Syraen Draecy’s patient room is shrouded in a comfortable silence as Quinn and the supposedly asleep Syr, dealt with the issues that are plaguing their thoughts at the moment.
Syr is focusing on her own soul that might have her greatest treasure from Meos. Quinn on the other hand is busy with checking the row and rows of information sent on his email by the black hacker that he had hired to check on everything about the third son of the Union leader.
Quinn Draecy has been socializing with the higher society of the Capital city of Evergreen since he celebrated his twentieth birthday, and he had seen a lot, but the Alrayms are still a mystery to him.
The Alrayms are hard to be made as friends, especially with their high standing that is already at the top of the wealthiest, with the highest authority of the many powerful families of the human race civilization of the main star.
Their only downside is that no one on their past and current generation managed to awaken a single ancestral.
Listening to the calming beeping sound of the medical equipment along with their low breathing, Quinn managed to settle down his restless heart from worrying about how to relay the news to his younger sister.
This quiet atmosphere is entirely in contrast with the heated air around the mansion of the Alrayms.
“How preposterous…that kid from the Martin family really thinks of herself as some kind of unattainable person? How could she even dare to humiliate my son?” Astir Mircell Alraym, the wife of the Union Leader and the only madam of the Alraym family hurtled down the microcomputer in front of her across the floor of the living room.
The usually gentle, elegant and manner-filled madam born from the Mircell scholar family immediately turned incensed at the indignation that befell his third son.
Madam Astir felt that she had been muddled for too long that she did not see the real face of that former future daughter-in-law of hers.
If it wasn’t for the accident that happened to her third son, would she allow such a person to enter their doors? Madam Astir felt her insides churning in grief and melancholy at the thought of her third son’s unfortunate accident that allowed them to fortunately get rid of such a poisonous person that almost crossed the threshold of their mansion.
She finds it sensible to say that fortune is only three letters less of misfortune. The situation of her third son is most likely so, but it cost her third son too much.
Madam Astir gave birth to six children, with the five sons and one daughter. The eldest son Alric is already 30 years old and is known as a genius mecha engineer that leads the R&D division of the Alraym Industries.
The second son unfortunately died a week after being born prematurely, but he is still part of the family records, making Kallum as the third son, and third young master of the Alrayms.
The eldest and only daughter is Kassia Alraym. She is a famous lawyer in the State Interstellar Law building of the Human race star union.
Axel and Art, are the twins and youngest of the Alrayms, and have just moved into their senior year of high school.
The twins shared a hesitant look with each other. It is still their vacation for their private senior school, so they are the only ones home in their mansion, aside from their mother and third elder brother who is currently recuperating inside their own medical building on the east of their mansion.
The twins wanted to let their mother to calm down her anger, but the two teenagers are also burning with fury over what happened with their third elder brother. Cleo Martin is really a shameless girl in their eyes. The way she curried favor and tried to stick like jelly to their third elder brother from the past three years, and how she immediately and unhesitatingly turned her back after knowing their third elder brother’s condition after the accident, made them feel really disgusted with her.
It is fine if they did not treat her with sincerity, but their family really did treat Cleo Martin as a part of the family, and it is all because she is engaged to their third elder brother and will be their sister-in-law in the future. But she really managed to open their eyes to how shameless a human being can be, and the ridiculous part of it, is that, it was the Martin family that put forth the marriage engagement to begin with.
Axel felt worried as he watched his mother almost turning red from fury and he could even imagine the smoke coming out of her ears. He quickly stood next to her while patting her back and Art followed on the other side while doing the same patting motions.
“Mother, it is no use getting angry now. We need to face the situation calmly for the sake of third elder brother.” Knowing what will make their mother calm down, Axel smartly mentioned their third elder brother, and Madam Astir really did heave a deep breath before turning back to the elegant and poised madam of the Alraym family.
“You’re right. It is mother who is being immature. Let’s go, come with me to check on your third elder brother.” Madam Astir patted Axel and Art’s hands in her own as she sighed in defeat while thinking of her third son’s condition.
Another issue popped up in Madam Astir’s mind. On her rage and indignation about what Cleo Martin had done a few days ago on the star network, Madam Astir resolutely decided to find another betrothed for her son.
Madam Astir and Klay Alraym, the Union leader, are the perfect example of a contract marriage, and it is the reason why Madam Astir believes that love can be present with the many interactions of the couple after being tied by marriage, especially with the looks of her third son that no young lady could resist.
