
When we got to our area, Logan was happily looking around as if fascinated at how big it was.
"You're able to sustain this kind of lifestyle." he mused.
As if on cue Damien and Nina came running to the front gate. I scrunched up my nose as a familiar scent hit my nose.
"Good morning, Mister and Missus Burton. My name is Logan Wolff, I am currently Dr. Burton's personal assistant." he smiled.
My parents suddenly flashed me a beam. I know that look. You don't get to give me that look because he is nowhere near anything like that to me. He is just a personal assistant that I have dragged along with me to save me some time because I know for a fact that he would get lost on his way to the institution. I can kind of understand why they're acting this way. In all the years that I have been walking on this Earth, I have never brought anyone home with me. Not a friend, not a classmate, nothing. They would always tease me that despite being a psychology major, I was not as sociable as they had expected me to be.
