Chapter 7

Yelina’s Point of View I decided to help them prepare for dinner since I am having so much fun talking to them. The tension I have been feeling all over my body ever since I came here somehow lessened, and that’s a good start since I have to get used to this place as soon as possible. I am slowly accepting the fact that I will be stuck here for the rest of my life; and that I have zero chances of going back. I will not gain anything from sulking around and hating the fate that was given to me, so I have to move forward. And these people I am with now are making it all easy for me. “Lady Yelina, the alpha has arrived,” Milly announced as soon as she got in the kitchen. She left earlier to supervise the others. I nodded at her before I turned to the four cooks of the pack. “I’ll just go and see him for a while. I’ll be back and help with the preparations.” “No, no. It’s fine, Lady Yelina. You can take all the time you want with Alpha Zachary,” Lara said, smiling playfully before she giggled and the rest giggled, too. “You need to spend more time with him after all,” she added and their giggles went louder. “Stop teasing Lady Yelina, girls,” Milly butted in. “It’s fine, Milly,” I told her before I bid my goodbye to the four of them. “So, where is he?” “He’s probably in his room,” she replied. I nodded before I decided to go alone. I told Milly to remain downstairs since I know she still has some things to do. Based on my observation so far, Milly is the one who oversee the tasks of everyone in the house. And she wasn’t able to supervise them properly because most of her time goes to me. I am done with that kind of set-up; it’s reminding me of my life back then, so I wanted some changes and that starts with me gaining independence. When I reached Zachary’s room, I did not hesitate to know. “It’s Yelina,” I coldly said. And it was just a matter of seconds before the door opened. I quickly went inside but I regretted the decision. Zachary has no clothes on but a piece of towel covering his lower body. I can still see beads of water dripping down to his chiselled chest and toned body. I quickly turned around to hide my embarrassed face. I can feel my cheeks burning. I know I am no longer at the age to be flustered over a topless man, but never in my life have I ever seen one! Everything here is my first! “What is it?” I heard him ask. “P-Put some clothes first,” I monotonously said, but I still could not stop my voice from stuttering. “Done.” As soon as I heard his response, I turned around to face him. But I still could not get my eyes off his body since he is just wearing a black robe. I can still see some parts of his upper body peeking through the slits of the loosely-tied robe. “C-Can you fix your robe?!” I exclaimed. I can feel my face all heat up. I probably look like a goddamn tomato right now. “I don’t want to,” he said as if he is teasing me. A grin forms on his lips before he took a step closer to me. “Why, are you embarrassed? Haven’t you seen a nake-d body before?” “N-No,” I admitted, lowering my gaze to hide my face. “So fix it.” “Okay.” It took him a few seconds before he spoke again, “You can raise your head now.” I did what he said and I am relieved to see that he is all covered. “So, why did you come here?” “I want to ask you about something,” I started. He pointed a seat so I took it. “I’ve heard about the ‘mark’ thing,” I told him as soon as I sat down. I raised my hand to show him the back of my palm, “Is this what they’re talking about?” I saw him grin before he sat on the edge of his bed. “No,” he shortly replied. “It’s something else; and I don’t think you are ready to hear it.” My curiosity slowly ate my insides after I heard his response. “And do you think I won’t ask about it considering the way you delivered your response?” I creased my forehead at him. “Tell me. It’s not like I’ll run away after I hear it.” “I bet you would.” He smirked. “Considering your reaction upon seeing my body earlier, you’ll probably storm out of this room,” he added. I did not respond. I took my time to absorb what he said and my eyes gradually dilated as soon as I understood what he meant. I can imagine smoke coming out from my nose and ears in pure embarrassment. “W-Wait...” “Yes,” he seconded as if he has read through me. “The marking is just another word to describe making out,” he revealed. “And I don’t think we’re in a state where we can do that. Personally, I prefer we do it as soon as possible to avoid complications and problems, but as my respect to you as a woman, I am willing to wait ‘til you’re ready,” he reasoned out. “N-No...” I murmur. I shook my head as I held my cheeks with both hands. My face is so hot for pete’s sake! “I don’t think I can ever be ready for that,” I told him. “I don’t even have any experiences in romance.” I could not help but to curse my parents for isolating me from the world. I don’t even know what a man’s thing looks like