Chapter 9

Yelina’s Point of View “Luna...” I turned around as soon as I heard Milly’s voice. I am currently heading back to my room to have some sleep. “I forgot to tell you that you will be sleeping in the Alpha’s chamber tonight and for the following nights,” she informed as soon as our eyes met. She then flashed an awkward smile before slightly bowing her head, “I am sorry I told you this late.” I just let out a sigh since she did not let me cut her between her sentences. It seems like she is already aware that I am not yet comfortable with Zachary. I took a deep breath to calm down. “Can’t I just stay in that room you let me use?” She slowly shakes her head, looking up to meet my gaze. “I am afraid you can’t, Luna Yelina. It has always been this way—the Luna and Alpha should sleep in the same chamber since you’re already considered as one,” she explained. “Everyone in the pack sees you and the Alpha as partners so it would be weird to have you sleep in a separated room.” “But...” I bit my lower lip, massaging my temple. I sighed in defeat since I know nothing will even change no matter how much I complain. I don’t want to waste my energy because I am so tired. My body feels so heavy after everything. “Fine. I’ll go there all by myself; no need to escort me,” I told her, passing through her. “And your clothes...” she said. I stopped and turned around. “We are yet to measure your body. Will it be okay for you to use some of mine?” “Yes, no problem,” I told her. She just gave me a nod before she excused herself to get some of her clothes. I then proceeded in Zachary’s room. Glad he is not yet here. I can still rest easy. I tour my eyes around the room. It’s as massive as my room back in the mortal realm. But what caught my eyes most is the canopy bed with a thick blanket made from fur. The bed made me feel all the exhausting feelings I have been repressing since I came here. I wanted to sleep as fast as I can but my body feels so sticky. I immediately went to check on the bathroom and was surprised to see a tub made from bricks. There’s also flowing water coming out from a pipe. And what surprised me more is when I found out that it is hot water. I got excited and immediately removed all my clothes. I dipped my body in the tub and I moaned in pleasure as the warmth of the water soothed my body. I closed my eyes to feel it more. Warm water is really effective in soothing the muscles and calming the mind. I feel like I can fall asleep from the sensation, but I held myself back since I don’t want to be found by Zachary without any clothes on. When I was about to finish my bath, that’s when it sinks to me that I did not bring any change of clothes nor a robe to wrap around my body. I bit my lower lip and gave myself a slap for being so stupid. Never in my mind did it cross that I am no longer alone in my room. This is what I get after getting used to living alone. I peeked through the door to see Zachary is already inside, and when I saw no traces of him, that’s when I decided to get out and rush to find a robe. I don’t care if it is his or mine; I just want to grab something to cover my body. “Aren’t you way too excited?” I froze as soon as I heard his voice. Time seems to have stopped as soon as I realized that he’s already inside. Slowly, I turned to the direction where I heard his voice and I screamed at the top of my lungs when I saw him sitting on the edge of the canopy bed. He was hidden by the curtains, that reason why I didn’t see him in the first place. I screamed as loud as I can as I try to cover my top body then shifts down. I can feel my face burning in embarrassment and dashed my way back to the bathroom, hands suspended midair. I banged the door with all of my force and leaned against it. I can feel all my blood rushing on my cheeks. My heart is pounding in adrenaline and shame. Oh my gosh! He saw it! He saw everything! I screamed once more on a higher pitch. I don’t care if anyone hears us, I just want to let it all out. It was seconds after that I hear a commotion outside. The sounds of rushing footsteps were so loud. I can hear indistinct noises from where I am. So I decided to take a peak and saw Zachary dealing with the others who rushed to our room. He’s talking to them, probably explaining the situation. I was about to close the door when one of them saw me. “Luna Yelina!” she called. I cursed under my breath before shutting the door closed. I bit my lower lip as I cup my own face. Gosh, my face feels so hot from all the embarrassment and I don’t think it will go away anytime soon. I don’t even know if I still have a face to show them after this, especially that Zachary. I jolted when I heard a series of knocks on the door. I panicked since I don’t know what to do. “Open up, Yelina.” I heard Zachary said. “You can come out now. Everyone has left.” “N-No!” I promptly replied. “I...I think I’ll be okay here.” I heard his soft chuckle before he started knocking again. “Come out now. I have some pairs of clothes for you,” he said. “I’ll just leave them here then,” he added when I did not respond. “I’ll go out to give you some time to change and fix yourself.” I heard his footsteps going away from me.
