ANGELICA'S POV
After knocking twice on the door, I entered the cabin when I heard Sir Dylan saying 'Come in' from inside.
"Sir, you needed me -" I paused when I saw the food displayed on the table.
"Have you had your lunch? We ordered food. How could we leave you out after making you work so much?" Dylan sir looked at me with a soft expression, and all my irritation dissipated into nothingness.
"You didn't have to, sir. I was going to eat in the cafeteria -"
"I told you. We should've asked her," Sir Ericson scoffed, and I sighed before walking to them.
"It's a good thing I hadn't ordered anything," I lied, and Dylan clicked his fingers.
"So it's all decided. We didn't make any mistakes. Tell me. How was your first half of the day? Was it bearable?" Sir Dylan looked at me as if I was his long-lost friend, and he wasn't one of the reasons I was so tired.
"It was okay, I guess. It's my first job after graduation, so I don't know many things. I am getting a hang of it and will get used to it soon," I confessed honestly.
"I am glad," he patted the seat beside him, and I noticed how the place was almost between Sir Ericson and him.
What is with him always making me sit between them?
"I hope the food is up to your liking. I ordered after referring to the dishes you ate during yesterday's party," Dylan said again, bringing me out of my thoughts. I smiled before sitting between them.
My knees grazed with both of their legs as I sat, and I felt a little conscious.
"You can be free and comfortable. It's not working hours," Sir Ericson said as he bent to take some pasta on his plate, and I gulped at his proximity.
If I turn my head, I swear I will feel his breath fanning my face and -
"Are you not going to eat?" Sir Dylan placed his hand on my knees, and I shook in shock before looking at him directly into his eyes.
Stop. He was just trying to gain your attention. I told myself.
"I am," I said before taking my plate.
Things were awkward, but nothing could come between my food and me. I shrugged before stuffing my plate and eating to my heart's content.
To say the food was tasty would be an understatement. It was beyond delicious, and I had to control my constant urge to moan at the savory taste when it melted in my mouth.
Sometimes, I feel foodgasms are real.
Once done, I licked my lips before placing the plate down.
With a content smile, I turned to Sir Dylan, who was already looking at me with an amused smile.
"When I told you to eat, I didn't mean to go all bombastic. You barely looked up from your plate," he said, and I chuckled awkwardly.
"Here," Sir Dylan said, his hand cupping my jaws before he wiped something off my lips.
His actions as he licked the thumb made my heart pick its pace, and I gulped at the insinuation that was probably just my naughty mind’s imagination.
"You are so cute when you eat like that. I thought you were hungry last night, but it looks like you have a good appetite. I like girls who can eat freely," Sir Dylan pulled on my cheeks, and I blushed slightly.
Slightly? I was full-on becoming anxious in my heart. Why are they making my heart beat like that for them?
"If I were you, I would be careful about how I act around her. You wouldn't want her to run away again, right?" Sir Ericson looked at me with amusement and mischief dancing in his eyes.
"Hey, I didn't run away. I went to sleep and -"
"Are you sure about that now, Miss Li?" He suddenly bent towards me, and I gulped, maintaining my ground and not shifting away. I breathed a sigh of relief when he picked up French fries and returned to his previous position.
I didn't know what to make of their behavior anymore. They were acting like they weren't my bosses when they had been the ones roasting me a few minutes ago.
It was uncalled for.
"I hope you are okay with us being your friends. It's been a long time since we returned to the country, and since we don't have many friends, we can only find solace in our secretaries, who are you," Dylan looked at me with a sincerity that had me shaking my head.
"That's okay. I don't have many friends either," I smiled before looking at my watch.
"It's almost time," I smiled before standing from my place.
"Thank you for the amazing food," I nodded at them and was about to leave when Sir Dylan held my hand and pushed me back onto the sofa, making me squeal.
"What the -" I was surprised, and he looked at me, amused.
"What the -?” Dylan mused, and I blushed at the almost slip-up of my tongue.
“Anyway, there is still some time for office hours. You are still my friend," he said before he looked at my foot with a displeased look.
"Wear these slippers. You can wear these heels when going to other departments or outdoor meetings," Sir Ericson called their other secretary, who brought the slippers.
With a pleased sigh, I looked at my bosses, who cared so much for me.
"Now stop gawking at me like you want to jump my bones and wear these," Dylan's words brought me out of my reverie. I quickly put on the slippers before thanking them and leaving the cabin.
Seriously, I don't know what was going on with them. I have heard of people keeping their personal and professional lives separate, but this was bipolarness, I swear.
I took a deep breath, immersing myself in my work again.
~~~~~~~
"Yeah, I know. Of course not. You guys can come anytime. I am sure there is no clause about not bringing friends to your place," I chuckled, sprawled on my bed mindlessly.
I hoped to get some snacks from the department store near the apartments, but I was so tired that I didn't have the energy to walk.
After taking a shower, I didn't even bother with my undergarments and just wore my long T-shirt that reached below my knees.
"So tell us whenever you are free. Let's go somewhere as a group?" Madeline suggested.
"Yes, let's go trekking. I have been thinking of going to the mountains for some time," David's excited voice immediately resounded, and I smiled.
"What do you say in this, Matt?" I asked.
We all were in a group call since sharing things and making plans this way was much easier.
"I am ready for the trek, but your location puts me off. Are you sure it's okay to stay there? You have no one to take care of you and -"
I scrunched my brows when I heard the bell going off.
"Who is it?" David asked, and I shrugged before realizing they couldn't see me.
"How would I know? I will check now after you guys allow me to," I stood from my place and walked to the door.
"I am sure it's her bosses who can't keep to themselves and want her company again,"
"Shut up, Madeline. You are too loud," I said, and she immediately quietened.
However, I won't lie and say that her words didn't excite me because they did.
I peeped through the hole and noticed it was indeed my bosses, who were standing at the doors with their backs facing me. And why were they dressed like they were going to some seminar?
"It's indeed them. I will talk to you guys later,"
"Hey, Li, be careful. I don't like how they are repeatedly interrupting your time. You are alone there," Matt said, and I smiled at their thoughtfulness.
"Don't worry. I have got it covered. Now, I am opening the door. Bye," I said, trying to stuff the phone in my pocket when I realized I didn't have one.
I had no undergarments on and was just in my long T-shirt. My n*pples were practically visible through my T-shirt!
Damn it! I dashed into my room and put my undergarments under my t-shirt before wearing my cotton shorts.