until I saw it hanging between Zachary’s legs! “Then, shall we start from the basics?” he asks, playfully smiling at me. He stood up and walked towards me. I started to panic. So I stood up and was about to leave but I found myself caged between his arms. I can smell the scent of the wash he used in his body. “Where are you going? We’re having some lessons here.” “N-No...” I murmured. I wanted to push him away but I suddenly felt that strange feeling again. My body suddenly feels hot. My throat feels so dry, like I am thirsty for something. My body aches for Zacahary’s touch for no reasons at all. And there’s this pain again on my palm where the mark is located. “The bond is reacting again,” he whispered to me and my body shivers as soon as his warm breath touches my neck. I can smell the minty scent of his breath. “Can you feel it, Yelina? Can you feel the desire to feel my warmth?” he asked. “N-No...” I denied. “I...I don’t even know what you’re talking about.” “Really?” he whispered, leaning closer to me. I can feel the tip of his nose hitting my earlobe. “Y-Yes.” My body stiffens and shivers at the same time in excitement. I gulped to suppress the feeling but it is not working. My body is burning; it’s so sensitive that it reacts even just to his warm breath. I can feel my knees slowly losing their strength. I might fall any moment from now. I need something to grip to support my weight. “Why does it seem like you’re body is telling the opposite?” he whispered right in front of my ears. “I can smell you desire. I can feel your body’s call for my warmth,” he added. “Can you feel mine?” He started touching my face with his finger, tracing the line on my jaw. I shifted my face to the other side. “D-Don’t touch me.” I was expecting him to insist but I was surprised to actually see him moving away from me. His playful grin is gone. He stared at me with a neutral look. “That’s the reason why we should get together well. There’s no room for hate between us, Yelina, because the bond we have will pull us together even if it is against our will,” he said before he turned around. “We should work on our relationship from this day onwards. Trust me; this is not just for the benefit of us but for the benefit of everyone.” I returned to my seat since my knees are so week to support my weight. I can still feel them shaking. The sensation hasn’t left my body yet. I still feel so warm and sensitive. But I am somehow relieved that Zachary stopped before I unwillingly submit myself to him. He earned my respect for that. The hate I feel towards him somehow lessened. “What do you mean for the benefit of everyone?” I asked. He raised his hand where the mark identical to mine is located. He pointed it with his other finger. “This is not just an ordinary mark. This is actually what links me to you,” he explained. “I believe you were already told that you are the vessel of my divine powers, didn’t you?” I nodded. “Good.” He went to his bed and sat down, facing me. “The marks we have will serve as medium for that divine power to be channeled from you to me. You’re literally a vessel that contains my power,” he said. I was about to react when he talked again, “But...” “But what?” I asked since there was a long pause after it. “But it needs to be activated—the marks, I mean,” he answered. “And that’s when the marking enters,” he emphasized. I nodded at him before I lowered my gaze. “I know you’re not yet ready so I will give you time to be,” he assured. “So cooperate with me and stop hating me for something I didn’t even do,” he added. “Let’s work our relationship out, because as long as the marking haven’t took place, I can only use my physical strength in defending this fortress and the northern gate.” He took a deep breath before he looked outside his window. “And not to put pressure on you, but it will take more than just physical strength to fend off those first creations.” My brows furrowed since I heard some terms I am not familiar with. “Can you tell me more about that northern gate and first creations you just mentioned?” I asked. “Oh...” He looked at me with amusement. “You did not read the book handed to you, didn’t you?” “Yes.” He scoffed at me. “You’re a deviant.” “I know,” I seconded and rolled my eyes at him which made him chuckle. “You have a little attitude problem, I can see it,” he said. And before I could even react, he spoke, “The Northern Gate is one of the four parts where the dimensional wall is weak; the part where the creations before humans and us, can pass with ease,” he started explaining. “These weak parts are soon called as gates. These gates are the entrance to the mortal realm, the Divine Creator’s paradise. And the reason why we, divine guardians, came to life is to defend these gates and make sure that those creations can never lay their hands in His paradise.” I shook my head, brows almost meeting. “I still don’t get a thing from your explanation,” I told