So, with the resources and information gathering of the Alraym family, Madam Astir found a really pleasing young lady in her eyes, and that young lady is even the daughter of her distant cousin that she owed her life to.
Madam Astir grew impulsive and contacted Syraen’s father with the intention of a contract marriage between the two families, and Viscount Drake is only a fool if he would not agree.
It was only at this moment that Madam Astir felt that she may have decided recklessly, but she cannot take back her word, so she readied herself to inform her third son with the engagement to the Draecy family.
No matter what, she will still be scolded, so why not let it happen quickly?
Madam Astir Alraym decided to confess immediately to her third son, lest she face the whole family’s scolding once they arrive from work.
Leaving the living room of their mansion and exiting the front door, Madam Astir and the twins turned right in a tiled pathway to the east medical building. They passed by a spacious garden with pavilions, giving off a peaceful atmosphere without even the mark of any high technology of the interstellar.
Their mansion and the buildings around it are similar to the designs of the past buildings on earth, but hidden under its pillars and foundations are the fruits of the advanced technology of the interstellar. The territory of the Alraym family is found a over fifty miles away from the capital city, and it spans hectares across a verdant forest that solely belongs to them.
The Alraym family does not depend much on housekeeping robots in terms of their mansion’s management. They have their own servants that have been following their family for generations.
Of course, these servants are deeply loyal to the Alrayms. The descendants of these servants grew up while choosing for themselves to follow the Alrayms or not, and the ones that stayed are highly trained servants and even fighters, all for the betterment of the Alraym family.
In a fifteen minute walk, Madam Astir and the twins stood in front of a four story building specially built for the medical needs of the Alrayms, in the case of an emergency. It contains the newest and intricate up to-date medical equipment that could not just be bought by money in the Blue moon galaxy.
Only those with the connections high enough as the five families of the main star could afford it.
“Madam, Fourth young master, Fifth young master…you came in the right time, Third young master have just woken up from his sleep.” The tall and sturdy man that came out of the door suddenly spotted the three of them, and hurriedly greeted them with respect. Rio Trey is the personal assistant of Kallum that deals with the concerns of the company in his absence since the day of the accident. He is a highly efficient man and an excellent director of the board, but he stays as Kallum’s personal assistant on his own will.
“Vin is awake? Let’s go inside quickly!” Madam Astir hurriedly pulled her twins after a brief pleasant surprise flickered in the depths of her eyes. Although Kallum’s injuries are already healed with the most advanced medical technology of the Blue moon galaxy, it also took a lot of his energy in the process of the nanoparticles infusion to heal his inner injuries, whether it be the tears on his organs or the internal bleedings.
But, even with his complete treatment, the numerous doctors that the Alrayms have invited still couldn’t deal with the strange nerve poison that paralyzed Kallum’s lower body.
And it only deepened their earlier guess that Kallum’s accident in the border planet might be the malicious plot of others.
It has been five days since the accident, and Kallum barely woke up two times, and he fell asleep again after barely five minutes of being sober.
So, it is really a pleasant surprise for them to know that Kallum is awake.
The three of them took the elevator to the highest floor that only contains one room.
Opening the transparent door with her biometrics, Madam Astir immediately smelled the scent of the nutrition liquid that made her frown unnoticeably. The heavy load on her heart once again doubled its weight as the image of Kallum when he was rushed into the emergency room after the accident flashed past in her mind.
The blood that is almost on every part of Kallum’s body and his pale skin turning purple due to the nerve poison, Madam Astir felt her heart being gripped tightly by the claws of despair at that time.
“Mom…?” Art noticed his mother’s absentmindedness, so he hastily called out to her.
Madam Astir smile bitterly at his youngest son. She shook her head at the worry in the eyes of the twins before stepping inside the spacious room and laying their sight on the young man leaning against the headboard of his bed.
Kallum is wearing a white hospital gown that looks even brighter because of his pale skin, and underneath it, hides the beautiful sets of muscles on his tall and slender body. The contours of his face, with the sharp but perfect lines of his nose growing contrast with the soft upturned bend of his eyes, and his light red dyed thin lips made for a lethal sight in the eyes of any human in the galaxy.
Kallum’s silver pupils gazed blankly at the opened window of the fourth floor with no one knowing the destination of his thoughts.
