Meeting

Meeting Madam Astir choked up on the words that she wanted to say to persuade his third son about the sudden engagement. Her third son’s inquiry and the tone of his voice allowed her to note that he did not care about it, whether he is going to get married or not. An unspeakable pain sprouted from Madam Astir’s chest, tears welling up in her eyes that are directed at Kallum. Kallum looks languid while leaning against the bed’s headboard, but as his mother, Madam Astir could barely understand the unwillingness buried deep inside his being. Who would want to live a life of being paralyzed to the waist down after living normally for 25 years? At least, Kallum’s reaction is still neutral, only because he did not show any emotions at all. Not when the doctors announced his condition, and not when Cleo humiliated him on the star network. He did not say anything, nor he did he do something, like a block of wood. And this is the reason for Madam Astir’s worries. Her magnificent and brilliant son is currently like a boat on the stormy seas that is on the verge of capsizing. He is letting the waves to do whatever it wants, and that is not the Kallum Vin Alraym that his mother knows. “Vin…mother wants you to hold on. That is the only thing I want, and about the marriage contract…I just want you to settle down after this kind of accident.” Madam Astir explained, and her expression at the end of her words, twisted into fury. The accident that almost killed her third son is not a simple accident. There are many who wanted them dead, and this time, someone almost got away with it. The Alrayms have already started their investigations, on the surface or hidden in the darkness. Even with the peace that was brought by the honorable lives of the millions of soldiers of the Human race civilization and the Military command for them to become one of the seven highest civilizations in the Blue Moon Galaxy, the machinations and ambitions of many others have never stopped to scatter throughout the territory of the human race. Infighting and chaos can never be gone, especially with the deep complexity of the mentality of the human minds. Kallum flicked his silver pupils in the direction of the opened window; the words of his mother rang in his ears. He nodded lightly in agreement. Kallum understood his mother’s heartache, and it does not even matter who he marries at this kind of juncture, especially with him being already having the title of a disabled that is being mocked by those who has been envious of his privilege for being an Alraym. Madam Astir could not believe her eyes. Did her third son really agreed to her ridiculous arrangements? “That’s great Vin, I will immediately schedule a meeting for both families.” The edges of his lips twisted in a shallow smile. “I understand.” Madam Astir nodded hastily to his third son before pulling her twins out of the room for Kallum to rest. “Mom, did third elder brother really agree to get married to a stranger?” Even Axel could not believe that his usually logical and calm third elder brother would agree to his mother’s nonsense decision of arranging an engagement after Cleo Martin pulled out of being their third elder brother’s fiancée. “Let’s go. It is a great idea for your third elder brother to get married now. I want that kid from the Martin family to know that she isn’t as important as she thinks she is.” “Does she really think our family will beg them to not break the engagement?” “Why can’t I just find a girl more pleasing to the eyes than her?” Madam Astir snorted with displeasure at the thought of Cleo’s seemingly gentle and pure personality that made her want to vomit now. Axel and Art listened all the way to their mother’s ramblings without interrupting her, lest she direct her anger at them. When they reached the door of the mansion, the twins cleverly escaped to their rooms seeing that an incoming call notification is floating on their mother’s quantum chip. Madam Astir swiped through the screen, and the handsome face of her handsome quickly changed her grumpy and irritated expression into a blooming smile. “Honey, are you on the way home now?” Her voice even softened down sweetly like a little girl in love. Such a face changing technique, the ninjas of the past earth could only bow at her ability. Syr heaved a sigh of relief after seeing her two new brothers leave. The feeling of having a new family is still daunting even if she had already accepted it. It is a good thing that Syr is not a shy or timid young girl due to her inherent personality born from her dragon instincts. Otherwise, who knows how she will cope with such a change. Tilting her head to the side, Syr caught sight of the sealed letter on the bedside table, and Quinn’s reminder popped up in her mind. She took it and held it in her hand. The soft and silky texture of the sealed letter, made Syr aware it is a rare material. Though it did not surprise or amaze her after knowing from Syraen’s memories about the information pertaining to the Union leader in Quinn’s words. Breaking the wax seal of the letter with an intricate design of a cursive Alraym written on it, Syr was met with shock as a holographic screen suddenly popped out from inside the letter and a 3D image of a man was instantly reflected on Syr’s golden pupils. The realistic image that made each line of the young man’s face feel so close to her touch, and his overwhelming lethal looks dumbfounded the Dragon princess of the Black Dragon Kingdom in a frozen state. Syr had been all over Meos, and she had seen a lot of extraordinary beings of the different races with features more outstanding than the last, but this is the first time that she saw such a face that could really bewitch someone into destruction. Even the king of the elven race could only serve as this young man’s backdrop. Knowing that this letter was sent by her betrothed’s mother, Syr suddenly want to laugh. It’s like she’s proudly showing off her son to Syr. “It looks like the god of luck is shining his light upon me.” Syr would never have known that aside from having the change of reincarnation, she would also be betrothed to such a handsome man. Life is really good. Looking at the image of her betrothed, Syr was suddenly thrown in a crisis. “He is going to be my husband soon, but I don’t know how to be a wife material like what my mom always mention.” Syr felt a headache coming at her own thoughts. She has been living for 300 hundred years, but she is a blank individual when it comes to love and relationships. How could she face her future husband if she doesn’t even know how to act like a wife?