him. I heard him sigh before he stood up and walked towards a mini shelf. “That’s what you get from not reading anything.” He turned to me and handed me a book. “That’s the book one of the bearers had with her when she came here. It contains the information you need to understand what I am trying to say.” I accepted the book and flipped through the pages. The book is not that thick. It’s just a few pages so it didn’t really take me long to digest the essential information is contains. It says here that... A long time ago, after mountains and plains surfaced from the depths of the sea—giving life to various life forms—the Divine Creator decided to create beings who will cultivate his paradise. His first creations were towering beings with skin as hard and rough as rocks hailing from the liquid fire of the earth. However, he found out that they lack the ability to think differently from the organisms that were born from the land and sea. So he decided to create another form of beings. His second creations were foot-long beings born from the depths of the ground; with skin as nude and dry as the lands; with the ability to think more rational than other life forms. However, he found out that his second creations were unable to handle beings from the high grounds because of their size. This gave way for his third creations—from the whistling wind, meter-tall beings equipped with wings, with skin as white as the clouds and sight as clear as the falcons, were born. With their ability to fly, they were able to monitor the lands from the sky. However, He observed that these beings treat other life forms as inferior creations, leading him to create another one. His fourth creations were meter tall beings that arose from the bed of the sea. With skin as blue as the vast ocean, with thinking as deep as the trench, he thought they are perfect. However, as time passed by, he saw how destructive they were. With approach as rough as the roaring tides, some life forms became vulnerable to extinction. And just before creating another form of beings that he will entrust his paradise with, he dedicated his time to think and analyze things. After countless thoughts and analyses, he finally decided to create beings that are based on his physique. From the dust of the grounds and moist from the sea, he created figures as big and tall as him. He gave them features based from him. And from the boiling liquid fire of the earth, he gave them warmth. And from the howling winds from the sky, he gave them air. He was astounded by his new creations. Surge of emotions flooded his heart, and so he cried. Before his tears could kiss the ground, he gathered them all and decided to put it on his creations' bodies. Tears from his right eye which carry the memories of thinking and analyzing things thoroughly were put in the heads of his creations, believing it would give them the ability to think and analyze things the way he did. His left eye's tears, which carry all of his emotions, were put in the left side of their chests, believing it would guide them to make right decisions with right emotions and feelings. And so He finally created beings that were able to cultivate His paradise. Everything is going smoothly not until when his other creations protested and fought for their rights to rule over His paradise. In a snap of his hands, an extended land outside his paradise was created. He put his four creations in that land and told them, "From this empty land, create thy paradise and you shall have the right to rule over mine." However, the four generations he created answered, "You are no father. We vow to destroy your paradise and your children!" He felt the anger and jealousy of his creations. He felt their strong intent to destroy his paradise and new creations. He wanted to stop them, but he cannot afford to hurt them with his hands. They are still his children; he cannot lay even a finger to hurt them. So to stop his four creations from their evil plan, he created a dimensional wall that stops them from stepping on to his paradise. However it was not enough to stop them. There were times when he noticed that some parts of the wall is weak, and his four creations get stronger than they usually are during those times. So he decided to create another form of beings—four supreme beings that will stop his four creations from penetrating the dimensional wall. And to make sure that his sixth creations will not take the path his four creations took, he sought help from his fifth creations which he soon called humans. Every century, four individuals from the human realm are chosen to aid the four beings he created from stopping the resistance of the four generations. These individuals are the vessels of the divine power he bestowed upon his sixth creations. This is to ensure that his sixth creations will not turn their back against him, and the only way to utilize this power is to win the humans' favor.
