Chapter 8

Yelina’s Point of View I rolled in my bed as soon as I got inside. I don’t seem to have any strength to go downstairs and join them in their dinner. My head feels so heavy after those pieces of information I tried to absorb all at once. I took a deep breath before I raised my hand midair and stared at the mark. Again, I can’t help but to blush as I remember Zachary’s words. I don’t know if he is just making things up, because I mean, do we really need to make out for him to use the power sealed inside my body? Like, are there any other ways to do it? I really don’t think I can do it. I am not mentally, emotionally, and maybe physically prepared. I mean, I saw his thing, and I don’t know if it’s big compared to others since I haven’t seen anything other than his, but I do think that it will not really fit in. It will rip me in half! My face heats up as I picture his thing out in my mind. I can imagine it hanging between his legs, slowly swinging as he moves. Oh my gosh! I rolled over my bed and covered my eyes as if it would help me unsee the image inside my head. I started slapping myself just to get rid of it. But it seems like a stain in a white dress, and no matter what I do. I almost feel out of bed when I heard three knocks on my door before Milly spoke, “Lady Yelina?” “Y-Yes?” I responded, getting out of bed to open the door. She greeted me with a smile and even wagged her tail. “Dinner is ready. Everyone is in the hall now,” she said. “The Alpha told me to get you and join us.” “O-Oh...” I scratched the back of my head, flashing an awkward smile. “I...I think I am still full from the meal a earlier,” I lied. I just don’t want to see Zachary this time, especially when my mind is not in its best condition. Seeing him would not help me at all. “But the others are excited to have a meal with you,” she insisted. “They even decided to wait for you to come down so we will all eat together,” she emphasized, as if she’s targeting my ego and conscience, and she successfully did; she just made me feel awful. “Fine, I got it,” I replied, pouting. “Let’s go.” She giggled before she gently held my arm and guided me downstairs. When we reached the hall, I was welcomed by the whole pack. Their golden pairs of eyes are looking at me with adoration. I can even see some wagging their tails. “Lady Yelina!” they all called. I waved my hand and smiled at them. I saw the cooks waved at me and motioned me to sit with them. I was about to go to their side when Milly stopped me. She guided to where Zachary is, and when I asked her why, she told me that it is where the Luna should sit. At first I was confused by the term she used, but when she explained that it is a term used to call the Alpha’s partner. I took a seat beside Zachary but I made sure I am a meter away from him. Milly then joined the others, leaving me feeling all awkward. “Do you dislike me that much that you’re obviously showing how distant you are to me?” I heard Zachary mumbled. “You should sit at least a foot away from me,” he added, and since I did not listen to him, he was the one who moved his seat next to me. “I will officially announce your arrival after this meal.” He stood up and called everyone’s attention before signalling them all to eat. And since I don’t really have the appetite to eat beside this Alpha, I just took little bites and tasted the food we all prepared. Almost everything here is identical to the human realm, even the fruits and vegetables. If it weren’t for their tails, fangs, eyes, and ears, I would really think that I am still in the human realm. “Everyone...” Zachary spoke, getting up from his chair. “I know everyone is aware of the new bearer’s arrival, but I would like to officially announce it. Let’s all give Yelina a warm welcome,” he added, and they all clapped their hands at me and some even whistled and cheered. “Also, starting from this day, you should address her as Luna, got it?” “Yes, Alpha!” --- “Where are we going?” I asked Zachary. He pulled me out of the dining hall as soon as the announcement was done. He dragged me somewhere until I found myself outside the fortress. I can feel the chills seeping through my skin. “You need to see what’s outside,” he answered as he offered his hand to assist me. “Take my hand; it’s a bit slippery in here,” he added. I had no choice but to hold it since I am also afraid to fall. My body shivered as soon as my feet sunk deep in the pile of snow. “C-Cold...” I murmured, and was about to take a step backwards but he stopped me. “You must get used to the cold, Yelina. This will be your world now,” he said. “The snow in this area will never cease to exist.” “What?” I quickly replied. “Is it the only season in this world?” He shook his head. “Somehow,” he replied. “But there are other seasons beyond this area. There’s spring, summer, fall, winter. And that is where we plant fruits and vegetables and raise animals and sometimes hunt,” he explained. “And there’s a big reason to why such there’s only winter in this place; and you’ll know it sooner or later.” I just nodded at him before I asked him if we could go inside since I really don’t think I can stay out for too long. I might freeze to death if I stay a few minutes longer. I’ll just tour around the fortress tomorrow. For now, I need some rest because it’s been a very, very long and tiring day for me.
