Prophecy

I fell flat on my face with Granny White chuckling at me from behind. I grunt as I stand to my feet, brushing myself off. I take a look around and notice we are not at the Sacred Waters anymore.     "Granny White where are we?" I question as my eye lock onto a young woman tending to a young sapling of a tree. Granny White said nothing but pointed to the young woman.     She was beautiful a petite frame, long white hair that reached the ground. She had bright mossy green eyes, and this tenderness to her that I couldn't quite describe. She was dressed in a simple gown of tans and whites, a crown of flowers adorned on her head.     She walked straight to us and extended her hand to me. No words needed I placed my hand in hers and followed, only glancing back at Granny White to see a firm nod. Which I now realized wasn't directed at me, but to her.     I was pulled to the sapling and sat gingerly by it. The young woman's smile was angelic, and I didn't realize I was staring so intently until her melodic voice finally broke the silence. "You are late" she spoke soft with this subtle show of power that you couldn't help but bow down to.     "I'm sorry?" it was meant to come out clearer but sounded more like a question. She giggled, a wind seemed to flow around us at the mere sound of it. I was simply captivated.     "No need for apologies child, you have opened the book and can now see and speak with me. I have waited centuries to finally meet you."  she explained casually. What did she mean though, like she was centuries old? Is that possible? I mean I wouldn't put anything past me at this point.     As if the questions were as clear as day on my face she continued. "No dear, not exactly. I am but a memory, a small piece of my former self saved within the pages of the book. I come to each of my ancestors after they all figure out how to open the book. However, they normally do not bring an audience with them."     I assume she meant Granny White who stayed back where we originally landed in the book. "Adira you know the rules, and I don't know why you wish to break this tradition?" Granny White bowed her head but remained silent.     Moving back to me she grasped my hand tightly. Turning my hand over to reveal my wrist, and as she squeezed tightly a faint mark began to appear. As she continued to squeeze, I thought she was going to break my hand, but watching more carefully the marks began to darken.     She loosened her grip after what seemed like an eternity and brought my wrist closer to her face. She seemed to be in anguish as if I was burning her as she stared undeniably at the new black spots upon my wrist.     "You are the true descendant of the Demon King and you are the most powerful white witch of your time. With training you will even become more powerful than I. However, what I could not predict is that you have reign over more than one element as a white witch. You were only to have the element of fire which would match well with your demon heritage....." she stopped mid-sentence.     "Adira do you have an explanation? Did you do this?" she stared Granny White down her aura powerful, demanding obedience and respect. Granny White just shook her head and the wind whipped up into a frenzy. I guess that is not the answer she was looking for.     Not pressing matters further, she came back to her charming self as she addressed me once again. "I suppose I should have explained things a bit more before revealing your affinity. I am Adelaide Dryden White, the first white witch, and your great ancestor. With every passing generation everyone is given a chance to open the book and meet with me. Most don't ever figure it out, and that just means they were never meant to be here. You however are a girl of prophecy, said to bring many years of peace to all of the realms. Being a mixed breed will be your greatest strength and your greatest weakness."     I have no words, my mouth keeps opening but no sounds can be heard. I have gone into a state of shock, and I feel like I'm drowning. The overwhelming news and new information keeps pilling on, weighing me down, sinking me to the bottom of some deep abyss.     I saw no movements but felt a cooling touch as someone holds my face and wipes the tears from my cheeks. I was so far gone I had lost myself to darkness momentarily. "Sweet child, you are not alone. I understand that this is much to hear, and even more so to accept. You will be a great leader, but for now you must master not only your hellfire but all four elements on your witch side."     "Did you just say four?!" Granny White finally spoke, shock apparent in her voice "you are the only white  witch ever to have had control over the four  elements, it is impossible for Anastazia to have those same abilities and be a half breed!"     "Silence" Adelaide sated firm, full of power and yet her voice still sounded as sweet as cotton candy to me. She was really one scary woman. "Adira you will train her, teach her in all you know over the next two weeks, and on her 18th birthday you will hold two ceremonies for her. The ceremony for coming of age, and a head ceremony."     Unable to respond to the commands Adelaide has given her, Granny White just shook her head solemnly. I finally had the voice to ask "why me?" That sweet smile decorating her face shown down on me. She kissed my forehead gently and simply said "it is your destiny my child"     With that we were suddenly back at the Sacred Waters with a very worried Gabriel shaking my body. "Are you ok?!" he was screaming into my face. I looked up to him and nodded slowly. I looked back to Granny White and with the small bit of energy and courage I had left I told her "let's get started"
